Emergency logistics information system framework based on the internet of things

The logistics industry in China has developed into a unique pattern. Logistics informatization is one of the important parts of modern logistics, which distinguishes with the traditional logistics. More and more urgent demands for logistics information generates with the development of social logistics. The key problem that needs to be solved in modern logistics is how to analyze and extract the useful information from a great deal of information. This paper mainly analyzes the potential users of logistics information platform, and proposes a novel design pattern and operation procedure for modern logistics information platform, which promotes the development of modern logistics to some extent.

The informatization of agricultural products logistics (APL) is an objective requirement with the development of agricultural modernization. This paper briefly analyzes domestic and foreign APL, and we suggest a scheme of building logistics information platform taking the situation of Henan province (In the central of China) as an example. Considering the demand of analysis on the platform, the structure, hierarchy and function of the platform are designed by the principle of building an information platform. With the example of Henan province, we hope it could provide theoretical and practical guidance for others constructions of APL platform. KEYWORD: Agricultural products; Logistics; agricultural products logistics (APL); information platform International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management Science (ITMS 2015) © 2015. The authors Published by Atlantis Press 1796 1.2 Informationization development of Agricultural products logistics With the popularization of information technology, and with the B2B and B2C mode, online supermarkets, chain stores and other modern methods fundamentally promote the development of the agricultural market. Logistics informationization is the essential characteristics of modern APL, and makes modern APL different from traditional one. Logistics Informationization uses modern information technology to logistics, cash flow, information flow and other resources integration. It is used to construct logistics information platform and promote the development of modern APL industry. The research on informatization is related with logistics industry. Yi Quan [7], etc in an article of A research onthe construction of Yangtze River main line logistics information platform, analyzes on the Yangtze river main line feasibility and necessity of constructing the EDI system, and then finally puts forward some Suggestions of EDI system construction. Fu Lan [8] in APL information system design pointed out that in order to realize the modernization of APL, logistics information system construction is the important means, according to the function of APL system, where she divided into seven subsystems. Through the construction of public information platform and function modules with mutual cooperation, the information is sharing between the two sides of supply and demand. Cui Man, Lu Jianjun, Zhao Anxin, Wei Chen [9] from the Internet of things technology, found the low efficiency of logistics and the low degree of information sharing in the existence of coal enterprise, and propose to establish the information platform to enhance information feedback speed and information sharing degrees. 2 DEMAND OF APL INFORMATION PLATFORM Agricultural production is the main economic industry in Henan Province located in the central region of country where it has convenient transportation. This paper gives, taking Henan province as an example, a brief analysis and design of APL information platform. 2.1 Development Status of APL informationization in Henan Compared with developed countries, and domestic economic developed regions, in aspect of infrastructure, information standards, new technology applications, logistics platform construction and talents training, Henan Province falls behind a huge gap, which mainly reflected in the following aspects: (1) Logistics information disconnect, and difficult to trace agricultural product quality safety problems. (2) Poor infrastructure, difficult to establish a unified standard data and collect information. (3) Logistics information is isolated. 2.2 Analysis development of APL with SWOT method S Geographical: a transportation hub for rail, road and aviation for domestic lines of northsouth and east-west. Resources: the largest grain production base, the second fruit and vegetable production. Information network: based on Internet, broadband network information platform is constructing to be perfected. Policy: the local government issued some support policies. W Logistics management: there is no unified management, and different departments manage their own section, and also division of labor and responsibility is not clear. Circulation: unprocessed primary products occupy a large share, and it does not bring value-added benefits; circulation too much, causing an increase in costs IT backward: poor infrastructure and technology development lags behind. O Henan province established a modern logistics industry development planning in Henan province (2012-2015). Relying on a large circulation enterprises and wholesale markets, developing agricultural logistics, and supporting agricultural goods storage and distribution system in the province, to promote the development of logistics

The infectious disease COVID-19 has swept across the world in 2020, and it continues to cause massive losses of life and severe economic problems in all countries. Providing emergency supplies such as protective medical equipment and materials required to secure people’s livelihood is thus currently prioritized by governments. Establishing a reliable emergency logistics system is critical in this regard. This paper used the Delphi method to design a formal decision structure to assess emergency logistics system reliability (ELSR) by obtaining a consensus from a panel of experts. Assessing ELSR is a typical multiple-attribute decision making (MADM) problem, and the related MADM methods are usually on the basis of symmetry principles. A hybrid MADM model, called the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL)-based Analytical Network Process (D-ANP), was developed to identify the critical factors influencing ELSR. An analysis of empirical evidence showed that the emergency logistics command and coordination system and the emergency material supply system play important roles in ELSR, while the emergency logistics transportation and distribution system and the emergency information system are not so important. This conclusion is different from previous research about traditional disaster emergency logistics. Moreover, the cause–effect relationships among the key factors indicated that the system of command and coordination for emergency logistics and the supply system for emergency materials should be improved. Accordingly, effective suggestions for emergency logistics services for epidemic prevention are provided in this paper. The main contributions of this paper are (1) establishing a comprehensive and systematic evaluating index of ELSR for epidemic prevention; (2) employing a kind of structured, namely D-ANP, to identify the critical factors with non-commensurable and conflicting (competing) characteristics; and (3) comparing the differences of reliable criteria between the emergency logistics of epidemic prevention and the traditional disaster emergency logistics.

With the broader dissemination of digital technologies, visionary concepts like the Internet of Things also affect an increasing number of use cases with interfaces to humans, e.g. manufacturing environments with technical operators monitoring the processes. This leads to additional challenges, as besides the technical issues also human aspects have to be considered for a successful implementation of strategic initiatives like Industrie 4.0. From a technical perspective, complex event processing has proven itself in practice to be capable of integrating and analyzing huge amounts of heterogeneous data and establishing a basic level of situation awareness by detecting situations of interests. Whereas this reactive nature of complex event processing systems may be sufficient for machine-to-machine use cases, the new characteristic of application fields with humans remaining in the control loop leads to an increasing action distance and delayed reactions. Taking human aspects into consideration leads to new requirements, with transparency and comprehensibility of the processing of events being the most important ones. Improving the comprehensibility of complex event processing and extending its capabilities towards an effective support of human operators allows tackling technical and non-technical challenges at the same time. The main contribution of this thesis answers the question of how to evolve state-of-the-art complex event processing from its reactive nature towards a transparent and holistic situation management system. The goal is to improve the interaction among systems and humans in use cases with interfaces between both worlds. Realizing a holistic situation management requires three missing capabilities to be introduced by the contributions of this thesis: First, based on the achieved transparency, the retrospective analysis of situations is enabled by collecting information related to a situation's occurrence and development. Therefore, CEP engine-specific situation descriptions are transformed into a common model, allowing the automatic decomposition of the underlying patterns to derive partial patterns describing the intermediate states of processing. Second, by introducing the psychological model of situation awareness into complex event processing, human aspects of information processing are taken into consideration and introduced into the complex event processing paradigm. Based on this model, an extended situation life-cycle and transition method are derived. The introduced concepts and methods allow the implementation of the controlling function of situation management and enable the effective acquisition and maintenance of situation awareness for human operators to purposefully direct their attention towards upcoming situations. Finally, completing the set of capabilities for situation management, an approach is presented to support the generation and integration of prediction models for predictive situation management. Therefore, methods are introduced to automatically label and extract relevant data for the generation of prediction models and to enable the embedding of the resulting models for an automatic evaluation and execution. The contributions are introduced, applied and evaluated along a scenario from the manufacturing domain.

New opportunities have been created for the management of critical situations utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT). However, one of the difficulties in providing services for critical situation management using IoT is that access will often be needed by users at the critical events, where access to data and resources is usually restricted by means of their normal roles. In Role-Based Access Control, these roles are organized in static hierarchies and users are authorized to play such roles in order to exercise their organizational functions. However, some of these roles cannot be organized in the same way in static hierarchies as the authorizations granted to such roles directly correspond to the dynamic contextual conditions (e.g., body sensors data). Users need to satisfy these conditions to exercise the functions of such dynamic contextual roles. These dynamic conditions can be effectively derived from the IoT devices in order to manage the critical situations. However, a large number of static roles and contextual conditions has led to the high administrative and processing overheads. In this paper, we present a formal approach to CAAC for dynamically specifying the contextual roles based on the relevant contextual conditions derived from information provided through IoT. We also introduce an ontology-based approach which models the dynamic contextual roles and its associated access control policies. We demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal by providing a walkthrough of the whole mechanism. We also carry out an experimental study on the performance of our approach compared to our previous approach.
