Emerging Trends of Outsourcing Business to Cloud Computing Services: A Perspective Study

This book brings together works presented in the mini-courses given at the 16th Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems (SBSI), held online and organized by the Federal University of ABC, from November 03 to 06, 2020. Participate in SBSI, the national debate forum of Information Systems (IS) area, students and researchers with the presentation of scientific papers and discussion of contemporary topics related to the area. This year, 5 valid mini-course proposals were submitted and two were selected, as decided at the last meeting of the Special Information Systems Commission. Such proposals were evaluated by at least three researchers who are part of a committee composed of 38 research professors. The two mini-courses contained in this book address topics of interest to the Information Systems community and related to the 16th theme. Edition of the event, entitled “Information Systems in Digital Transformation and Innovation”. The first chapter, “Using Network Science in the Development of Complex Systems”, teaches how the context of complex systems affects the development of contemporary applications and how models in network science can be used to better understand the structure and characteristics of these systems. The second chapter, “Development of Service Solutions: SOA, Cloud and Microservices”, discusses the synergy between the concepts of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Cloud Computing (Cloud), and Microservice Architecture (MSA) in the context of the development of Information Systems software, showing how to apply these paradigms in the development of distributed applications for information systems. We hope that this book will help students, researchers, and professionals in the Information Systems area in building knowledge on specific topics related to what was presented here.

ERP management information systems are widely used in the process of enterprise operation and development. By optimizing the allocation of management resources such as enterprise customers, project operations, material procurement, supply, and production, the utility of various resources in the enterprise is maximized, with integrated, systematic, and organizational management characteristics. Based on this, this article discusses cloud computing and ERP systems, analyzes the positive effects of cloud computing ERP systems on enterprises, and studies the specific applications of ERP systems in enterprises under cloud computing mode. At present, many large and medium-sized enterprises in China have established a complete ERP enterprise management information system. Considering the expansion of enterprise scale and the multiplication of enterprise management data, the existing ERP management information system has shown some limitations. With the rapid development of computer technology, the concept of cloud computing has been gradually promoted and applied. Based on the characteristics of cloud computing, ERP enterprise management information system began to consciously combine with the concept of cloud computing. This paper mainly introduces the characteristics and advantages of ERP enterprise management information system based on cloud computing mode, and analyzes its application effect in depth.

This paper proposes a service-oriented hierarchical architecture of regional health information service platform with five layers based on concept of cloud computing, and points out the key indicators of platform service level agreement. From views of system security and health information privacy preserving, it also puts forward a security model of the platform and a health information sharing model based on individual permission.KeywordsCloud computingRegional health information system

The purpose is to determine the initiatives of international standardization in the sphere of cloud computing. The implementation of technologies based on the concept of cloud computing in various fields, particularly in education, may contribute to the modernization of education in general, the transition to a new level, for the further development on the principles of openness and accessibility. Along with this there is a need for development of appropriate mechanisms to ensure quality of cloud resources and services, their compliance with a number of technical, technological, psychological, pedagogical, ergonomic and other requirements. In this context, the initiatives of the Joint Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which now has developed standards that define terminology and typical architecture of cloud computing, is significant. Objectives: to outline the importance of cloud computing for the educational sector; to justify the feasibility of cloud computing standardization; to consider the first international initiatives in this area. Object: standardization in IT sphere. Subject: international experience of standardization in the sphere of cloud computing. Methods: analysis of the literature, web-resources, regulative documents. Conclusions: for the development of the open and accessible educational environment it is necessary to introduce technologies that would remotely operate all the necessary data. These capabilities are provided by technology based on the concept of cloud computing. With the development of cloud computing technology the functionality of electronic resources and services have significantly increased. Along with this there is a need to ensure the quality of these resources and services, including through standardization. The main objective of international standardization in the field of cloud computing is to create an environment that would provide consumers by access to services in any region of the world, regardless of the tools and technologies they use, thus providing a basis for further development of open education. The next step is to develop authentic state standards that define basic requirements for IT, including cloud technologies that would serve as a guarantor of their safety use for educational purposes.

Cloud computing is currently the most hyped and popular paradigm in the domain of distributed computing. Multiple vendors are providing infrastructure, platform, and software-related cloud products or solutions, and the number of such vendors is growing rapidly. But the reality is that there is very little in the form of standards in general and interoperability standards in particular. This leads to a challenging situation for cloud service consumers as they need to use solutions provided by multiple cloud vendors in order to fulfill their business requirements, and the lack of standardization leads to lack of interoperability among the solutions provided by varied vendors. Service brokers act as intermediaries between the cloud service providers and consumers. The role of service brokers becomes critical in situations that need integration among multiple systems as they bridge the interoperability gaps among multiple cloud solutions and thus compensate for the lack of standards. They do so by acting as agents adding value on behalf of the service consumers. The usage of such cloud brokers also helps to future-proof the solution as service brokers add a layer of indirection, thus enabling loose coupling among the cloud service consumers and providers. The aim of this chapter is to review the role of cloud service brokers in cloud computing. The review includes consolidation of the definitions and characteristics of cloud service brokers, review of the current brokerage solutions, and interfacing requirements. Also presented are a high-level cloud service broker functional architecture, criteria for selection of a cloud service broker, future trends and review of benefits, and challenges of using cloud service brokers.

The concept of cloud computing has recently changed how hardware, software, and information are handled. However, security challenges and credibility requirements have never changed and may have increased. Protecting cloud computing and providing security for its resources and users is one of the critical challenges. As a result, most users are afraid to use their resources, because many security problems must be met. For example, authentication and reliability are major security constraints and must be provided in a cloud computing environment. There is a wide range of authentication protocols in use, but the researcher has recommended the Kerberos protocol to represent and test it in a complex environment such as a mixed cloud environment. A model has been developed to implement Kerberos authentication in a hybrid cloud computing environment to securely access the cloud computing services provided. This model is represented using the OPNET Modeler 14.5 simulation system. The network efficiency was measured before and after the hacker. Findings presented in this research are supporting the ability of the Kerberos protocol to prevent illegal access to cloud computing services, whether from within the private cloud or the public cloud. Commoditization and virtualization of wireless networks are changing the economics of mobile networks to help network providers, e.g. Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), move from proprietary and bespoke hardware and software platforms to an open, cost-efficient and flexible cellular ecosystem. In addition, rich and innovation local services can be efficiently materialized through cloudification by leveraging the existing infrastructure. The future communication architecture for mobile cloud services - Mobile Cloud Networking (MCN) is a EU FP7 large-scale integrating project (IP) funded by the European Commission that is focusing on how cloud computing and network function virtualization concepts are applied to achieve virtualization of cellular networks. It aims at the development of a fully cloud-based mobile communication and application platform, or more specifically, it aims to investigate, implement and evaluate the technological foundations for the mobile communication system of long-term evolution (LTE), based on mobile network with decentralized computing and smart storage offered as one atomic service: on-demand, elastic and pay-as-you-go. MCN will investigate, implement and evaluate the technological foundations for that system to meet real-time performance and support efficient and elastic use and sharing of radio access and mobile core network resources between operators. Mobile network functionalities-such as baseband unit processing, mobility management and quality of service (QoS) control-will run on the enhanced mobile cloud platform leveraging commodity hardware, which requires extensions toward higher decentralization and enhancing them to elastically scale up and down based on load. The end-to-end control and management orchestrates infrastructure and services across several technological domains: wireless, mobile core and data centres, providing guaranteed multiple end-to-end service, mobility through the Follow-Me Cloud concept. In this chapter, we present three enabling components of such a future MCN architecture: Radio Access Network as a Service (RANaaS), Information-Centric Networking as a Service (ICNaaS) and Mobility Prediction as a Service (MOBaaS).

Cloud computing is one of the most rapidly evolving technologies today; it provides numerous advantages that increase its affordability and dependability for use in the company. This paper goes over the concepts of cloud computing, such as its characteristics, deployment model, and service model, discusses the various benefits of cloud computing, and highlights the most pressing issues and security concerns in cloud storage. As a consequence, that leads to a review of distinctive cryptography algorithms that meet the security requirements (CIA: confidentiality, integrity, and availability) that are used to secure communications in cloud computing situations. It also displays many algorithms depending on the previous studies, such as Blowfish, RSA, DES, AES, MD5, Feistel, SP, HIGHT, LED, Cybpher, PRESENT, RC6, Diamond2, mCrypton, SLIM, Klein, PUFFIN-2, SEA, CLEFIA, LBlock, TWINE, 2, ANU, ANU-II, NLBSIT, Piccolo, BORON, RECTANGLE, LICI, QTL, LOGIC, TRIVIUM, Fruit-v2, Fruit-80, A4, the Enocoro family, and Grain family, to make a comparison among them using many measurements. It found that modern and lightweight algorithms are more suitable for use in this field. Furthermore, the purpose of this paper is to make some suggestions for improving the safety and security of cloud computing technologies.

The objective of this study is to verify the importance of the capabilities of cloud computing services in managing and analyzing big data in business organizations because the rapid development in the use of information technology in general and network technology in particular, has led to the trend of many organizations to make their applications available for use via electronic platforms hosted by various Companies on their servers or so-called cloud computing that have become an excellent opportunity to provide services efficiently and at low cost, but managing big data presents a definite challenge in the cloud space beginning with the processes of extracting, processing data, storing data and analyze it. Through this study, we dealt with the concept of cloud computing and its capabilities in business organizations. We also interpreted the notion of big data and its distinct characteristics and sources. Finally, the relationship between cloud computing with big data was also explained (extraction, storage, analysis).

Cloud computing is a new term emerged in recent years. Although it is a new thing, it has developed fast and received significant attention from more and more people. Because data is the processing object of the cloud computing system, data storage and management are critical for cloud computing systems, thus they are very valuable research areas for researchers. First, this paper introduces the concept and characteristics of cloud computing, and puts forward a concept of cloud computing based on own understanding. Then, this paper analyzes Google’s two data storage and management technologies—GFS and BigTable, and discusses the Map-Reduce programming model. Finally, we outlook the development trend of cloud computing and point out the problems it consists.

Single Web server would become a bottleneck that influences the availability and stability of Web service. Ten years ago, what had been proposed is to add Web servers for resolving this problem—Web Server Cluster. In recent years, the concept of cloud computing has got rapid development, and is becoming the future development trend of the IT industry. One of the characteristics of cloud computing is putting lots of computing resources together to provide users with a unified service. In this paper, we have proposed a new Cloud-Based Web Server Cluster Solution, based on the existing cloud computing model—Twitter Storm. It involves a new way to handle the web request from client and some other new features compared to the traditional Web Server Cluster. Combining with cloud computing, it would be the new trend of Web Server Cluster, and its feasibility is described in the paper too.

Cloud computing is a new computing model which uses virtualization technology, distributed computing, parallel computing and other existing technologies to achieve cloud service virtualization and economies of scale, whilst increasingly overwhelming cloud security issues has brought great challenges and concerns to the cloud services providers and cloud users, especially trust and privacy issues with regard to cloud computing and cloud shared storage associated security issues. In the paper, we expound the basic concepts of cloud computing, deployment models, service models and key features, analyze and outline the currently highlighted cloud security issues, report the status quo of cloud computing security, investigate the prevalent and typical cloud computing security problem key solving techniques, and thus render a comprehensive cloud computing security technical reference model, which is composed of associated cloud security solving techniques that result from inevitably multi-faceted cloud security issues. The model is expected to alleviate prominent cloud security issues. With the rapid development of the Internet and cloud computing applications, the construction of a digital library in the cloud computing environment has been put on the agenda. Construction and management of digital libraries using cloud computing technology, can effectively utilize resources, reduce costs, achieve better information sharing, and improve the service function of the library. In this paper, studies digital library based on cloud computing. Firstly, introduces the characteristics and establish principles of digital library based on cloud computing; secondly, elaborated the concept and work principle of cloud computing; then, describes the key technology of cloud computing, and a detailed introduction of virtual storage technology in digital library; and finally introduced cloud computing digital library service model, including cloud software as a service layer (SaaS), cloud platform as a service layer (PaaS), cloud infrastructure as a service layer (IaaS).

At both clinical and diagnostic levels, machine learning technologies could help facilitate medical decision-making. Prediction of sports injuries, for instance, is a key component of avoiding and minimizing injury in motion. Despite significant attempts to forecast sports injuries, the present method is limited by its inability to identify predictors. When designing measures for the avoidance of work-related accidents and the reduction of associated risks, the risk of injury to athletes is a crucial consideration. Various indicators are being evaluated to identify injury risk factors in a number of different methods. Consequently, this paper proposes a Deep Learning-assisted System (DLS) for diagnosing sports injuries using the Internet of Things (IoT) and the concept of cloud computing. The IoT sensors that compose the body area network collect crucial data for the diagnosis of sports injuries, while cloud computing makes available flexible computer system resources and computing power. This research examines the brain injury monitoring framework, uses an optimal neural network to forecast brain injury, and enhances the medical rehabilitation system for sports. Using the metrics accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, the performance of the proposed model is assessed and compared with current models.
