Exploring the Influence of Parental Roles on Societal Dynamics: A Church-Centric Analysis

This research theoretically analyzes parents' role in shaping Generation Alpha's character at primary school age in the digital era. This research method uses qualitative methods of literature study. Research data sources are obtained from literature relevant to the research theme, such as books, scientific articles, or journals accessed from Google Scholar. Data analysis techniques use content analysis techniques. Furthermore, the results of the content analysis are concluded in accordance with the research objectives. The results showed that the role of parents in shaping the character of the alpha generation with the following details: (1) teach children to access various information through the internet correctly and be able to communicate civilly; (2) control or supervise the impressions accessed by the child; (3) limit the duration of time children play mobile phones; (4) invite children to play in open spaces to develop socially; (5) invite children to exercise or play that can develop children's physical motor. In addition to the five roles performed above, parents also need to fortify children with strong aqidah and ahklak and bring children closer to the Quran so that children's character is quickly developed and formed.

<p>This study aims to describe the role of parents in shaping the religious character of elementary school-aged children in Dusun Ngayung, Sumberagung Village, Plumpang Sub-district, Tuban Regency, particularly in the context of challenges brought by the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that while religious education institutions such as TPQ (Qur'anic learning centers) exist and function in the community, parental involvement plays a more crucial role in embedding religious values. However, many parents have not yet consistently guided their children in religious practice, often due to limited time, low digital literacy, and a tendency to rely solely on formal or non-formal education. The study also found that excessive and unsupervised use of digital media by children tends to weaken their interest and engagement in religious activities. Some parents have made positive efforts by limiting screen time, encouraging daily prayers, and being role models at home, but these practices remain limited in scope. The study concludes that collaborative efforts between parents, educational institutions, and the wider community are essential to foster religious character in children, especially in balancing technological advancement with spiritual development.</p>

Good character is the goal of the educational process for invividuals. However, this hope is not fully realized in the world of education. Some students at SDI Golo Ru'u have a bad mentality. In this case, it is not polite to talk both to the teacher and his peers, excessive behavior, disorderly, and do not respect the teacher. This study aims to describe the role of parents in shaping their children's social skills as students at SDI Golo Ru'u and describing the factors that influence the social skills of students at SDI Golo Ru'u. This type of research used by researchers in this study is a qualitative type with descriptive design. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and observation. The research instrument is the researcher himself, and guidelines for interviews and observations. The technique of checking the validity of data through three channels namely, reducing data, presenting data, drawing conclusions. Research shows that. The conclusion of this study is the role of parents in shaping children's social skills as students through three methods, namely 1) the training method, 2) the exemplary method, 3) the positive habit method. In addition, supporting factors faced by parents in shaping the social skills of children as students in SDI Golo Ru'u include (1) providing motivation, (2) positive habits that are practiced by parents. While the inhibiting factors, namely; (1) children who tend to be lazy, (2) children who are busy with the world of play, (3) neighborhood and school environment.

This study sought to explore the influence of Christianity on the African Akan naming ceremony with focus on the people of New Juaben Traditional Area. The developmental stages of human life experience have been earmarked by rites of passage that represent crucial facets in the cultural outlook and make-up of every society. These rites of passage include birth and childhood rites (naming ceremony), puberty, marriage and death rites. The Akan like every other society practises the naming ceremony in a way that reflects their cultural values, beliefs and traditions. Unfortunately, this culturally engineered practices have posed an ethico-religious dilemma regarding the ideal naming ceremony approach for an African Akan Christian. The aim of the study was realized through sampling 20 participants who were subjected to in-depth interview sessions. The study found out that Christianity has impacted Akan traditional naming ceremony in ways such as timing of naming ritual, traditional familial roles, naming rituals and emblems and the type of name given to the child. Conclusively, traditional religious adherents must constantly uphold its cultural heritage in the face of modernism which may sometimes demand a change in customs and societal traditions. Giving relevance to traditional naming ceremonies is the first step. The study recommends the need to document cultural practice for future generations as lived experiences may be tainted by factors that tend to demonize the Akan cultural practice of naming ceremonies.

The presence of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has changed almost all aspects of life, one of them being the aspect of education. With the help of technology, the teaching process is done online from the home of each student. The role of parents, in this case, is very much needed in educating children for the formation of characters that are not obtained in the school environment. This article aims to determine the role of parents in shaping the character of their children during the Covid-19 pandemic through the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith. By using a descriptive qualitative research method, the implementation of the research is carried out by field observation. The conclusion of this research is that role of parents is important in shaping the character of their children n to become better children, as an educator, facilitators, motivators, and role models for the child (Al-Uswah Al-Hashanah).

<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>This study examines the role of parents in shaping the religious character of children aged 7 to 12 at Madin Al Istiqomah. The research aims to identify and evaluate the influence of parents on children’s character development. A descriptive qualitative approach was utilized, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal that parents act as primary introducers of religious values through strategies such as role modeling, habituation of worship practices, and utilizing leisure time for positive activities. The madrasah diniyah complements this role by providing spiritual programs, and collaboration between parents and the institution fosters a supportive environment for children’s religious growth despite challenges from environmental factors and social media. This study contributes to the literature on family-based religious education and offers practical guidance for parents and educators on enhancing children’s moral and spiritual development.</em><em></em></p><div class="host-lopnbnfpjmgpbppclhclehhgafnifija" style="position: relative; z-index: 2147483647;"> </div>

Demographic challenges, such as population decline, aging, and low fertility rates, have gained significant policy and scholarly attention. This is particularly evident in China, given its large and aging population with a total fertility rate falling well below the replacement level. This study investigates the influence of migrant parents on the fertility intentions of migrants through a self-conducted survey conducted in Chinese superstar cities (i.e. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou). Our results indicate that migrant individuals with co-resident parents are 12.5% more likely to desire future children compared to those without such co-residence. Additionally, we find that the fertility intentions of migrants are more likely to be influenced by their parents rather than their parents-in-law. Furthermore, this effect is less pronounced for older migrants, those with lower educational levels, and individuals with higher incomes. These findings underscore the significant role of parents in shaping the behaviours and decisions of their children.

Generation Z, who grew up in the digital age, has unique characteristics and is different from previous generations. As digital natives, Gen Z has the ability to utilize technology but tends to lack social sensitivity. This study aims to explore the role of parents in shaping the character of Gen Z that is balanced between technical competence and social care. Qualitative method with literature study was used in this study. The results suggest that parents should be role models in the healthy and responsible use of technology, as well as encouraging Gen Z to engage in social activities. Collaboration between parents and Gen Z is very important to prepare the next generation who are competent and have good social care

In contrast with early theories of socialization that emphasized the role of parents in shaping their children's personalities, recent empirical evidence suggests an evocative relationship between adolescent personality traits and the quality of the parent-adolescent relationship. Research using behavior genetic methods suggests that the association between personality and parenting is genetically mediated, such that the genetic effects on adolescent personality traits overlap with the genetic effects on parenting behavior. In the current study, the authors examined whether the etiology of this relationship might change depending on the adolescent's personality. Biometrical moderation models were used to test for gene- environment interaction and correlation between personality traits and measures of conflict, regard, and involvement with parents in a sample of 2,452 adolescents (M age = 17.79 years). They found significant moderation of both positive and negative qualities of the parent-adolescent relationship, such that the genetic and environmental variance in relationship quality varied as functions of the adolescent's levels of personality. These findings support the importance of adolescent personality in the development of the quality of the parent-adolescent relationship.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping the akhlakul karimah students of Aisyiyah Middle School Creative School. Describe and analyze the role of parents in shaping the akhlakul karimah students of the Aisyiyah Middle School Creative School. Describe and analyze the collaboration of parents and teachers of Islamic Religious Education in forming akhlakul karimah students at Aisyiyah Middle School Creative School. This type of research is field research (field research) which is descriptive in nature. To obtain research data, data collection techniques were carried out, where the technique had three stages, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are Data Reduction, Data Analysis, and Data Verification. The conclusion of this study is the Collaboration of PAI Teachers and Parents in the Formation of Student Morals at Aisiyyah Creative Middle School, namely by providing understanding in the form of motivational values ​​about good morals to students, controlling or supervising all student activities including in implementing good morals, and providing punishment for students who commit disgraceful acts.

The aim of the research is to determine the relationship of linguistic means with the satirical orientation of the television series “The Young Ones” as a way to form the image of youth subcultures. The article analyzes the linguistic means used in the series, and also determines their influence on the perception and interpretation of images of youth subcultures. It is shown that hyperbole, absurdity, irony, and homonymy not only create a comic effect, but also serve as instruments for criticizing social norms and traditional cultural codes. It is noted that the satirical context of the series is enhanced by the specificity of the use of these means, reflecting and distorting the realities of youth culture, its radical attitudes, and its protest attitude towards society. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the initial identification of the linguistic mechanisms for forming the satirical context of the series “The Young Ones” and determining their role in displaying youth culture and social attitudes. The results show that the identified linguistic elements contribute to the creation of an image of youth subcultures oriented towards a radical rethinking of social norms and historical figures, thereby manipulating viewer perception and enhancing the satirical effect of the series.

The study investigates the impact of social media on human communication and societal dynamics through a survey-based approach involving 200 participants. Through the survey, participants' social media usage patterns, perceptions of its influence on human interaction, self-concept, and societal norms were explored. Additionally, qualitative insights were gathered via semi-structured interviews to enrich understanding. Results revealed diverse viewpoints among participants, with a significant acknowledgment of social media's influence on human interaction and societal norms. The study identified varying degrees of behavioural changes attributed to pervasive social media usage, highlighting implications for individual well-being and societal dynamics. Notably, while a substantial proportion agreed on the platform's positive impact on fostering connections and community engagement, dissenting opinions were also observed, indicating a nuanced perspective. In conclusion, the study underscores the complex interplay between social media usage and human behaviour, emphasizing the need for nuanced approaches in understanding its impact. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of contemporary communication patterns and societal norms shaped by social media. The study's implications extend to researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, informing strategies for navigating the evolving landscape of digital communication.

This study aimed to investigate the tourist experience of individuals who travel with infants and young children from the perspective of accessible tourism using online written interviews. Colaizzi's (1978) descriptive phenomenology was used as the research method, categorizing data into 6 categories, 17 theme clusters, and 73 themes. Specifically, the study examined reasons for participating in tourism, satisfaction with tourism activities, the usefulness of parents' prior experience, considerations when engaging in tourism with infants, difficulties encountered, and strategies for overcoming these difficulties. Difficulties and strategies for overcoming them were identified within the 17 theme clusters. The findings revealed that individuals participate in tourism activities to escape their daily routines, seek new experiences, and fulfill their parental roles. Although challenges such as limited mobility and lack of convenient facilities were noted, these were viewed as obstacles that could be easily overcome by the accompanying parents. This research highlights that individuals traveling with infants and young children perceive the limitations of tourism activities as unique conditions associated with traveling with young ones, differing from previous studies. Effective strategies for overcoming difficulties included diversifying information acquisition, engaging in actions to relax psychologically, and recognizing the uniqueness of the situation. Through this experiential process, parents were able to strengthen family bonds and derive satisfaction from the joy experienced by their children, resulting in a positive and fulfilling experience. These research findings contribute to a better understanding of the tourist experience for individuals traveling with infants and young children and offer important academic implications.
