Raising Young Athletes

This research theoretically analyzes parents' role in shaping Generation Alpha's character at primary school age in the digital era. This research method uses qualitative methods of literature study. Research data sources are obtained from literature relevant to the research theme, such as books, scientific articles, or journals accessed from Google Scholar. Data analysis techniques use content analysis techniques. Furthermore, the results of the content analysis are concluded in accordance with the research objectives. The results showed that the role of parents in shaping the character of the alpha generation with the following details: (1) teach children to access various information through the internet correctly and be able to communicate civilly; (2) control or supervise the impressions accessed by the child; (3) limit the duration of time children play mobile phones; (4) invite children to play in open spaces to develop socially; (5) invite children to exercise or play that can develop children's physical motor. In addition to the five roles performed above, parents also need to fortify children with strong aqidah and ahklak and bring children closer to the Quran so that children's character is quickly developed and formed.

<p>This study aims to describe the role of parents in shaping the religious character of elementary school-aged children in Dusun Ngayung, Sumberagung Village, Plumpang Sub-district, Tuban Regency, particularly in the context of challenges brought by the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that while religious education institutions such as TPQ (Qur'anic learning centers) exist and function in the community, parental involvement plays a more crucial role in embedding religious values. However, many parents have not yet consistently guided their children in religious practice, often due to limited time, low digital literacy, and a tendency to rely solely on formal or non-formal education. The study also found that excessive and unsupervised use of digital media by children tends to weaken their interest and engagement in religious activities. Some parents have made positive efforts by limiting screen time, encouraging daily prayers, and being role models at home, but these practices remain limited in scope. The study concludes that collaborative efforts between parents, educational institutions, and the wider community are essential to foster religious character in children, especially in balancing technological advancement with spiritual development.</p>

Good character is the goal of the educational process for invividuals. However, this hope is not fully realized in the world of education. Some students at SDI Golo Ru'u have a bad mentality. In this case, it is not polite to talk both to the teacher and his peers, excessive behavior, disorderly, and do not respect the teacher. This study aims to describe the role of parents in shaping their children's social skills as students at SDI Golo Ru'u and describing the factors that influence the social skills of students at SDI Golo Ru'u. This type of research used by researchers in this study is a qualitative type with descriptive design. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and observation. The research instrument is the researcher himself, and guidelines for interviews and observations. The technique of checking the validity of data through three channels namely, reducing data, presenting data, drawing conclusions. Research shows that. The conclusion of this study is the role of parents in shaping children's social skills as students through three methods, namely 1) the training method, 2) the exemplary method, 3) the positive habit method. In addition, supporting factors faced by parents in shaping the social skills of children as students in SDI Golo Ru'u include (1) providing motivation, (2) positive habits that are practiced by parents. While the inhibiting factors, namely; (1) children who tend to be lazy, (2) children who are busy with the world of play, (3) neighborhood and school environment.

The presence of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has changed almost all aspects of life, one of them being the aspect of education. With the help of technology, the teaching process is done online from the home of each student. The role of parents, in this case, is very much needed in educating children for the formation of characters that are not obtained in the school environment. This article aims to determine the role of parents in shaping the character of their children during the Covid-19 pandemic through the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith. By using a descriptive qualitative research method, the implementation of the research is carried out by field observation. The conclusion of this research is that role of parents is important in shaping the character of their children n to become better children, as an educator, facilitators, motivators, and role models for the child (Al-Uswah Al-Hashanah).

Several fingers point at the degradation of societal values, especially in the aspect of ethics and morality. The elders have now coined a saying, “Oh! the good old days” whenever issues of poor morals and ethics of the young ones come up. Recognizing the pivotal role of parents in shaping the values, morals, and societal norms, particularly within the context of family units guided by religious principles, this study explored the multifaceted impact of parental roles on broader societal structures through the lens of the church. The research methodology employed a quantitative research design with descriptive research analysis. The study found that society benefits from children who grow in parental affection, warmth, and love. Also, less contact time with parents actually affects open connection to stimulate emotional control which is key to coexistence in the society. It is evident that the church is practically at the center of the key traditional ceremonies that are used to impact morals, ethics, and culture in the young ones – naming ceremony, baptism, confirmation (puberty rites), marriage (both customary and ordinance) as well as funerals. The study concludes that the influence of parenting on the society cannot be overemphasized. Whatever an individual is or would be is rooted in how every individual interacts with his/her immediate environment. This study contributes to scholarship by offering a nuanced understanding of how parental roles, framed within the church, can shape the broader societal dynamics. According to Handrianto (2013) the use of gadgets in children has positive and negative impacts, as well as in early childhood. The positive impacts of using gadgets on children include developing imagination, training children's intelligence, increasing children's self-confidence, developing reading, mathematics and problem solving skills. Meanwhile, the negative impacts of using gadgets are reducing concentration in studying, laziness in writing and reading, decreased social skills, addiction, can cause health problems, hinder children's cognitive development, hinder language skills and affect children's behavior.Parents are expected to have a big role in preventing the negative impact of gadget use in early childhood. For this reason, parents need to be given socialization about the role of parents in preventing early childhood addiction to gadgets. This research has two objectives, firstly to find out the positive relationship between the role of parents and gadget addiction in older people and secondly to find out the negative relationship between the role of parents and gadget addiction in young children.The research method used is quantitative research using Spearman Rank Correlation Analysis from the results of a questionnaire on the role of parents and parents' perceptions about gadget addiction in early childhood. Parents were divided into two groups, 1 group that was not given socialization and 1 group of parents who were given socialization. Both groups were given a pre-test and post-test. This research was carried out on TKIT Taamasa parents who were selected using a purposive sampling technique.Based on research conducted on TKIT Taamasa parents, the Spearman Rank correlation coefficient test results obtained from the pre-test results in the control group were -0.449 (negative). Likewise, the results of the correlation coefficient test for the control group post test were -0.389 (negative), the experimental group pre test results -0.114 (negative) and the experimental group post test -0.141 (negative). This shows that there is a negative relationship between the role of parents and gadget addiction in early childhood. The higher the role of parents, the lower the gadget addiction in young children. The negative coefficient value also proves that there is no positive relationship between the role of parents and gadget addiction in early childhood.Based on the research results, it was found that there was a negative relationship between the role of TKIT Taamasa parents and gadget addiction in early childhood in the group of parents who were given socialization and who were not given socialization regarding the role of parents in gadget addiction in early childhood. The higher the role of parents, the lower the addiction to gadgets in early childhood. Thus, researchers suggest that the role of people needs to be increased to prevent early childhood addiction to gadgets.

Sport psychology and performance psychology are related and overlapping terms that encompass a broad range of interventions, applications, and areas of research. These two domains focus on the psychological aspects of performance, within sports or exercise contexts in the former, as well as expansion to non-sport areas of performance such as business, the performing arts, medicine, and the military, in the latter. Some have proposed that sport psychology is a subspecialty of performance psychology, which is seen as an umbrella term. Over a number of decades, high-performance strategies and techniques and skills, developed within sports and exercise psychology field, have been extrapolated and applied to non-sports areas with positive results. Most individuals want to perform well in life, whether it is functioning optimally at work or school or performing well within family roles or performing and/or adapting well to situations and life circumstances; thus, the work of sport and performance psychology practitioners and researchers is to understand the often complex relationships of psychological (and/or biopsychosocial) factors involved in creating positive performance outcomes and experiences. Sport psychologists and performance psychologists play important roles within sports medicine and are often the best-trained providers to deal with mental health issues in athletes. Over the years, sport psychology has expanded to be seen as “sport and exercise psychology,” to include the contributions of exercise and sport scientists to sport performance (beyond applied sport psychologists); the field continues to expand and goes beyond sports to general performance science, which focuses on areas such as the development of expertise or the cognitive neuroscience aspects of high performance. For sports medicine providers, the perceived dichotomy of clinically or counseling-trained sport psychology providers and performance enhancement consultants (with various titles) can be confusing, especially as it relates to the mental health of athletes. Clinically trained sport psychologists can provide assessment and interventions that can address diagnosable mental health disorders and the subclinical disorder symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties. As a member of the sports medicine team, sport psychologists are typically the most experienced providers to deal with the psychological and emotional aspects of an athlete’s sports injury and injury recovery or rehab experience.

<p><em>The role of parents in stimulating play for their children is very important and influential in the development of children. The COVID-19 pandemic situation that is happening all over the world makes parents, feel worried and anxious if their children are infected with this dangerous virus. The impact of this problem is the occurrence of developmental delays in preschool children. </em><em>This study aimed to </em><em>analyze</em> <em>the relationship parents role in play stimulation and the development of preschool children during the covid 19 pandemic at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten, Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Hospital. The research design used cross sectional</em><em> study</em><em>. The population in this study were parents who had preschool children at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten, RSJ Dr Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang. The sample as many as 38. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The independent variable is the role of parents and the dependent variable is the development of preschool children during the Covid 19 pandemic. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data process</em><em>ed</em><em> by editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and analysis using Spearman's Rank test with alpha 0.05. The results of this study were obtained from 38 respondents, mostly (52.6%) the role of parents was good, most (68.4%) development was according to the age of the child. Spearman rank test show</em><em>ed</em><em> that the significance value = 0.001 < (0.05), so H1 was accepted. The conclusion is that there is relation of parents role in play stimulasion to preschool development during the Covid 19 pandemic.</em></p>

The most talented young athletes often face challenges related to sports health problems (ie, injury and illness), largely due to inappropriate training, condensed competition schedules and high demands. Previous preventive measures in Norway have lacked successful integration into young athletes' routines, highlighting the need for a systematic approach to safeguarding their health. To document the development of Prep to be PRO, an educational module-based programme, designed to support the development and protect the health of young athletes enrolled in sports junior high schools and sports academy high schools. Prep to be PRO aims to empower athletes with the relevant knowledge and skills to prevent health problems. The development process, guided by the Translating Research into Injury Prevention Practice framework, involved extensive collaboration with school leaders, coaches and athletes. From June 2019 to June 2023, the process incorporated multidisciplinary input from more than 40 stakeholders, including health personnel, as well as experts in sports science, nutrition and sports psychology. Prep to be PRO consists of 10 modules tailored for both sports Junior high schools and sports academy high schools. The modules cover a range of topics, including performance training, growth and maturation, load progression, recovery, total load, nutrition and sports psychology. The programme is athlete-centred, but coach-driven, including student-active approaches, collaboration, use of digital tools and deep learning. Prep to be PRO is anchored in the National High School Curriculum, ensuring relevance and alignment with educational standards. Specific competence goals and learning objectives from the curriculum are addressed and linked to each individual module. This educational programme appears to be a notable step forward in the Norwegian sports school's approach. Specifically, it may enhance the focus on overall health, introduce an individualised approach and foster long-term athlete development. The integration into the national curriculum and the involvement of school staff in its delivery is expected to facilitate implementation. Future work will focus on the next phases of implementation, as systematic data collection from coaches and athletes, ongoing stakeholder engagement, continuous adaptation and support for educators to ensure fidelity and relevance. Updates and analyses from all evaluations will examine the programme's effectiveness. Long-term sustainability will be secured by organisational commitment, resource alignment and integrating the initiative into existing structures.

<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>This study examines the role of parents in shaping the religious character of children aged 7 to 12 at Madin Al Istiqomah. The research aims to identify and evaluate the influence of parents on children’s character development. A descriptive qualitative approach was utilized, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal that parents act as primary introducers of religious values through strategies such as role modeling, habituation of worship practices, and utilizing leisure time for positive activities. The madrasah diniyah complements this role by providing spiritual programs, and collaboration between parents and the institution fosters a supportive environment for children’s religious growth despite challenges from environmental factors and social media. This study contributes to the literature on family-based religious education and offers practical guidance for parents and educators on enhancing children’s moral and spiritual development.</em><em></em></p><div class="host-lopnbnfpjmgpbppclhclehhgafnifija" style="position: relative; z-index: 2147483647;"> </div>

Demographic challenges, such as population decline, aging, and low fertility rates, have gained significant policy and scholarly attention. This is particularly evident in China, given its large and aging population with a total fertility rate falling well below the replacement level. This study investigates the influence of migrant parents on the fertility intentions of migrants through a self-conducted survey conducted in Chinese superstar cities (i.e. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou). Our results indicate that migrant individuals with co-resident parents are 12.5% more likely to desire future children compared to those without such co-residence. Additionally, we find that the fertility intentions of migrants are more likely to be influenced by their parents rather than their parents-in-law. Furthermore, this effect is less pronounced for older migrants, those with lower educational levels, and individuals with higher incomes. These findings underscore the significant role of parents in shaping the behaviours and decisions of their children.

Generation Z, who grew up in the digital age, has unique characteristics and is different from previous generations. As digital natives, Gen Z has the ability to utilize technology but tends to lack social sensitivity. This study aims to explore the role of parents in shaping the character of Gen Z that is balanced between technical competence and social care. Qualitative method with literature study was used in this study. The results suggest that parents should be role models in the healthy and responsible use of technology, as well as encouraging Gen Z to engage in social activities. Collaboration between parents and Gen Z is very important to prepare the next generation who are competent and have good social care

In contrast with early theories of socialization that emphasized the role of parents in shaping their children's personalities, recent empirical evidence suggests an evocative relationship between adolescent personality traits and the quality of the parent-adolescent relationship. Research using behavior genetic methods suggests that the association between personality and parenting is genetically mediated, such that the genetic effects on adolescent personality traits overlap with the genetic effects on parenting behavior. In the current study, the authors examined whether the etiology of this relationship might change depending on the adolescent's personality. Biometrical moderation models were used to test for gene- environment interaction and correlation between personality traits and measures of conflict, regard, and involvement with parents in a sample of 2,452 adolescents (M age = 17.79 years). They found significant moderation of both positive and negative qualities of the parent-adolescent relationship, such that the genetic and environmental variance in relationship quality varied as functions of the adolescent's levels of personality. These findings support the importance of adolescent personality in the development of the quality of the parent-adolescent relationship.

Socialization, a two-fold process,involves passive reception and active participation, impacting personality beyond social influences.Pedagogical support becomes crucial, particularly for children with speech impairments. Using Dembo Rubinstein and Shur's methodologies, the research unveils correlations between children's self-esteem, parental attitudes, and future expectations. Findings underscore the pivotal role of parents in shaping a child's self-perception and future outlook, emphasizing the profound impact of family dynamics on socialization.
