Information seekers are generally on their own to discover and use a research library's growing array of digital collections, and coordination of these collections' development and maintenance is often not optimal. The frequent lack of a conscious design for how collections fit together is of equal concern because it means that research libraries are not making the most of the substantial investments they are making in digital initiatives. This paper proposes a framework for a research library's digital collections that offers integrated discovery and a set of best practices to underpin collection building, federated access, and sustainability. The framework's purpose is to give information seekers a powerful and easy way to search across existing and future collections and to retrieve integrated sets of results. The paper and its recommendations are based upon research undertaken by the author and a team of librarians and technologists at Cornell University Library. The team conducted structured interviews of forty-five library staff members involved in digital collection building at Cornell, studied an inventory of the library's more than fifty digital collections, and evaluated seven existing Open Archives Initiative (OAI) and federated search production or prototype systems. The author will discuss her team's research and the rationale for their recommendations to: present a cohesive view of the library's digital collections for both browsing and searching at the object level; take a programmatic (rather than project-based) approach to digital collection building; require that all new digital collections conform to library-developed and agreed-upon OAI best practices for data providers; and implement organizational structures to sustain the library's digital collections over the long term.

We present here the research work on data mining technologies for complicated attributes relationship in digital library collections. Firstly our work and ideology is introduced as the research ba ckground of this paper. Digital library evaluation is an important topic in information systems domain. We creatively import data mining technologies into it to get an intelligent decision support. But traditional data prediction algorithm didn't work well. This is the problem which would be solved in this paper. Secondly related preliminary research is introduced. We researched on attributes of digital library collections, proposed a parallel discretization algorithm based on z-score theory, and by the discretization algorithm disc overed a complicated condition attribute relation among attributes, it is the reason why traditional data prediction algorithm didn't wor k well. At last a stratified decision tree algorithm for value prediction about digital collection is put forward as the ultimate solution to solve the problem. Stratified attribute concept is imported in this algorithm. It can expand the selection of splitting attribute in decis ion tree from flat information to stereoscopic information, eliminate the influence of complicated condition attribute relationsh ip, nested use existing decision tree algorithms, and solve the bottleneck of data mining application in digital library evaluation.

As the main driving force for the digital transformation of the construction industry, the uncertainty of digital technology in the application process has seriously hindered the high-quality development of the construction industry. In order to promote the wide application of digital technology in the construction industry and clarify the key uncertainties in its application process, this paper identifies the uncertainty index system of digital technology application based on the LDA topic model and literature analysis; the DEMATEL-ISM method is used to construct the multilevel hierarchical structure model of the uncertainty indicators in the application of digital technology to study the mutual influence among the indicators and to find the key uncertainty indicators. The research results show that the uncertainty indicators of the application of digital technology in the construction industry are divided into five levels: policy, industry, personnel, economy and law, and that the perfection of the policy guarantee system is the key uncertainty indicator for the investment return period of digital technology application. The standard contract model for digital technology is a direct uncertainty indicator for the application of digital technology in the construction industry. The results of this study help researchers and practitioners to focus on the key barriers and provide a list of key elements for construction companies to promote the application of next-generation digital technologies to improve digitalization of the construction industry. This study also provides a policy reference to further promote the digital transformation of the construction industry.

Robust and flexible digital collections management and presentation software is essential for creating and delivering digital collections. But digital library technologies and contents are not static. Continual evolution and investment are required to maintain the digital library. Few commercial digital library products are comprehensive and extensible enough to support this evolution. Many of these systems are in early release and have not been used and tested widely. Some require an initial investment in license fees or staff time that we could not afford. None of the products covered the full range of functionality needed for our digital library.

<p>Research problem: The concept of ‘place’ has a clear presence in New Zealand’s digital heritage collections. However, some theorists suggest there is gap between place as a concept relevant to cultural heritage concerns and place as represented by digital technology. This research explores how geospatial and digital technology deployed in New Zealand’s digital collections engage with and conceptualise qualities usually associated with place: social bonds, emotional attachment and subjectivity. Methodology: This two-stage, mixed-methods study has a qualitative weighting. Web Content analysis (WebCA) gathered data from digital collections that demonstrate place inclusive features. An anonymous survey gathered opinions from practitioners who create place-inclusive digital collections. Descriptive statistics developed during quantitative analysis triangulated findings developed during thematic qualitative analysis. Results: New Zealand’s digital collections generate a sense-of-place using strategies that mimic subjective and experience-based understanding of the world. Some collections also engage with place in its ‘common-sense wrapper’ by using the deploying the place in a metadata context or as an overarching thematic structure. New Zealand’s cultural heritage practitioners are very practice-oriented in their consideration of place, and place-inclusive collections are most often impacted by resourcing issues. Implications: This project contributes to the growing ‘body of sustained critical thinking’ focusing on the implications of digital technology for cultural heritage concerns. It suggests place has considerable value and multiple functions within digital heritage collections. When conducting projects using geospatial technology, heritage practitioners can consider supplementing geospatial technology with user-contribution features, content variety, and an emphasis on storytelling to effectively reflect the subjective components of place.</p>

The library has the quality in the service in the collection of the library. Enhancing library service quality is paramount to ensure users derive greater satisfaction and value. The Faculty of Animal Husbandry Library, Universitas Padjadjaran, has special collection in the animal husbandry science can access students, lecturer, and staff. The purposes this research knew the collection quality analysis at the Animal Husbandry Library, Universitas Padjadjaran, with analyse of the physical and digital library collections’ at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Library, Universitas Padjadjaran. The research method used a descriptive quantitative methodology using a survey with 132 participating respondents. The participants comprised students enrolled in the faculty, represented by every academic year, from incoming students to those in their final year. The study procedure encompassed problem identification, questionnaire design, participant selection, questionnaire distribution, and survey data handling. The collected survey data were analyzed descriptively and graphically displayed for simplicity in data interpretation. The survey questions were categorized into four evaluative themes: collection diversity, collection completeness, collection currentness, and collection condition. The outcomes indicated consistent satisfaction from the respondents regarding the evaluated areas. Several recommendations were proposed regarding the physical collection of rare books in sub-optimal conditions. In conclusion, users express satisfaction with the diversity, completeness, timeliness, and condition of both physical and digital collections in the Animal Husbandry Faculty Library, Universitas Padjadjaran. Regular assessment of user satisfaction is necessary as a roadmap for augmenting the quality of library services.

Purpose This study aims to explore how the application of digital technology and information technology can help firms improve their innovation performance and examines the mediating mechanisms of supply chain agility and supply chain integration. Design/methodology/approach This study conducted a questionnaire survey of 320 business managers in an automotive cluster in China and analyzed the collected data using structural equations. Findings Digital technology applications (DTA) have a positive impact on innovation performance, while supply chain agility and integration mediate this impact. In addition, information technology applications (ITA) also has a positive impact on innovation performance, while supply chain agility and integration mediate between the two. Supply chain agility (SCA) and supply chain integration (SCI) significantly enhance the positive impact of technology adoption on firms' innovation performance. Originality/value This study confirms the impact of digital technology and information technology applications on innovation performance and explores the mediating role played by supply chain agility and integration.

This research study examines how digital library technologies are transforming access to information in educational and public settings. With the increasing shift toward online learning and digital resources, digital libraries have become essential tools for students, researchers, and general users. The study aims to understand user awareness, usage patterns, benefits, and the challenges faced while interacting with digital library platforms. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire, while secondary data were gathered from academic articles, reports, and case studies on digital library development. The analysis shows that digital library technologies provide easy and quick access to a wide range of resources, including e-books, journals, research papers, and multimedia content. Users appreciate the convenience, search efficiency, and 24/7 availability offered by these platforms. However, the study also identifies key challenges such as slow internet connectivity, lack of digital skills, limited device access, and occasional technical issues within digital library systems. Overall, the findings reveal that digital libraries play a significant role in improving learning and research by making information more accessible and organized. The study concludes that continued technological improvements, user training, and better digital infrastructure can further enhance the effectiveness of digital library services. Furthermore, the study highlights the growing importance of digital library technologies in bridging the gap between traditional information systems and modern user needs. As educational institutions and libraries continue to adopt digital platforms, the role of user-friendly interfaces, reliable digital infrastructure, and well-organized content becomes increasingly crucial. The findings suggest that with proper technological support and digital literacy programs, digital libraries can significantly enhance knowledge accessibility for diverse user groups. This research encourages institutions to invest in continuous upgrades, user training, and innovative digital tools to ensure that digital libraries remain effective, inclusive, and future-ready.

To investigate the application of virtual digital technology in landscape engineering design, the study adopted the enumeration survey method and observation method. It conducted a comprehensive analysis of the current status and existing challenges of virtual digital technology in landscape engineering design. Additionally, the study provided a detailed description and explanation of the integration between virtual digital technology and landscape engineering design, while exploring its characteristics and application prospects. The findings revealed: (1) In the early design stage, technological integration enhanced design efficiency. The collaborative use of BIM, GIS, and parametric tools enabled a fully digital workflow from conceptual design to construction drawings, reducing design errors and shortening project timelines. (2) After implementation, interactive experiences revolutionized public engagement. AR/VR technologies introduced dynamic interactivity to landscapes, while metaverse platforms expanded the presentation dimensions of virtual landscapes. (3) Smart maintenance promoted sustainability. IoT sensors and AI analytics facilitated real-time plant health monitoring and precise resource management, demonstrating significant advantages. The study identified existing limitations and proposed future directions, aiming to provide new theoretical and practical insights for the research and application of digital technology in landscape engineering design.

Although the field of digital libraries is still young, digital library collections have been built around the world and are being deployed on numerous public web sites. But what is a digital library, exactly? In many respects the best way to characterize the notion is by extension, in terms of actual examples, rather than by intension as in a conventional definition. In a very real sense, digital libraries are whatever people choose to call by the term “digital library.”

We report on focus group feedback regarding the services provided by existing education-related Digital Libraries (DL). Participants provided insight into how they seek educational resources online, and what they perceive to be the shortcomings of existing educational DLs. Along with useful content, social interactions were viewed as important supplements for educational DLs. Such interactions lead to both an online community and new forms of content such as reviews and ratings. Based on our analysis of the focus group feedback, we propose DL 2.0, the next generation of digital library, which integrates social knowledge with DL content.

Technological advancements play a critical role in business, as they transform organizational operations and consumer behavior, reshaping key business practices and creating new market opportunities. Digital and information technologies contribute to enhanced decision-making, operational efficiency, business model innovation and sustained competitive advantage. Technologies, such as the internet and computer networks, facilitate interactive communication and personalization, enabling companies to collaborate with and learn from customers, thereby delivering services tailored to their evolving needs (Hoffman et al., 2022; Rust and Espinoza, 2006). By collecting and storing customer data, including purchase patterns, timing, location and frequency, enterprises can analyze consumer behavior, enabling the provision of individualized products and services (Rust and Espinoza, 2006). Today, data analytics and business intelligence tools transform vast quantities of data into actionable insights about market trends and customers (Sun et al., 2018). Analysis of spending patterns and transactional data yields a sophisticated understanding of customer preferences and financial behaviors, enabling more effective product recommendations and marketing strategies (Theodorakopoulos and Theodoropoulou, 2024), thereby accelerating the development of new products and services.Digital transformation continues to strengthen firms’ competitiveness by automating repetitive tasks, thereby enhancing operational efficiency (Shahid Iqbal et al., 2018). Moreover, companies have been increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) applications into their business model. Startups can leverage AI to develop innovative business models aligned with environmental sustainability principles (Jorzik et al., 2024).Contemporary research at the intersection of business and digital technology encompasses several key areas. First, AI has emerged as a central focus, with studies examining its role in organizational decision-making, addressing ethical challenges posed by algorithmic bias and exploring new frameworks for effective human–AI collaboration (Enholm et al., 2021). Second, big data analytics research investigates critical issues of data governance and the cultural transformation necessary for organizations to become genuinely data-driven (Aseeri and Kang, 2022). Third, digital transformation represents a significant research domain (Kraus et al., 2022; Nguyen et al., 2024), with scholars examining implementation strategies, the pivotal role of leadership and approaches to managing organizational resistance during technological change (Martínez-Falcó et al., 2025; Porfírio et al., 2021). Fourth, as organizations become increasingly dependent on digital infrastructure, cybersecurity research examines emerging threat patterns and quantifies the economic consequences of security breaches (Corallo et al., 2020). Finally, emerging technologies such as blockchain continue to attract scholarly attention, particularly regarding their capacity to enhance transparency and establish trust in applications ranging from supply chain management to financial services (Frizzo-Barker et al., 2020).While current literature provides a robust understanding of the application of digital technology and its influence on business performance, several avenues present opportunities to advance the field. First, there is a pressing need to develop ethical AI frameworks that address the risk of bias, discrimination and privacy violations (Enholm et al., 2021). Second, investigating the convergence of technologies offers a promising direction for understanding their synergistic effects on creating intelligent systems (Wang et al., 2022). Third, from a macro perspective, advanced technology enables innovations that align with environmental sustainability goals (Kumar et al., 2025), which points to the importance of further research on green technologies for sustainability (Le-Dinh et al., 2025). Fourth, conceptual frameworks for integrating new technologies into businesses remain nascent, as academic research primarily relies on firm-level theories such as the resource-based view theory, dynamic capabilities theory and technology-organization-environment theory (Zhang et al., 2020; Mandal, 2018). Fifth, from a management standpoint, business-IT alignment represents a critical research area and a major concern for company managers, as many firms still treat AI as a separate activity operating in parallel to the business team (Yeow et al., 2018). Maintaining business-IT alignment is challenging yet essential to ensure that IT solutions adequately address the constantly evolving business needs (Andre et al., 2024). Finally, more research that comprehensively examines how consumers perceive, adopt and utilize digital technologies is crucial, as it can help businesses develop and implement effective digital strategies.The Journal of Trade Science welcomes submissions that explore the directions mentioned above, as well as others that address contemporary technological trends and issues. The matter of the effectiveness of applying smart technologies in agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be of interest to the academic community, regardless of territorial affiliation. The relevance of the research is in the need to inform farmers on the efficiency of such technologies and how to use them. Economic valuation, cost-benefit analysis were used to compare traditional and digital agricultural technologies in grain production. Wealthy farmers from developed countries widely use digital technology, reducing operating costs for wage labour and productive resources. In this research, the authors attempted to prove the hypothesis of significant economic and environmental efficiency in the application of precision technologies. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the results of the application of precision farming tools from an economic standpoint, these results can contribute to the study of the efficiency of digital technologies at the global and local levels. This research displays that with application of modern digital technologies in production, under certain circumstances, a farm can increase wheat yield by at least 25-30%. Gross profit with traditional technologies in agriculture amounted to 31 US dollars per hectare, while application of digital technologies brought 54 US dollars per hectare.

In today's information age, digital signal processing technology with a new form of technology has been applied to various fields of society, and with its own significant advantages, in each field has played a powerful role. In order to ensure the air quality of living and working environment, the primary task is to analyze the main pollutants in the air. In addition to traditional chemical monitoring methods, digital signal processing methods are more common to detect pollutants, but filtering technology is needed to overcome the noise interference in the detection process. In this paper, the digital filter technology in digital signal processing is described in detail, and the model of digital signal in gas detection principle is simply abstracted, and the main application of digital signal processing technology in gas detection is described at last. At the same time, the paper analyzes the application of digital signal processing technology in gas detection, hoping to provide some help to the application of this technology and the good detection and treatment of gas pollution. Finally, a signal processing device for differential gas detection and its gas detection system are introduced.
