Fuzzy‐based secure exchange of digital data using watermarking in NSCT‐RDWT‐SVD domain

Cellular automata based color image watermarking using non sub sampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) is presented in this paper. Game of life (GOL) cellular automata is used to scramble binary watermark so that no one can recover the watermark without secret scrambling keys. Because of the salient features like multiscale, multidirection and shift invariance of NSCT, 2-level NSCT is applied to red, green and blue component of RGB cover image. Most of the perceptual content of an image focuses on low frequency subband of NSCT and the singular values taken from low frequency subband have certain stability. So a modest change in the singular values taken from low frequency subband of NSCT is applicable. In this proposed scheme, each singular value of scrambled binary watermark is embedded in fixed location of singular value matrix of low frequency subbands of NSCT of red, green and blue components. The scheme offers security, imperceptibility and robustness against various image processing and geometric attacks like Gaussian white noise, salt and pepper noise, median filtering, JPEG compression, cropping and rotation. The proposed scheme is compared with existing watermarking schemes in terms of Peak Signal to Noise ratio (PSNR), Normalized Correlation (NC)and provides satisfactory performance than other schemes.

In this paper, a novel image watermarking scheme using an encrypted kinoform in the hybrid nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) domain is presented. In the scheme, a watermark is firstly transformed into an encrypted kinoform with fractional Fourier transform and Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm. Then the host image is decomposed with NSCT and the low frequency sub-band is divided into nonoverlapping blocks. SVD is applied to every block. The kinoform is embedded into the low frequency NSCT coefficients by modifying the largest singular value of each block. To withstand geometric attacks, the geometric distortion parameters of the attacked watermarked image are computed first by the Zernike moment-based geometric correction method in the detection process. Then the mark kinoform is extracted from the recovered image. In comparison with other method, the proposed watermarking scheme offers better performances for imperceptibility. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed image watermarking is not only invisible but also robust against a variety of attacks including scaling, rotation, flipping, noise addition, filtering, JPEG compression, etc.

Image compression is preferred for less storage space, sending image on the internet and often for medical imaging in health industry, technical drawings or comics. Because of wide popularity of sharing media in internet, compression plays a major role in the watermarking algorithm. This paper presents a compression technique through image watermarking algorithm based on Non-subsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). NSCT and SVD both are explored for image watermarking. For image compression, only Singular Value Decomposition is used. The NSCT can give more accurate coefficients of the edges and contours in image which is shift invariant. After getting the coefficients from NSCT decomposition SVD is applied to break the matrix in a convenient way so that image compression can be done without losing meaningful data. The compressed singular values of NSCT decomposed coefficients of cover image are added with the compressed singular values of NSCT decomposed coefficient of gray key image. This helps to improve the performance of the compression using watermarking method. In terms of PSNR and compression ratio, the performance of this scheme is analyzed. The proposed algorithm is robust and suitable for copyright protection and data transmission against compression applications.

In this paper, a novel medical image watermarking (MIW) technique for tele ‐ medicine applications is proposed. In this approach homomorphic transform (HT), redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) transforms are successfully utilized for developing an effective watermarking technique. Reflectance component of medical host image is obtained using HT, on which RDWT decomposition and SVD are applied. Similarly medical watermark image is processed with RDWT and SVD. Singular values (Svs) were used for embedding the watermark image into host image. 2‐D chaotic Arnold transform (AT) is used for providing extra security to the watermark image by encrypting the watermarked image. Moreover, proposed technique is also tested for several wavelet families. Robustness and imperceptibility of the proposed technique is enhanced as depicted in experimental results under various attacks. Furthermore, better robustness is attained from proposed technique on comparing it with other formerly reported schemes.

The fast progress in digital techniques and internet utilization brought new problems viz. copyright protection and authentication of the multimedia data namely image, audio and video. The watermarking technique is widely used as a potential solution to address these issues by incorporating additional information called "watermark" into the data of multimedia. An optimal hybrid watermarking method is introduced by exploiting the properties of nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and singular value decomposition (SVD) for uncompressed videos in this paper. The proposed video watermarking algorithm is an additive and non-blind, which necessitates the presence of every frame of original video for watermark extraction / detection. In this approach, the original video frame and the watermark are decomposed simultaneously by nonsubsampled contourlet transform. The singular values of each frame of original video are altered with that of singular values of corresponding watermark with appropriate scaling factor. Here, different watermarks are incorporated in different scenes of original video to enhance the robustness for attacks. Experimental results show that the combination of NSCT-SVD based hybrid watermarking algorithms exhibit a better imperceptibility and robustness to various attacks, namely, rotation, cropping, color to gray scale conversion, salt and pepper noise, and frame dropping. The performance of this method is examined with the existing watermarking methods, and observed a better performance in quality of video frame and robustness to various attacks.

This paper proposes a new scheme for secure digital watermarking and copyright protection of videos. The approach presented here is based on redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) and singular value decomposition (SVD). The video frames and the watermark are decomposed by RDWT, and the watermark is embedded into the subbands of the I-frames. The singular values of the I-frames are modified with the singular values of the visual watermark. Meanwhile, the watermark embedding strength is adjusted adaptively using the noise visibility function (NVF) with local properties. The approach is efficient and appropriate for real-time applications. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach has good performance in preserving high quality of the video, and the watermark can be extracted accurately after various attacks.

In telemedicine, the authenticity and integrity of medical images must be safeguarded. Copyright protection is provided through robust medical image watermarking (MIW) methods, and the original pictures may be retrieved at the receiver's end. But existing algorithms have limits in terms of balancing the tradeoff between robustness, imperceptibility, and embedded capacity. Aside from that, most MIW algorithms aren't built for color images. This article proposes a novel MIW technique based on the redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) with singular value decomposition (SVD) to increase their performance in preserving medical color picture information. First and foremost, the RDWT -SVD is a reliable solution as compared to the conventional DWT. Second, modifying the wavelet domain coefficient ensures that integer values in the spatial domain change and that the watermarking process is reversible. Finally, the embedding approach makes full advantage of the original image's features and watermarking. The simulation results showed that the proposed method decreases the amount of original picture change and improves imperceptibility as compared to the conventional approaches.

In this paper, a novel image watermarking method is proposed which is based on discrete wave transformation (DWT), Hessenberg decomposition (HD), and singular value decomposition (SVD). First, in the embedding process, the host image is decomposed into a number of sub-bands through multi-level DWT, and the resulting coefficients of which are then used as the input for HD. The watermark is operated on the SVD at the same time. The watermark is finally embedded into the host image by the scaling factor. Fruit fly optimization algorithm, one of the natural-inspired optimization algorithms is devoted to find the scaling factor through the proposed objective evaluation function. The proposed method is compared to other research works under various spoof attacks, such as the filter, noise, JPEG compression, JPEG2000 compression, and sharpening attacks. The experimental results show that the proposed image watermarking method has a good trade-off between robustness and invisibility even for the watermarks with multiple sizes.

Digital watermarking is an emerging solution for securing multimedia products from illegal or unauthorized manipulation. Robustness and visual imperceptibility are two characteristics of watermarking, which can be achieved by utilizing various transform techniques. Our proposed robust watermarking technique used a hybrid transform composed of three transform techniques: nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT), all phase discrete cosine biorthogonal transform (APDCBT), and singular value decomposition (SVD). NSCT has outstanding shift-invariant, and directional properties; its low-frequency band of an image contains a large amount of visual information. Besides, APDCBT can attenuate the high-frequency components, and its direct current (DC) components have more visual details of an image. For gathering these DC components, we applied APDCBT on the low-frequency band of NSCT of a cover image after 8 × 8 block portioning. Then the binary watermark is inserted into perceptually significant DC components using SVD. The feasibility of the proposed technique is justified using computer simulation as well as this scheme is passed through imperceptibility and robustness test. Finally, a comparative analysis demonstrates that our proposed method achieves satisfactory improvements over the existing two watermarking techniques.

Day by day, the transmission or sharing of digital information online is increasing due to the fact that Internet usage has become somewhat of an addiction for the majority of people. This results in larger copyright violation problems. Nowadays, most of the data or information is being transmitted in the form of digital images or videos, which are rather simple for the violators of copyright to forge or fake and then share for profit. Thus, digital watermarking came into existence as a possible solution to address these violations of copyright. This article proposes a new blind video watermarking (BVW) using redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) in singular value decomposition (SVD) domain, which utilizes the advantages of both RDWT and SVD to embed and extract the watermark information into the cover video without degrading the quality of the watermark. In addition, an efficient meta‐heuristic optimization with multi‐objective optimization (MOO) is employed to further optimize the proposed RDWT‐SVD approach. Further, various attacks were applied to the watermarked frame to disclose the robustness of proposed BVW using RDWT‐SVD with MOO approach. Extensive simulations on several test videos with comparison to the conventional BVW methodologies exhibit the transcendency of the proposed BVW using RDWT‐SVD with MOO approach in terms of watermarking quality evaluation metrics such as peak signal‐to‐noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index, normalized correlation, and even that of root mean square error as well.

Image watermarking in wavelet domain has been emerged as an interesting area of research. However, classical wavelet transform, like DWT, lacks in providing directional information and is shift sensitive. These limitations can be overcome with the use of NSCT (Nonsubsampled contourlet transform), which is shift invariant and provides rich directional information. Therefore, in this work, we propose NSCT based image watermarking using MSVD (Multiresolution singular value decomposition). High directionality of NSCT provides better reconstruction of watermarked images, whereas MSVD provides invariance against geometrical attacks. Experiments have been performed over benchmark datasets. Qualitative and quantitative analysis in terms of PSNR (Peak signal to noise ratio) and CC (Correlation coefficients) shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This contribution applies tools from the information theory and soft computing (SC) paradigms to the embedding and extraction of watermarks in aerial remote sensing (RS) images to protect copyright. By the time 5G came along, Internet usage had already grown exponentially. Regarding copyright protection, the most important responsibility of the digital image watermarking (DIW) approach is to provide authentication and security for digital content. In this paper, our main goal is to provide authentication and security to aerial RS images transmitted over the Internet by the proposal of a hybrid approach using both the redundant discrete wavelet transform (RDWT) and the singular value decomposition (SVD) schemes for DIW. Specifically, SC is adopted in this work for the numerical optimization of critical parameters. Moreover, 1-level RDWT and SVD are applied on digital cover image and singular matrices of LH and HL sub-bands are selected for watermark embedding. Further selected singular matrices SLH and SHL are split into 3×3 non-overlapping blocks, and diagonal positions are used for watermark embedding. Three-level symmetric encryption with low computational cost is used to ensure higher watermark security. A hybrid grasshopper–BAT (G-BAT) SC-based optimization algorithm is also proposed in order to achieve high quality DIW outcomes, and a broad comparison against other methods in the state-of-the-art is provided. The experimental results have demonstrated that our proposal provides high levels of imperceptibility, robustness, embedding capacity and security when dealing with DIW of aerial RS images, even higher than the state-of-the-art methods.

A novel method of semi-blind image watermarking is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is performed by using slant transform along with lifting wavelet transform and singular value decomposition. Host images are decomposed using Lifting wavelet transform. Singular value decomposition is applied on its selected sub band. Singular value decomposed cover image is watermarked using slant transformed watermark image. The method focuses on invisible watermarking, performance evaluation metrics and imperceptibility of watermarked image. Scaling factor is varied from 0.001 to 0.1 to observe the performance of proposed method.

This paper contrasts the implementation of several chaos-based digital image watermarking techniques in terms of imperceptibility, robustness, security and complexity. Most spatial and transform domains methods have been used namely Least Significant Bit (LSB), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Redundant Discrete Wavelet Transform (RDWT) with Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) mathematical tool which has enhanced embedding capability. Both continuous and discrete chaotic maps namely Arnold's Chaotic Map (ACM), Logistic Chaotic map (LCM) and Lorenz Chaotic Map (LoCM) are included to result in secure schemes. Exhaustive series of tests have been performed along with a range of evaluation metrics for imperceptibility evaluation. In addition, Robustness of all the techniques has also been confirmed by applying a variety of attacks on the resulting images. This study will help to adopt the most suitable methods for a given application as sufficient number of test images have been utilized.

To compromise between imperceptibility and robustness property of robust image watermarking technique, a RDWT-DCT based blind image watermarking scheme using Arnold scrambling is presented in this paper. Firstly, RDWT (Redundant Discrete Wavelet Transform) is applied to each gray scale cover image block after the image is decomposed into fixed size non overlapping blocks. Secondly, the binary watermark logo is encrypted by Arnold chaotic map and reshaped to a sequence to improve the security of the logo. In the subsequent step, DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) is employed on each LH subband of the non-overlapping host image block. Finally, after zigzag scanning of each DCT block a binary bit of watermark is embedded into each block by adjusting some middle significant AC coefficients using repetition code. Experimental results show that robustness is achieved by recovering satisfactory watermark data from the reconstructed cover image after applying common geometric transformation attacks (like rotation, cropping, scaling, shearing and deletion of lines or column operation etc.), common enhancement technique attacks (like lowpass filtering, histogram equalization, sharpening, gamma correction, noise addition etc.) and JPEG compression attacks. The proposed scheme is also tested to verify the robustness performance against standard benchmark software "Checkmark" and satisfactory results are achieved against the Checkmark attacks such as Hard and Soft Thresholding, Template Removal, Warping, Dithering, Remodulation and Downsampling/Upsampling etc.
