Group Decision Support System Using The Analytic Network Process and Borda Methods for Selecting

The online system is rapidly developing and widely used for companies to market their products. The products can always be more diverse and abundant. However, it creates difficulties for the company to provide recommendations to users about products which are suitable with users interest. This condition encourages a recommendation system. One of the popular methods of this recommendation system is Collaborative Filtering (CF) by using rating-based and ranking-based approaches. Some of the ranking-based methods are Copeland method and Borda method. Both methods use a user-rating approach limited to the user preference profiling processes. Therefore, this research proposes the use of the user-rating to get the normalized rating frequency (NRF). Normalization process was done through the calculation of the frequency of a user-rating, which eventually generated a product ranking for recommendations to users. Experimental results of the NRF method can improve the performance of the recommendation system. This can be seen from the recommendations produced by the NRF method was more relevant in accordance with the wishes of the user, which is indicated by the average value of Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain (NDCG) higher than Copeland and Borda methods. In addition, the NRF method has a faster computation time with a simpler algorithm than the Copeland and Borda methods.

This research aims to evaluate the performance of contract employees using the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment and Borda methods. The Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment approach uses mathematical calculations, thereby producing precise and accurate results. The Borda technique is useful because it efficiently aggregates diverse rankings of alternatives through voting groups that combine many preferences. The choice of these two methodologies has the ability to produce more efficient solutions to complex problems by guiding or making decisions more quickly in resolving problems. The determining criteria for assessing the performance of contract employees are punctuality or attendance, skills, knowledge, communication, decision making, discipline, adaptation to the work environment, work safety and initiative. The results of the calculation process from the ranking combination of the weighted aggregate sum product assessment and the borda method were obtained by placing alternative 5 as an employee who is worthy of being a permanent employee and getting the highest score of 0.288. All calculations using this method can be a guide in making decisions at PT SMART Tbk Surabaya, because the accuracy of contract employee performance evaluations has a significant influence on achieving company goals in the permanent employee recruitment process.

در کشورهای درحال‌توسعه، سطوح توسعه به دلیل رشد سریع و نامتقارن و عدم توسعه متناسب مناطق و اختصاص غیراصولی منابع و امکانات به مناطق برخوردار و محرومیت سایر مناطق بخصوص مناطق روستایی دستخوش نابرابری‌های چشمگیر در سطح منطقه‌ای گردیده که در موارد بسیاری نیز در حال افزایش است و سبب عدم توسعه آن‌ها در تمام ابعاد شده است. در پژوهش توصیفی- تحلیلی حاضر، برای ارزیابی شهرستان‌های استان لرستان (در بازه زمانی سال 1390) به لحاظ شاخص‌های توسعه‌مندی زیرساخت‌های انرژی و ارتباطات، از مدل پرومته 2 که به رتبهبندی گسسته گزینهها تأکید دارد، استفاده شده است. شاخص‌های مستخرج از منابع رسمی منتشر شده (نظیر فرهنگ آبادی‌های استان لرستان) به صورت نسبت تنظیم شدهاند و برای وزندهی به آن‌ها از روش تحلیل شبکهای استفاده گردیده است. در رویکرد پژوهش و با استفاده از ابزار VP ، ارزیابی و دید یکپارچه نسبت به شاخص‌های توسعه و شهرستان‌های استان (به‌مثابه گزینهها)، مطابق با تحلیلهای GAIA و GAIAWEB عملی می‌شود. لذا از نرم‌افزارهایVisual PROMETHEE و Super Decisions برای تحلیل دادهها استفاده شده است. مطابق با نتایج کلی دست آمده از مقایسه نسبی شهرستان‌ها، تنها 4 شهرستان دارای ارزش خالص مثبت بوده‌اند که در این میان، شهرستان بروجرد با جریان خالص 0.089 ، بالاترین میزان برخورداری از امکانات زیرساختی را در نواحی روستایی خود دارد.

Lecturer performance is influential in increasing student learning motivation. Each lecturer has a different character, nature and way of teaching. This causes students to choose and determine the best lecturer according to the students themselves. One of the Decision Support Systems (DSS) in assessing the best lecturers is using the ANP and TOPSIS methods. The Analytic Network Process (ANP) method is used to determine the weight of the criteria according to decision making, then the TOPSIS method is used to determine the rank / achievement of lecturers. This decision support system is expected to help and provide an alternative in assessing lecturer achievement. The results of this study will be in the form of an information system which is expected to assist in processing data by designing the best lecturer assessment information system using the ANP and TOPSIS methods.

Higher education is a subsystem that includes a program of national education diploma, bachelor, masters, specialist and doctoral degrees held by college. universities are obliged to provide education, research and community service. One element in the administration of higher education are the lecturer. Lecturers are academic personnel responsible for planning and executing the learning process, assess learning outcomes, conduct coaching and training, and conduct research and community service. Based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 Year 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers, Article 51 Paragraph (1) Item b, the professor is entitled to promotions and awards in accordance with academic performance. This study used the ANP method (Analytical Network Process). By using Superdecision software. The criteria used in this study is the teaching, research and community service. The results of this research is the relationship between teaching, research and community service related to the outstanding faculty in the election where the percentages in selecting outstanding faculty teaching performance at the first level = 22%, Personality = 18%, Teaching = 21%, 21% Research = , Devotion community = 16%.

The essential goal of corporate finance is to maximize corporate value while reducing a firm’s financial risks. Corporate financing decision is a kind of multi-criteria based group decision making that embodies major approaches to handle qualitative criteria and quantitative limitations. However, in literature related to financing decision making, very little research uses decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and analytic network process (ANP) methods to consider the impact and dependency of its factors, or uses Goal programming (GP) to find the satisfactory financing decision under the related financial constraints. This study proposes an integrated group decision making support (GDMS) model to assist corporate financing group decision makers (DMs) in obtaining a satisfactory group solution. ANP, DEMATEL and GP are combined in this GDMS model. By using this model, the group DMs can systemically structure a multi-criteria network framework and derive priority weights of those criteria, and then deal with the quantitative financial constraints for a satisfactory group solution. An illustrative case is demonstrated for the effectiveness and practicability of this GDMS model.

The government's limited budget in managing the condition of the road pavement causes the government to compile a priority ranking of the roads to be handled. Each decision maker has a different assessment for each factor or criterion that is considered in determining the path. This problem requires the same perception from decision makers in choosing road handling priorities. Priority by determining more than one criteria can be done using Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) analysis such as Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP). This study seeks to obtain priority handling of the Jalan Bts. Tapteng/Tapsel – Batang Toru – Bts. Sidempuan City using AHP and ANP methods. The criteria used are traffic volume, level of road damage, government policies, handling costs, and area development. The segmentation of the road segment is applied in this study into 9 sub-sections to obtain a uniform alternative length of the road. The results show that the most influential criteria in road handling using the AHP method are traffic volume (0.428), followed by policy (0.192), cost (0.187), road conditions (0.141), and area development (0.052). While in the ANP method, the criteria with the largest weight are traffic volume (0.301), followed by policies (0.196), costs (0.194), road conditions (0.174), and area development (0.134). The results of the two methods also determine the priority of different road handling roads. The results of the ANP method are expected to be a more objective priority due to the consideration of feedback on the elements and clusters themselves.

This study aims to apply the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method as a decision support tool in determining the eligibility of education grant recipients in North Sumatra Province. The background of this research arises from the large number of grant applicants compared to the available budget, as well as the absence of clear and objective evaluation standards. The ANP method was chosen because it allows the interdependence between assessment criteria such as institutional feasibility, performance and achievement, social and educational impact, and accountability and transparency to be analyzed comprehensively. Data were obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation at the North Sumatra Provincial Education Office. The results of the ANP model show that the criterion with the highest weight is accountability and transparency (0.44), followed by social and educational impact (0.31). Among the three alternatives, community-based education foundations (A2) obtained the highest total weight (0.30), indicating that they are the most eligible recipients of education grants. The implementation of the ANP-based decision support system produces valid and consistent ranking results (CR < 0.1), enabling faster, fairer, and more transparent decision-making. Therefore, the ANP method contributes significantly to improving governance, objectivity, and accountability in the distribution of education grants in North Sumatra Province.

The Presidential Election is one of the key elements in democracy which is regulated by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945). General elections (elections) in Indonesia are held every five years, and the people have the right to vote to elect a presidential candidate who they consider worthy of leading the country during the next term of office. The Presidential election process involves various stages, including nomination by political parties or individuals, political campaigns, debates between candidates, and the voting or election stage. The presidential election (presidential election) is held simultaneously with the legislative election. It is important to note that elections are the foundation for democratic governance, ensuring the active participation of the people in determining the direction and leadership of the country. The Presidential Election in Indonesia is a manifestation of the implementation of democratic principles in the country's political system. The AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method and the ANP (Analytic Network Process) method are methods that can be used in making decisions. A method developed by mathematician Thomas L. Saaty to help solve very complex problems by breaking down various decisions into several smaller criteria. The AHP and ANP methods can overcome assessments based on subjective viewpoints and personal preferences, and transform them into weights with consistent and rational values. Super Decisions is a tool developed specifically to support AHP and ANP calculation applications. Super Decisions provides useful tools in analyzing and processing comparison tables, performing consistency calculations, and assisting in AHP and ANP based decision making.

In this paper a new approach to assess companies' competitiveness performance in an efficient and reliable way is presented. It introduces a rigorous methodology, based on multi-criteria techniques, which seeks to assist managers of companies within a specific industrial sector in providing information about their relative position in order to define improvement action plans. The approach combines the use of the analytic network process (ANP) method with the balanced scorecard (BSC) to achieve competitiveness indicators. The ANP method allows the aggregation of experts’ judgments on each of the selected indicators used into one company competitiveness index (CCI). To demonstrate the goodness of the methodology, a case study of the plastic sector of Venezuela has been carried out. Three companies have been analysed using the CCI proposed. The participating experts agreed that the methodology is useful and an improvement from current competitiveness measurement techniques. They found the results obtained coherent and the use of resources significantly less than in other methods.

Supplier sustainability performance evaluation using the analytic network process

Sustainable risk management is becoming widely accepted, making the incorporation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues into strategic planning areas crucial to a responsible business philosophy. This article aims to rank organizational sub-risks with a focus on sustainability, offering a methodology based on the analytical network process (ANP) method to improve decision-making and reduce misrepresentation in qualitative evaluation criteria. An integrated approach is presented, starting with the characterization of five risk typologies based on global reports and then prioritizing risks and sub-risks using the ANP method. The sustainability sub-risks with the highest level of prioritization for each risk typology are (1) massive data fraud or theft incident (technological risk), (2) deficit in economic growth (economic risk), (3) water depletion (environmental risk), (4) lack of ethics in the conduct of business (geopolitical risk), and (5) chemical safety (social risk). Finally, a cosine similarity analysis is developed to compare the results obtained with the results of a risk prioritization performed with the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method. The differences between the methods generate a similar risk prioritization; the high similarity indicates the consistency of the relationships and the prioritization of the criteria showing convergence. It is essential to mention that the results should be interpreted cautiously, considering the specific context in which this methodology is developed, and we recommend a periodic verification of risks and sub-risks.

The ongoing water deficiencies in arid and semi-arid regions in conjunction with certain nutritional requirements highlight the importance of pinpointing the most optimal locations for cultivating agricultural products with the highest yield. Given the importance of this issue, this study proceeds to prepare soil fertility maps for corn production (Zea Mays L.) in Fars province, Iran. Initially, fuzzy membership functions (FMs) are employed to prepare fuzzy maps for each layer in the geographic information system (GIS), after which feature selection algorithms are deployed to designate the most relevant layers. The layers are then assigned specific weights obtained using a combination of analytic network process (ANP) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) methods to prepare soil fertility maps. The input data consist of organic content (OC), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), and copper (Cu). Inverse distance weighting (IDW) is utilized to procure interpolation maps for each layer. Thereafter, zoning maps are obtained using FMs. Ultimately, ANP and AHP models are once again deployed to generate the final overlayered fertility maps for corn production. The results show that combining the ANP method with feature selection (OC, K, Fe, and P) results in higher accuracy than solely applying the AHP method. Thus, incorporating feature selection and ANP methods with both inter and intra-group pair-wise comparison would result in more accurate fertility maps for corn production with lower costs and time complexity.

Performance evaluation is an important part of the enterprises' strategic management. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) can provide an analytical means to determine the importance of the identified factors. The AHP method assumes that the factors presented in the hierarchical structure are independent; however, this assumes that may be inappropriate in light of certain internal and external environment effects. Therefore, it is necessary to employ of analytic network Process (ANP) method. The traditional financial method cannot fully reflect the performance of enterprises, as a result of which the balanced scorecard (BSC) method was developed. However, BSC also some disadvantages. By giving power weights on indicators, ANP method can make up those disadvantages. The objective of this study is to construct an approach based on the ANP and balanced BSC for creating a method of enterprises' performance evaluation.

According to the interrelation among indices of human resources management level evaluation system, and it’s difficulty to define object precisely. In this article, we combined the method of network analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, then implemented comprehensive evaluation towards the power supply enterprise human resources management. Firstly, the ANP method is used to determine the weight of every index, overcome the defects that hierarchical analysis cannot reflect the interrelation between indicators, and then construct the fuzzy comprehensive assessment model based on analytic network process that used to evaluate the uncertainty of human resources management ability. Finally, using the Super Decisions software to implement example analysis verifies the effectiveness and scientificalness of the evaluation model.
