Introduction to artificial intelligence

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. and Greetings.I am pleased and honored to welcome you at the First International Conference on Computer Science and Applied Mathematic (ICCSAM 2018), which was held this year by AMIK and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar in collaboration with the Indonesian Computer and Information Professional Association (IPKIN), Indonesian Mathematical Society (INDOMS) and Bank Muamalat. As Chair of the Foundation, I would like to convey a greeting Welcome to Parapat City Lake Toba to presenters from various countries and especially those I respect for the presence of scientists in the field of Computer and Mathematical Sciences and industry practitioners in the 2018 ICCSAM event.I see that this activity is designed to enhance the exchange of knowledge and new discoveries in computer science and mathematics and related fields in industry. I hope that scientists in the field of computer science and mathematics and those who work in the industry can share knowledge and work together as a team that has mutual relations with each other. I am very pleased to say that the theme of this conference, “Advancing Computability Innovation” is very much in line with the objectives of AMIK and STIKOM conferences and missions, namely “to become a Science and Technology based Study Program that meets industrial needs and functions as a research center in Information Data Science. The conference was held in response to output and aoutcame which had a significant contribution in the field of computer science and mathematics as an inseparable unit of science towards the development of local and global industries. It is our happiness and honor to welcome distinguished professors present to convey their expertise at this conference.I hope this meeting will enable the development of productive dialogue between participants from various countries. They also provide invaluable opportunities for networking among participants, institutions and industries. HRMS tools are the application that helps any organization to set up an environment that helps them to easily view their employees, their activities, and other work-related jobs. This application is available to everyone where a user can register into the application with the required details and access to the credentials. The admin then can add the employees of their organization and give them roles and responsibilities. The admin can also give updated responsibilities to HR who can then make the required changes. The HR is responsible for recruiting the employees and also he can add upon the employees into the organization. The employees can look up their inbox, dashboard, recruit, personal details on the application. They can also get a help and support system which they can contact if there are any requirements. They can edit their profile anytime, can search for any requirements, and can get news feed from the organization. These are some of the functionalities of the application. Apart from that they can also view their salary slips, can apply for a leave application, and so on. With the advancement in the development of computers, HRMS tools are developed in such a way that humans can interact with it. The recent developments in the field of computer science especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence(AI) have opened wide doors for the development of efficient HRMS tools thereby reducing human efforts. In this paper, an analysis has been made between the HRMS tools developed with AI and HRMS tools without AI and based on the suitability the applications of these HRMS tools are drawn. Biochemical origin of the schizophrenia and of the behavioral pathologies of schizoid type

The work done by some authors in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, and multi-agent systems foresees an approximation of these disciplines and those of the social sciences, namely, in the areas of anthropology, sociology, and psychology. Much of this work has been done in terms of the humanization of the behavior of virtual entities by expressing human-like feelings and emotions. Some authors (e.g., Ortony, Clore & Collins, 1988; Picard, 1997) suggest lines of action considering ways to assign emotions to machines. Attitudes like cooperation, competition, socialization, and trust are explored in many different areas (Arthur, 1994; Challet & Zhang, 1998; Novais et al., 2004). Other authors (e.g., Bazzan et al., 2000; Castelfranchi, Rosis & Falcone, 1997) recognize the importance of modeling virtual entity mental states in an anthropopathic way. Indeed, an important motivation to the development of this project comes from the author’s work with artificial intelligence in the area of knowledge representation and reasoning, in terms of an extension to the language of logic programming, that is, the Extended Logic Programming (Alferes, Pereira & Przymusinski, 1998; Neves, 1984). On the other hand, the use of null values to deal with imperfect knowledge (Gelfond, 1994; Traylor & Gelfond, 1993) and the enforcement of exceptions to characterize the behavior of intelligent systems (Analide, 2004) is another justification for the adoption of these formalisms in this knowledge arena. Knowledge representation, as a way to describe the real world based on mechanical, logical, or other means, will always be a function of the systems ability to describe the existent knowledge and their associated reasoning mechanisms. Indeed, in the conception of a knowledge representation system, it must be taken into attention different instances of knowledge.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an increasingly important and popular topic not just within the field of Computer Science but also the world at large. One of the current challenges in the field of AI is multi-agent planning, of which Swarm Intelligence (SI) is a possible solution drawing from natural systems as an inspiration. While individual agents in a flock or swarm are mostly simplistic and similar in nature, together they can develop extremely complex and emergent behaviour. A very well-known implementation of Swarm Intelligence is “Boids”. Bird like objects first introduced by Craig Reynolds in 1987 that flock and move together based on the 3 core steering behaviours of Separation, Alignment, and Cohesion. However, even current work on boids tend to let individual agents be “reactive” in nature, giving instructions to themselves based on their current state and their observations of the environment around them. This project aims to study how adding an additional layer on top of traditional flocking behaviour, by making agents “socially aware” through actively sharing opinions with each other, will affect the dynamics of a flock.

2024 6th International Conference on Computer Science and Intelligent Communication (CSIC 2024) was held in Vancouver, Canada during December 21-22, 2024. This conference provides a forum for accessing to the most up-to-date and authoritative knowledge from both industrial and academic worlds, sharing best practice in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, information engineering, and communication technology. A key aspect of this conference is the strong mixture of academia and industry. All papers in this proceeding were subject to peer-review by conference committee members and international reviewers. The papers were selected for the proceedings based on quality and relevance to the conference. Book synopsis: Over the past century, educational psychologists and researchers have posited many theories to explain how individuals learn, i.e. how they acquire, organize and deploy knowledge and skills. The 20th century can be considered the century of psychology on learning and related fields of interest (such as motivation, cognition, metacognition etc.) and it is fascinating to see the various mainstreams of learning, remembered and forgotten over the 20th century and note that basic assumptions of early theories survived several paradigm shifts of psychology and epistemology. Beyond folk psychology and its naive theories of learning, psychological learning theories can be grouped into some basic categories, such as behaviorist learning theories, connectionist learning theories, cognitive learning theories, constructivist learning theories, and social learning theories. Learning theories are not limited to psychology and related fields of interest but rather we can find the topic of learning in various disciplines, such as philosophy and epistemology, education, information science, biology, and – as a result of the emergence of computer technologies – especially also in the field of computer sciences and artificial intelligence. As a consequence, machine learning struck a chord in the 1980s and became an important field of the learning sciences in general. As the learning sciences became more specialized and complex, the various fields of interest were widely spread and separated from each other; as a consequence, even presently, there is no comprehensive overview of the sciences of learning or the central theoretical concepts and vocabulary on which researchers rely. The Encyclopedia of the Sciences of Learning provides an up-to-date, broad and authoritative coverage of the specific terms mostly used in the sciences of learning and its related fields, including relevant areas of instruction, pedagogy, cognitive sciences, and especially machine learning and knowledge engineering. This modern compendium will be an indispensable source of information for scientists, educators, engineers, and technical staff active in all fields of learning. More specifically, the Encyclopedia provides fast access to the most relevant theoretical terms provides up-to-date, broad and authoritative coverage of the most important theories within the various fields of the learning sciences and adjacent sciences and communication technologies; supplies clear and precise explanations of the theoretical terms, cross-references to related entries and up-to-date references to important research and publications. The Encyclopedia also contains biographical entries of individuals who have substantially contributed to the sciences of learning; the entries are written by a distinguished panel of researchers in the various fields of the learning sciences.

Since the birth of the subject of artificial intelligence, the long-term goal of this subject is to realize the intelligent system of human level. However, after nearly 60 years of development, no general intelligent system has been able to approach the level of human beings: it has the ability to cooperate with a variety of different cognitive abilities; it has a strong adaptive ability to complex environments; it has the ability of self-learning to new things and new environments. With the development of Brain and Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, it is possible to observe some activities of Brain Neural Networks under various cognitive tasks at different scales and obtain relevant data. Therefore, inspired by brain working mechanism, the development of Brain-like Intelligence has become a hotspot in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Computational Science in recent years. Machine Intelligence Brain-like Intelligence System (MIBS) inspired by cognitive behavior mechanism and realized by hardware and software cooperation is similar to human beings in information processing mechanism, cognitive behavior and intelligence level. The goal is to enable machines to realize various human cognitive abilities and their coordination mechanism, and ultimately reach or surpass the level of human intelligence. In this paper, we will study from the perspective of brain science, cognitive science and artificial intelligence. This paper reviews the history, current situation and research focus of brain-like intelligence research, and looks forward to its development direction, potential application fields and potential far-reaching impact.

Inconsistency and its handling are very important in the real world and in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence. When dealing with inconsistency in a knowledge base (KB), there is a whole host of deeper issues we need to contend with in order to develop rational and robust intelligent systems. In this paper, we focus our attention on one of the issues in handling KB inconsistency: how to measure the information content and the significance of inconsistency in a KB. Our approach is based on a fixpoint semantics for KB. The approach reflects each inconsistent set of rules in the least fixpoint of a KB and then measures the inconsistency in the context of the least fixpoint for the KB. Compared with the existing results, our approach has some unique benefits.

Natural language processing is an important direction in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence. It can realize various theories and methods of effective communication between humans and computers using natural language. Machine learning is a branch of natural language processing research, which is based on a large-scale English-Chinese database. Due to the relatively poor alignment corpus of English and Chinese bilingual sentences containing unknown words, machine translation is unprofessional and unbalanced, which is the problem studied in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement a length-based system for sentence alignment between English and Chinese bilingual texts. The research content of this paper is mainly divided into the following parts. First, the evaluation function of bilingual sentence alignment is designed, and on this basis, the bilingual sentence alignment algorithm based on the length and the optimal sentence pair sequence search algorithm is designed. In this paper, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) is selected as an English-Chinese bilingual candidate website and English-Chinese bilingual web pages are downloaded. After analyzing the downloaded pages, nontext content such as page tags is removed, and bilingual text information is stored so as to establish an English-Chinese bilingual corpus based on segment alignment and retain English-Chinese bilingual keywords in the web pages. Second, extract the dictionary from the software StarDict, analyze the original dictionary format, and turn it into a custom dictionary format, which is convenient and better to use the double-sentence sentence alignment system, which is conducive to expanding the number of dictionaries and increasing the professionalism of vocabulary. Finally, we extract the stems of English words from the established corpus to simplify the complexity of English word processing, reduce the noise caused by the conversion of word parts of speech, and improve the operation efficiency. A bilingual sentence alignment system based on length is implemented. Finally, the system parameters are adjusted for comparative experiments to test the system performance.

Since the notion of T-equivalence, where T is a t-norm, was introduced as a fuzzy generalization of the notion of crisp equivalence relation, many researchers have worked in the study of the metric behavior of such fuzzy relations. Concretely, a few techniques to induce metrics from T-equivalences, and vice versa, have been developed. In several fields of computer science and artificial intelligence, a generalization of pseudo-metric, known as partial pseudo-metrics, have shown to be useful. Recently, Bukatin, Kopperman and Matthews have stated that the notion of partial pseudo-metric and a type of generalized T-equivalence are linked. Inspired by the preceding fact, in this paper, we state a concrete relationship between partial pseudo-metrics and the aforesaid generalized T-equivalences. Specifically, a method for constructing partial pseudo-metrics from the new type of T-equivalences and, reciprocally, for constructing the generalized T-equivalences from partial pseudo-metrics are provided. However, important differences between the new approach and the classical one are established. Special interest is paid to the case in which the minimum, drastic, and Łukasiewicz t-norms are under consideration.

Artificial Neural Network is a branch of Artificial intelligence and has been accepted as a new computing technology in computer science fields. This paper reviews the field of Artificial intelligence and focusing on recent applications which uses Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also considers the integration of neural networks with other computing methods Such as fuzzy logic to enhance the interpretation ability of data. Artificial Neural Networks is considers as major soft-computing technology and have been extensively studied and applied during the last two decades. The most general applications where neural networks are most widely used for problem solving are in pattern recognition, data analysis, control and clustering. Artificial Neural Networks have abundant features including high processing speeds and the ability to learn the solution to a problem from a set of examples. The main aim of this paper is to explore the recent applications of Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence and provides an overview of the field, where the AI & ANNs are used and discusses the critical role of AI & NN played in different areas.

The society has entered the era of big data, computer network technology has improved people's living standards to a new level, and continues to progress toward the direction of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is one of the three major scientific and technological achievements of the 20th century, and mathematics is its key theoretical foundation. Taking artificial intelligence in the era of big data as the research object, this paper analyzes the application of traditional mathematical operations in artificial intelligence in the field of computer science and technology in the future from the perspective of mathematical thinking. This paper mainly introduces the typical mathematical basis of artificial intelligence, including linear algebra, probability theory, mathematical statistics, discrete mathematics and mathematical modeling, and prospects the development trend of mathematical basis of artificial intelligence, hoping to provide some reference for the application of artificial intelligence in computer network technology.
