ISDN-based interactive distance learning between Japanese and German elementary schools

Virtual reality is an important information technology that allows to achieve significant progress in underserved areas. Immersive multimedia, or virtual reality, is a software-simulated environment that simulates physical presence in the real or imagined world. Innovative applications such as high-tech intelligent systems that correlate with the information technologies of display, modelling, building and maintaining networks, artificial touch and computer graphics have made virtual reality a breakthrough in the computing world. Excursions and distance learning in virtual reality are one of the ways to simulate the presence in a city in which a person cannot be physically present at the moment. When viewing virtual tours or attending online classes using videos/photos, the user (applicant/student/learner/teacher) only sees a flat image and cannot interact with it. In this way, the effect that the user is present in that place is lost. Virtual reality with the effect of full immersion allows to eliminate these disadvantages almost completely, and to provide the opportunity to interact with objects located on the virtual stage with the help of real body movements. In addition, in a short period of time, with the help of virtual reality, the user can visit many places, literally without leaving home. This is impossible to do in real life, as certain places are located at a great distance from the user. The object of the study is the process of conducting an interactive excursion and distance learning on the basis of the Department of Information Systems and Networks of the Lviv Polytechnic National University in virtual reality. The subject of the study comprises means, methods of designing and developing the virtual reality information system of excursions and distance learning using virtual reality information technologies. The practical significance of the obtained results is the implemented information system for conducting interactive excursions and distance learning on the basis of the university department. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is an information system based on the use of virtual reality, which is intended for online visits to the premises of the university department with elements of full immersion, as a platform for career guidance of students or distance learning of students.

Rise of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) systems in India is largely a 20th century phenomenon. The ODL systems have taken up responsibilities to identify the educational needs of diverse segments of people and accordingly plan innovative and flexible systems to meet their requirements. Though ODL systems have been on the priority of the Governments in India for a long time, Post 2015 Development Agenda of United Nations has given a renewed policy thrust for it. Despite their tremendous potential to address the problems in Indian Higher Education, the functioning of ODL systems is constrained by low reach of technology, poor infrastructure and sharp socioeconomic, linguistic and cultural variations in targeted areas. This chapter gives an account of gaps in theory and practices of Open and Distance Learning systems. Recommendations have been made to optimise the practice of ODL to suit Indian context. Existing research studies have been put in to perspective and recommendations have been made for practitioners of Open and Distance Learning systems.

Discusses the software architecture, interprocess communication and the reference implementation of the Interactive Remote Instruction (IRI) system for distance learning. IRI is an Internet-based system which integrates continuous multimedia, shared applications and a variety of multi-user collaborative utilities. Internet multicasting is used by IRI for group management and data sharing, UDP (Unix domain protocol) multicasting is used for audio and video streams, while a reliable multicasting protocol (RMP) is used by XTV, the data sharing engine of IRI. The system is both scalable and expandable. It is scalable through the use of multicasting for interprocess communication. It is expandable due to its partitioning into a set of autonomous but cooperating components. The interaction among components is specified by a set of messages and the functions needed to send and receive these messages.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the education system was faced with a situation that required teachers to master distance learning media. Distance learning is still a polemic among the community, this is because distance learning is still considered no better than conventional direct learning, especially in mathematics learning that requires understanding of concepts to be able to master the material. The purpose of this research is find out which method is better between the class using the distance learning method during the COVID-19 pandemic and the class using the conventional direct method. This type of research conducted in this study is ex post facto research with a causal comparative design. The sample in this study was class 11th grade of the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 school year at one of the senior high school in Sukabumi. Mathematics learning outcome data is obtained from the end of semester exam results, the data is then processed using the Mann-Whitney nonparametric difference test. The results showed that there were differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students who used the distance learning method and students who used conventional direct methods, and students who used distance learning had better results than students who used conventional direct methods.

The purpose of this study was to identify pedagogical conditions that would successfully model with distance learning technologies for students in higher education. For this, the degree of satisfaction was investigated in 206 1st-4th-year students of speciality “Pedagogy” by questionnaire method and application of distance learning was studied in 28 teachers of the Institute of Continuous and Distance Education of K. Karasaev Bishkek State University. The study described the definition of distance learning, analysed the types of learning in the system of higher professional education, named the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning, principles and forms of learning, pedagogical methods. Student questionnaire data show that 11% of respondents are not satisfied with distance education. Degrees of dissatisfaction include internet outages, quality of education, lack of communication with classmates and teachers. However, 89% favoured this type of learning. The key advantages of distance learning are the time and budget saving for travelling and living, comfortable home learning conditions, availability of searching for necessary information, free choice of pace and time of learning. As a result of the interviews with the teachers of the institute, the following aspects were voiced that require improvement: students’ assimilation of information, lack of teaching experience in conducting this type of classes, as well as administrative issues. The study showed that distance learning technologies differ from the conventional form, being aimed at the development of students’ independent activity; obtaining knowledge and skills are oriented towards the application of information technology, search and exchange of information. Successful application of distance technologies in education requires systematic work on professional activities of teachers, increasing students’ interest in distance learning, establishing a relationship with students’ parents, and uninterrupted operation of Internet resources.

Abstract
 The background of this research is to know how the e-learning system in the teaching and learning system at the public high school level, because the Covid 19 pandemic still allows us to learn online at home, with the e-learning system, the learning system can be very effective. remotely, because this research this time will discuss how a good system is applied to the learning process with an e-learning system. The method used in this research is to use the literature review method by referring to previously published books and journals, with the existence of books and journals that discuss this research before, it is certain that this research will produce the latest research and can become the basis for future research. . There are many remote learning method systems during the Covid 19 pandemic, with this remote learning system, the spread of the Corona virus will be greatly reduced, because students do not meet in person and cannot spread directly through physical contact, with the distance learning method. the teaching and learning system continues even though the Covid 19 pandemic spreads. In this research, we will produce a system proposal that will be the basis for the development of distance teaching and learning methods, using e-learning media at an educational level, namely public high schools with a proposed system, so it can be the best suggestion in the future. thiscovid 19 pandemic.

Relevance. The beginning of martial law on the territory of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, accompanied by a full-scale armed aggression, posed great challenges to the education system. The transition to distance learning made it possible to resume the educational process and complete the 2022-2023 academic year in difficult conditions of martial law. An analysis of the world experience in implementing distance learning using Internet technologies shows that it has many advantages over traditional methods, such as constant access to educational materials, choosing one's own pace of learning, cost-effectiveness, etc. The combination of conventional and distance learning is a more effective medical education hall. Thus, distance learning is not just a set of infrastructure for the implementation of distance learning, but a learning concept that includes various technologies and learning tools. Higher educational institutions, regardless of the chosen form of education, continue to implement the educational program chosen and approved at the beginning of the academic year. For temporarily displaced students studying in an educational program that is different from that implemented in other educational institutions, teachers are guided by distance learning, providing modern material that students have mastered before. Conclusion. So, distance learning under martial law solves many problems that education in Ukraine faces. At the same time, distance learning requires the joint efforts of parents, students and teachers to achieve the necessary learning outcomes, as well as government support. The combination of traditional and distance learning methods has shown the greatest effectiveness in medical education. Thus, the introduction of distance learning will solve the following problems: - create a flexible infrastructure to provide e-learning opportunities to all students and teachers; increase the level of digital literacy of the academic community; provide high educational standards for students and teachers. The classic synchronous learning model has many disadvantages, especially the geographic distance of individual students and teachers (e.g., different time zones) during an air raid.

Open and distance learning system is now well-established serving millions of students globally. The technological developments in the 4th industrial revolution era have impacted open and distance learning system. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, 3D printing, computer vision, internet of things, internet of behaviour etc. have introduced smart services in teaching, learning, curriculum design, learning design, user experience, instructional delivery and evaluation and assessment systems. In this paper we discuss how such technologies have brought the digital transformation to open and distance learning. We also examine the meta immersive smart future of open education.

Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the educational system, students cannot go to school as usual. Therefore, Ministry of Education cooperates with Distance Learning Foundation Under the Royal Patronage and Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication (NBTC) to organize distance learning through the digital distance learning television. During the COVID-19 situations, schools increasingly adapt themselves to distance learning. However, schools for disabilities, Suksasongkhro Schools, and Special Education Centers cannot organize distance learning media through Distance Learning Television (DLTV) due to limitations of the students with disabilities to use the distance learning system. For example, blind students cannot access visual contents of the video media through the distance learning system so they need audio description for what they cannot see. In addition, deaf students cannot access audio contents through the distance learning, and they need sign/hand language. Thai sign language is the first language of deaf people for communicating with other people. Therefore, in this study we aim to integrate Thai sign language, closed captions, and audio description into the video soundtrack.

Russian universities switched to distance students learning for before the global pandemic threat. Physical education departments are also required to provide students with distance learning opportunities. The organization of high-quality distance learning in physical education of students is not an easy task for most Russian universities. The purpose of the research - analysis of the level of effectiveness of using distance learning methods in the physical education of students in self-isolation during the COVID-19. Effectiveness criteria of distance learning: the quantity, quality and speed of completion of distance tasks. The research participants - 347 students. The research period - 30 days. It was revealed that medical students have a significant (Р<0.05) advantage in the speed and number of completed distance tasks. Humanities and technical students have lower scores. The completed tasks quality is evaluated moderate scores. Can be explained moderate and low scores by the lack of students’ motivation to perform distance learning tasks. Dissatisfaction of the majority of students with a large academic workload and lack of motor training sessions was revealed. Improving the quality of distance learning of physical education of students is necessary. Students want to reduce the number of theoretical tasks and more motor training sessions use.

&#x0D; The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 outbreak that is currently hitting educational institutions has made various strategies in continuing the learning process, especially in terms of learning the Qur'an. This is as attempted by the Integrated Islamic High School Nurul Fikri Boarding School Bogor to make a remote learning program of the Qur'an using the Tahsin and Tahfidz Al-Qur'an methods. This distance learning Al-Qur'an program was created during the covid-19 outbreak and is still being used today in 2022. This study aims to describe how the distance learning method is tahsin and tahfidz Al-Qur'an, distance learning tahsin and tahfidz of the Qur'an and their positive and negative impacts. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The subjects in this study were 4 people. Data analysis was carried out using Miles Huberman's analysis with the first step being data collection followed by data reduction and data presentation, then ending with verification or conclusions. The results of data analysis show that the Tahsin Method (Tanbiqo Tanbiqu) uses a practical method. The Integrated Islamic High School Nurul Fikri Boarding School Bogor requires prospective students to memorize the Qur'an before continuing on the tahfidz process, they must go through the tahsin process first to avoid two mistakes, namely fatal errors (lahnul jali) and minor errors (lahnul khafi). The method used is a practical method with the basic discussion material makhorijul letters and their application to the Qur'an. The learning method of tahsin and tahfidz Al-Qur'an used at SMA Terpadu Nurul Fikri is a very good method to use in learning tahsin and tahfidz Al-Qur'an. The Tanbiqo Tanbiqu method and Nurul Fikri's tahfidz method look very comprehensive with other Qur'anic tahsin and tahfidz learning methods. Learning materials using Tanbiqo Tanbiqu are given to new students for the first 3 months of admission, as a preparation to start memorizing the Qur'an and Nurul Fikri's tahfidz method using the 1) Jama'i, 2) Juz'i, 3) Talqin, 4) methods Muroja'ah.&#x0D; Keywords: Tahsin, Tahfidz, Al-Qur'an, Distance Learning Method

However, this review identified many challenges in the ODL based pre-service teacher training, especially in the areas of learners’ support system, communication and feedback, school-based mentoring of student teachers, as well as meeting the needs of students that are living with disabilities. Problem and purpose. The article discusses the use of the “flipped learning” model in masters’ programs in the field of foreign language education as one of the most effective ways to implement the concept of blended learning, aimed to combine traditional and innovative approaches in preparing master students for professional activities, taking into account the requirements of modern educational space. The emergence of the blended learning concept is caused by the contradiction between a search for the optimal model of classroom and extracurricular independent work compatibility in teaching foreign languages in foreign and Russian linguodidactics, and insufficient degree of their implementation in practice. Masters’ programs realized at the faculty of foreign languages of Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astafiev “Modern linguistic education” (intramural form) and “Innovative technologies in foreign languages education” (extramural form), field of education: 44.04.01 “Pedagogical education”, are taken as an example. The purpose of the article is to present the author’s concept of using the “flipped learning” model in masters’ programs in the field of foreign language education in the conditions of introduction of new Federal state educational standards, providing informatization of the educational environment and increasing the share of independent work of students with a decrease in the amount of hours allocated to the discipline. The methodology of the research is analysis of the existing masters’ programs in the field of foreign language education; studying the results of interdisciplinary researches of Russian and foreign scientists dedicated to the use of the concept of blended learning in general and the “flipped learning” model in particular; analysis and generalization of the author’s experience of implementing masters’ programs in the field of foreign language education. Results. The authors developed the concept of using the “flipped learning” model , approved by practice in the context of higher education. Conclusion. Analyzing the results of the approved model, the authors come to the conclusion that its practical use leads to a change of the teacher`s role, acting as a mediator of the educational process as well as the student`s role taking responsibility for the learning outcomes. The considered author’s concept can be applied in the course of training master students in the field of education 44.04.01 “Pedagogical education” (intramural and extramural education).

Efficient web-based open and distance learning services

The article considers the ways of introduction of Internet technologies in the educational process of higher education institution. The principles of building computer training centers based on network technologies are highlighted: versatility, accessibility, use of standard network solutions and building a system based on a universal integrated database that allows you to easily and virtually unlimitedly build, transfer and scale it. Based on these principles, you can build a prototype of the Internet distance learning system, which allows you to create courses in technical, humanities and other disciplines. The technology of distance learning is described, which provides the educational process based on the use of modern information and telecommunication technologies. The conditions of efficiency and quality of teaching of students by means of distance learning are determined: favorable conditions for growth of activity of students by selection of means of training taking into account specificity of their individual cognitive properties are created; effective means of support of individual and group forms of training are used; the experimental-research basis of the educational process is expanding; the gap between the existing content of education and the achieved level of development of modern science is reduced. Peculiarities and advantages of using distance learning of students in comparison with traditional forms (full-time and part-time) are highlighted. It was found that the tutorial is one of the main components of the educational process in distance learning, which uses a set of methods and approaches to learning focused on the needs of students. The article states that one of the distance learning systems is the Moodle system, which is designed to organize online learning in a networked environment using Internet technologies.
