Abstract

Deep learning (DL) is a powerful classification technique that has excellent performance in processing audio, image, and video data. In this paper, we use DL in communication systems, especially for modulation classification. Convolutional neural network (CNN) is then utilized to complete the classification task. The deep learning methods are implemented in an OFDM system using Software Defined Radio (SDR). Experimental results indicate that the proposed CNN based modulation classification achieves comparable classification accuracy without the necessity of manual feature selection.
