Overlay Routing under Geographically Correlated Failures in Distributed Event-Based Systems

The apple cider vinegar fermentation process requires careful monitoring and control of variables such as pH, alcohol content, and amount of acetic acid. This research adopts Fuzzy Logic Control by utilizing the MQTT communication protocol, pH, alcohol and water pump sensors, as well as solenoid valves and DC motors as actuators. This Internet of Things (IoT) based solution provides real-time monitoring information on the fermentation process. The results showed that the test system succeeded in maintaining a stable pH of around 3.9-4.0 during the initial stages of fermentation, while industrial data showed greater variations. Alcohol content increased consistently in the test system, in contrast to the spike on day 7 in industry data. At the formulation stage, the pH dropped to 3.68 in the test system, while the industry maintained 3.70. At medium and slow mixing stages, the test system showed a significant decrease in pH and a consistent increase in alcohol. At the harvest stage, the pH was lower in the test system compared to industrial, with slightly higher alcohol content. Test results show that the implementation of this system can reduce the fermentation process time by up to 2 days faster compared to conventional methods. This conclusion shows that IoT-based systems are able to provide better control and monitoring than conventional systems, so they have great potential for wider adoption in the apple vinegar fermentation industry to increase production effectiveness.

This paper presents the design and experimental implementation of an in-service performance monitoring system that uses a combination of non-intrusive spectral optical performance monitoring and Internet protocol (IP) metrics and is based on a low-complexity, distributed architecture. Apart from guaranteeing QoS in real time (less than 1 s) in an IP/wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) dynamic network, the system provides link-state information for impairment-aware routing and wavelength assignment. Another novel aspect is the nature of the service level agreements proposed, which are "all-optical" (transparent). Performance delays of the system are evaluated in a real test bed featuring dense WDM and transparent optical add-drop multiplexers. Strategies to estimate link-state parameters from real-time monitoring information are also proposed

Nowadays, the widespread application of 5G has promoted rapid development in different areas, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT), where 5G provides the advantages of higher data transfer rate, lower latency, and widespread connections. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which comprise various sensors, are crucial components of IoT. The main functions of WSN include providing users with real-time monitoring information, deploying regional information collection, and synchronizing with the Internet. Security in WSNs is becoming increasingly essential because of the across-the-board nature of wireless technology in many fields. Recently, Yu et al. proposed a user authentication protocol for WSN. However, their design is vulnerable to sensor capture and temporary information disclosure attacks. Thus, in this study, an improved protocol called PSAP-WSN is proposed. The security of PSAP-WSN is demonstrated by employing the ROR model, BAN logic, and ProVerif tool for the analysis. The experimental evaluation shows that our design is more efficient and suitable for WSN environments.

Marine Information System provides ship-owners, ship companies, port authorities and other related organizations with real time marine information. However such information cannot be accessed by external users due to marine information system design. As a result we analyze a novel marine information system based on cloud computing to improve traditional system, to bridge the gap between different marine information systems. This paper looks at the advances in the cloud computing applications to enable public and private agencies with real-time marine monitoring information to address some of the issues hampering progress in the maritime environment.

Real-time occupancy monitoring information is an important component in building energy management and security. Advances in technology enables us to develop vision-based systems. These systems have gained popularity among different scientific research communities due to their high accuracy. Based on real-time video from a single camera, people occupancy rates in buildings can be correctly estimated using neural network models. This paper proposes an intelligent real-time bidirectional system, using Random Neural Network (RNN) predictions. An overhead camera was used to capture RGB images and the number of people crossing a virtual line was counted using the proposed counting technique. The proposed algorithm extracts some important features such as occupant blob areas, major axis, minor axis, eccentricity, perimeters and area-perimeter ratio for total 1000 frames. Finally, a RNN model is trained with aforementioned features using a gradient decent algorithm. Real-time experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method, especially when occupants are in group and blob merge/split scenarios. Real-time testing revealed an accuracy between 100 and 93.38% for single and multiple occupants, respectively.

The complete paper describes an integrated geological-engineering data-management project covering all aspects of well-engineering work flows, with the objective of providing a continuous improvement platform to users. Introduction CNOOC has spent more than 20 years on the progression of information construction. A private cloud platform was completed in 2018, and the characteristics of oil and gas data and critical storage-management technologies were studied systematically. At the same time, nearly 20 kinds of drilling- operation analysis software have been developed independently. From the perspective of engineering technology, these provide real-time monitoring, remote decision-making, technical training, and other information resource services and support for offshore drilling operations. However, the following problems restrict the efficient operation of such projects: - Because of the lack of a unified data-integration-application platform, data sharing has not yet been realized. - In the process of real-time monitoring and remote decision-making, more engineering information based on drilling operations lacks the support of geomechanical data. - The knowledge base and case library to guide the prevention and handling of drilling-operation accidents have not been established. System-Target Analysis The design goals of the platform are embodied in three aspects: function, safety, and operability, while system performance requirements are summarized as adaptability, response speed, scalability, maintainability, and the effective-ness of failure-handling mechanisms. According to the functional requirements of different users for offshore-drilling cloud technical services, users generally are divided into three categories: headquarters decision-making managers, drilling-operation project teams, and system-operation and maintenance-service providers. System Construction Goals and Architecture Construction Goals - Chief among these was to build a geological-engineering integrated data-management platform. Another important goal was to build a case-management platform. An intelligent search engine is established to retrieve the corresponding disposal knowledge through a comprehensive information model. A knowledge-management subsystem is established, and users are linked with internal knowledge-management processes with the help of the cloud. The specific operation process is carried out in the private cloud, and the results are fed back to the user through the human/computer interface.

Wearable augmented reality medical (WARM) interfaces could provide ubiquitous point-of-care decision support and enhance the quality and efficiency of clinicians' efforts. Creation of such systems involves the design and evaluation of new information displays that leverage the representational and presentational capabilities of three-dimensional AR environments. We describe our first efforts in this process: the implementation of interface objects for display of real-time electrocardiographic monitoring information and an evaluation methodology using a simulated clinical environment. Our pilot data confirm the utility of presentation modes that place simultaneous information tasks in close proximity, and highlight issues encountered in designing new representations of medical information.

Influenced by end-host overlay systems, the overlay multicast routing problem is studied under a singlehomed model in most literatures. This model is no longer applicable to those fixed MSNs(multicast service node), which may have multiple access links to the physical network. In order to solve the problem correctly, we propose a multihomed proxy model in this paper to describe the overlay network more accurately. We also develop a general solution to the routing problem under our model, which includes a path selection process and a multicast routing process. In the end we design an OMMP (overlay multicast over multihomed proxy) architecture, which integrates all MSNs into one framework to realize the overlay multicast service under our model.

As multimedia communications are developing rapidly in Internet, in order to improve the end-to-end (E2E) performance, we propose an overlay routing layer middleware (ORLM) aiming to overcome the limit inherent in the Internet’s IP-layer routing service with the aid of a cross-layer design, based on the ALTO service and the NGI QoS support. In this paper, we mainly show the design principles and details of our routing middleware, including the general architecture and function modules, the proposed flow label definition and its related usage in the overlay network scenario, and the TE (Traffic Engineering) –awareness feature.

This paper studied the cross-domain load balancing communication mechanism based on the game model. Firstly, the problem of routing between SDN/IP heterogeneous network inter-domain communication is analyzed. The SDN/IP cross-domain hybird network communication model is proposed. The network abstraction idea is introduced. The OpenFlow controller can be supported by the three-layer routing module and edge nodes. IP routing protocol to synchronize network reachable information between hybrid networks. In the Layer 3 routing module, the routing engine sub-module parses and responds to routing messages, and abstracts the OpenFlow network as a standard "Router". At the same time, three sub-modules of edge management, routing processing, and routing engine management are designed on the controller side. Forward control of inter-domain datagrams of SDN internal networks and management of routing engine sub-modules. Then, a feedback mechanism is added at the edge node location to actively detect and report the edge location state information to expand SDN impact. Secondly, for the problem of elephant stream forwarding in SDN/IP cross-domain network, a multi-path load balancing communication mechanism oriented to cross-domain is designed. The mechanism monitors the elephant flow in the network through the traffic monitoring module in real time, and proposes a multi-path dynamic load balancing algorithm to achieve network load balancing. Firstly, according to the real-time QoS index of the link, multiple minimum cost paths are calculated, and the idea of stream splitting is introduced. Multiple paths are used to bear an elephant stream, which reduces the burden of a single path and improves the utilization of network resources. Then the game model based auction model is introduced to calculate the offload strategy to optimize the maximum link utilization of the network. The simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively balance network traffic, meet the QoS requirements of the service, and increase the network resource utilization rate to 83%.

We introduce the game-theoretic stochastic routing (GTSR) framework, a proactive alternative to today's reactive approaches to route repair. GTSR minimizes the impact of link and router failure by 1) computing multiple paths between source and destination and 2) selecting among these paths randomly to forward packets. Besides improving fault tolerance, the fact that GTSR makes packets take random paths from source to destination also improves security. In particular, it makes connection eavesdropping attacks maximally difficult as the attacker would have to listen on all possible routes. The approaches developed are suitable for network layer routing, as well as for application layer overlay routing and multipath transport protocols such as the stream control transmission protocol (SCTP). Through simulations, we validate our theoretical results and show how the resulting routing algorithms perform in terms of the security/fault-tolerant/delay/throughput trade-off. We also show that a beneficial side effect of these algorithms is an increase in throughput, as they make use of multiple paths.

Integrating recent years’ results and analyzing the VANET (Vehicular ad hoc networks), taking the important role of mobile nodes into account a vehicular opportunity route based on real-time information (VORI) is proposed. VORI uses mobile nodes to collect real time area information, and construct hot area for best inter-area selecting with the information to help delivery message. VORI is consisting of node position query and data transmission. The limited query reduces the number of query copies within the net, and with dynamically selecting hot area message delivery works well.

RFID-Based Hazardous Waste Management Platform Establishment

Motivated by commercial interests, huge amounts of large billboards were standing up along the city streets, which has becoming a serious security risk for the urban residents. Because of this, the real time monitoring for these billboards has been paid more attention by the department of municipal management. As traditional supervisory methods tend to give priority to artificial inspections, which was time-consuming and labor intensive. For resolving this kind of problem, a monitoring and early warning method for large billboards based on tilt sensors was proposed in this paper, and monitoring and early warning system were developed as well, which can be used to collect, query the real-time monitoring information of inclined angle of large billboards and make an early alerts when the inclined angle exceeds a certain value. As such, this system can provide a service of broadcasting the real time early warning information to the city managers or public.

Mine security detecting crawling robot is a kind of remote-controlled security detecting robot with multiple sensors, which can replace human work in such complex environments as special places of coal mines, undesirable conditions unaccessible to humans or disasters of fire, earthquake and mining. It can carry out medium range search, fixed-point detection, real-time data transmission in a remote and monitoring mode. This paper put forward a control method and device of robot, Robot based on wireless communication with multi-sensor, which can carry out robot's motion control, video surveillance, temperature and humidity detection, gas detection and data exchange, etc. In a timely manner, it can also upload real-time monitoring information to the upper machine to carry on the dynamic measurement and real-time monitoring, and give security alerts. Thus, it encourages safe production, ensures efficient work under safety premise, protects rescuers' life and minimize personnel and property losses.
