RASCH MODEL ANALYSIS: DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS' NUMERACY LITERACY INTEREST INSTRUMENTS IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING

Motivation is an important determinant for students’ academic achievement; however, many pupils report that their learning motivation decreases in particular prior to exams. Preventive steps, guidance and counseling teachers or school counselors reported lack of concentration, high anxiety, and low enthusiasm among high school students. This study investigated the utility of a Cognitive-Behavioral Psychoeducational Community Music Therapy Seminar/Workshop in improving students' motivation to learn before exams. A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used with 213 senior high school students in Jakarta, Indonesia, aged between 15 to 18 years old. The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) was employed to assess students’ motivation and learning strategies. The intervention, psychoeducation content using music therapy activities including group singing, rhythm-playing, and reflect. The paired-sample t-tests and effect size (Cohen’s d) was performed to data. Results revealed a highly significant elevation in overall motivation (Pretest M = 4.21; Posttest M = 4.78; t (212) = 14.32, p < .001; Cohen’s d = 0.69). Results of subscale analyses indicated there were increases in intrinsic goal orientation, task value, self-efficacy, and metacognitive self-regulation while test anxiety was decreased. Findings endorse the feasibility of CoMT-based seminars to be utilized as effective strategic school interventions for enhancing motivation and examination readiness. The incorporation of music therapy into guidance and counseling programs offers one dynamic and empirically supported method to support academic resilience among teenage students.

This article presented empirical finding of the effect of gamification for learning. Evidence in the findings of the empirical study that explores two education games that were developed earlier with a total of 64 participants was presented. The first game was a computer game with historical themes of Ken Arok and Ken Dedes of Singhasari Kingdom. The second game was an Android-based mobile game with Historicity of the Bible themes of Moses. Prior research showed that more than 50 percent of junior and senior high school students in Jakarta demonstrated their apathy to several subjects in their school. They also disclosed that they were having difficulty in following their class in particular with a difficult subject such as History subject. With the popularity of games, the gamification of learning was investigatd to enhance the interest of the students to master a particular subject. The results show that there is a statistical significance increase of the students score and interest in history subject in a group that was using the games to help them in the subject compared to a group that reading books about the particular subject alone 0.001. Furthermore, the participants also reported that playing games was helping them to remember difficult names and event timeline in the historical events

The purpose of the study was to develop a PQ4R learning strategy for learning to write short stories for junior high school students in Jakarta. The method used R and D through the ADDIE model. Data were taken using observation, learning to write results and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out through expert and peer assessment. The results of the study concluded that in the sixth step, discussion activities were added to discuss the results of short story writing and the peer assessment process. This strategy also had a positive impact on writing enthusiasm, increasing reading comprehension through reading activities in the third step. Students were also able to collaborate in developing short story writing. So, this research had implications for understanding the development of learning strategies that must be designed according to the character and needs of students and the learning objectives to be achieved. This model can be used in short story writing in class.

Kemampuan berpidato merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang esensial dalam menunjang keberhasilan akademik dan sosial siswa di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Jakarta. Namun, keterampilan ini seringkali belum tergali secara optimal dalam praktik pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan berpidato siswa SMA, meliputi aspek verbal, nonverbal, dan kesiapan psikologis dalam berbicara di depan umum. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 609 siswa dari SMA di kota Jakarta. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner tentang profil mencakup penggunaan aspek verbal-nonverbal, kesiapan berpidato, dan refleksi diri terkait dengan kelancaran dalam berpidato. Wawancara terbuka juga dilakukan dengan sejumlah siswa dan guru Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun ide secara sistematis dan terstruktur, kesulitan dalam memadumadankan gestur dan aspek nonverbal lainnya. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa responden mengalami kesulitan Psikologis dengan ketidak-siapan dalam berpidato dan merasa tidak lancer pada lancar pada saat berpidato. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya model pembelajaran berpidato yang lebih praktis, multimodal, dan adaptif terhadap kondisi psikologis siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini memberikan arah bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kompetensi berbicara siswa secara holistik.

Responsible environmental behavior is the result of interaction between various factors. One of those factors is the new environmental paradigm. This study aims to determine the relation between the new environmental paradigm to responsible environmental behavior in high school students in Jakarta. The research was conducted at Jakarta State Senior High School 53 in the first semester of the 2017/2018 Academic Year. The method used is a survey method with correlational techniques. The sample used was 89 students of class XI MIA random sampling. Data was collected using new environmental paradigm instruments and responsible environmental behavior instruments. Data analysis was done by simple linear regression test to measure the magnitude of the relation using the Pearson Product Moment formula at the 5% significance level. The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant the relation between the new environmental paradigm to responsible environmental behavior. The correlation coefficient of this study is 0.276. The contribution of the new environmental paradigm variable to responsible environmental behavior variable is 7.6%. Therefore, the environmental paradigm has a role in improving student's responsible environmental behavior.

Introduction: The burden of HIV-AIDS cases in Indonesia remains high, while HIV-AIDS promotion programs targeting students remain low. Game-based learning has not been investigated as an alternative method for improving HIV-AIDS awareness among students. Aims: this study quantifies the impact of the flashcard-based educational game invented by YARSI HIV-AIDS Care on high school students in Jakarta. Method: A simple randomized controlled study was conducted among 112 SMA 27 Jakarta students (intervention, n=56; control, n= 56). The HIV-AIDS knowledge and attitude scores before and after the educational game were evaluated using a validated questionnaire. An intervention using a flashcard-based game is conducted online. Univariate and Bivariate analyses of the pre-and post-scores for both groups were performed. Result: Following the game, there was a considerable improvement in the HIV-AIDS comprehensive knowledge scores (pre-test vs. post-test, 65 vs. 90, p<0.01), while the control score remained unchanged. The intervention group also had higher knowledge and attitude scores than did the control group (p<0.01). Conclusion: Flashcard-based education games significantly increased comprehensive HIV-AIDS knowledge and positive attitudes toward HIV-AIDS. Thus, this method could be implemented in HIV-AIDS promotion programs that target students

As the next generation, high school students receive teaching and habituation about behavior towards the environment. The form of habituation of environmental management behavior is done through various programs, one of which is Green School. Green School encourages all school residents to get used to eco-friendly behavior. This research raises the issue of the impact of the Green School program on students' environmental behavior. The form of participation and behavior of environmental management are also described in this study. The method used is a survey using the pro-environmental behavior instrument among high school students in the school. The results indicate that the environmental behavior of high school students is still in the medium category, which means that environmentally friendly behavior among high school students has not been accustomed. Besides, the impact of the Green School program has not been fully able to familiarise students with environmentally friendly behaviors

This study is to understand the effect of perceived characteristics, personal innovativeness, and self-efficacy on the intention online shopping. In contrast to previous studies on online shopping, this study refers to the Technology Acceptance Theory that is integrated with the Innovation Diffusion Theory. Respondents of this study are junior high school students in Jakarta. By using the quantitative research methods and convenience methods to collect data, so the respondents as many as 356 students of junior high school have been taken. The data collected were then analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling by confirmatory factor analyses. Four of the five hypotheses were accepted. This study carried out findings that the TAM can be integrated with the IDT to predict the intentions of online shopping, so the businessman of online shopping can know the direct or indirect effect from the perceived characteristics, self-efficacy, and personal innovativeness to the intention online shopping.

Festinger’s (1) hypothesis cites belief as a variable that influences selective exposure. However, a review of other experts’ research proves that selective exposure is not only affected by the psychological aspect but by the message and the social aspect as well. In contrast to previous scholars who focused only on one variable, the researcher examines belief, utility of information, and group support simultaneously and integrates them into a model. The research design is a case study involving the use of pornographic information. This study’s subjects comprise 400 senior high school students in Jakarta, Indonesia. The relationships among the variables were tested by using structural equation modeling. The validity and reliability analyses utilized the LISREL 8.80 application. A questionnaire with a Likert-scale model was used as the data collection method. The structural test results show that the theoretical models for the three variables have a significant effect on selective exposure (t value ≥ 1.96). On the other hand, the findings also prove that communication in the context of selective information on pornography is divided into three levels. First, at the intrapersonal level, the individual holds on to his or her belief in selecting the information. Second, at the interpersonal or group level, the individual adjusts his or her belief to the existing reality (environment or social group). Third, at the mass communication level, the individual selects the information according to its utility, that is, to fulfill the need for information.

This study aims to determine the occurrence of learning loss in the new normal era due to sudden changes in the online learning process for elementary school students in Jakarta. This study uses a case study qualitative research method to analyse the causes of learning loss in elementary school students. There are five research stages: test questions, observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were 30 grade IV elementary school students in Jakarta and one grade IV teacher. The results of this study stated that as many as 33.33% of elementary school students did not experience learning loss, and as many as 66.67% of students experienced learning loss.

Based on observations made at MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Salafiyah in class VII, student interest in mathematical literacy is low, with a percentage of student interest reaching only 45%. This is due to the implementation of learning that is limited to textbooks and situations in the classroom, which makes students quickly feel bored when reading because the material read is dominated by text. This study aims to determine and explain the effect of using Nearpod media in increasing student interest in mathematical literacy at MTs Madrasatul Qur'an Salafiyah. The population studied included all VII class students totaling 74 people, with the sampling technique using saturated sampling. This research is classified as classroom action research (PTK) with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used in this study consisted of questionnaires and observation sheets. The data obtained from the research were then analyzed with a quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed an increase in interest in mathematical literacy through the use of poster media identified in cycle I and cycle II. In cycle I, students' interest in mathematical literacy reached 65%, while in cycle II it increased to 90%. This shows that the use of Nearpod media successfully increased students' interest in mathematical literacy.

Background: Although scientific evidence has revealed the benefits of fruit and vegetable consumption (FVC) for children, 96.8% of age school children in Indonesia and 70.6% of primary school students in Jakarta did not have FVC as recommended. Aims: to assess how Muhammadiyah Elementary School Students’ knowledge and FVC were affected by school gardening and nutrition education. Methods: Following 6 monthly program, knowledge and FVC were assessed by using the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) and knowledge questionnaire. Results: 1) There is a significant increase in students’ knowledge scores from 43.24 ± 14.24 to 70.31 ± 18.92 (P-value 0.000). 4); 2) The mean of FCV was elevated from 211.45±12.33 to 289.76±19.64, however, it was not statistically significant (P-Value of 0.058). Conclusion: Although knowledge has been improved following 6 months program, the FVC level was not dramatically enhanced. Future similar activities need to be done in a non-pandemic situation and should be lengthened into more than 6 months to portray a significant increase in FVC.

This study aims to identify the anxiety and overthinking (rumination) of private school students in Jakarta in conducting face-to-face learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a quantitative approach with 272 respondents. This study used the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Rumination Response Scale (RRS) instruments. Meanwhile, the data of this study were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The results of the study overall show that more students have low anxiety, that are 76% (208 people). In Rumination, they are more likely to be on the brooding indicator by 49% (132 people). Meanwhile, on the reflection indicator by 45% (123 people), brooding by 49% (133 people), depression by 4% (12 people), and 2% (5 people) respondents get the same score as the three indicators of reflection, brooding, and depression.

Differentiated models in science learning in elementary schools are essential to improve science literacy in line with the provisions of the Independent Curriculum. The application of this model allows teachers to adjust teaching methods that are more responsive to the individual learning needs of students, thereby maximizing their learning potential in understanding complex and relevant scientific concepts. This study aimed to investigate how using a differentiated approach to make science learning more effective can help students learn more about science. The research used a quantitative approach and a quasiexperimental nonequivalent control group design. The study was split into two groups: the experimental group and the control group, which consisted of a total of 274 elementary school students in Jakarta who were used as the population. Cluster random sampling was used for the sampling process, and interviews, observations, and instruments in the form of science literacy tests in the form of surveys were used to collect the data. An independent t test and an N-gain score test was used to look at the data. The results showed that using a differentiated model to improve students' science literacy had a big impact. This was supported by an independent t test with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and an N-gain score test that met the medium criteria. The differentiated learning model has a positive impact on the development of students' scientific literacy, with a substantive increase in their ability to apply scientific concepts in various situations.
