Smart E-Auction Platform with AI Chatbot and Automated Systems: Review

Online bidding is known by several names, including electronic reverse bid auctions, reverse auctions or simply e-Auctions. Online bidding and auction system has been growing rapidly and extensively in Malaysia. It's become an increasingly popular method for transacting business, especially over the Internet. Online auction systems such as eBay and Lelong.com are the most visited and favorite's website by the users. This study will come out with a framework of bidding system where the registration number of new registered vehicle can be bid in a computerized environment. The framework is designed to be a simple and easy to use the system. It provides you with real-time information during the bidding so that you can check the current price for the registration number and use it as a reference when you submit or revise your bid. With this system, it could help users to obtain a number plate through an unsealed or open bidding process to own and drive a car. An agent will notify the winner by sending an email. With the features like bid notification, it will help the user to know the status of their bids.

As campus network and shopping online have grown up, the development of online auction system becomes integrity. The online auction system based on the campus network provides a trading platform for university students, and does not deal with the trading process. So the online auction system must increase its quality of service to attract students. In this paper, we present a scheme for the online auction system using the unified modeling language (UML) technique. We adopt the two steps to design the scheme, and the design scheme of the system is made up of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, deployment diagrams. In addition, the scheme can provide certain reference values for constructing the campus electronic commerce and realizing the digital campus.

A high volume of goods and services is being traded using online auction systems. This growth requires a larger size and complexity in order to support the online auction systems. This chapter proposes that there be an analysis of the patterns to identify best practices in the development of online auction information systems. These patterns should help both IT managers and software engineers during the requirements specifications phase of developing an online auction system.

This paper presents a study on the security challenges faced by online auction systems and proposes strategies to address them. The research methodology involved a literature review of existing studies. The main findings of the study suggest that the most common security threats faced by online auction systems include hacking, phishing, and fraud, which can have serious consequences for both buyers and sellers. To address these threats, the paper proposes a number of strategies, including the use of encryption, two-factor authentication, and secure payment systems. The study concludes that improved security measures in online auction systems can help to increase trust and confidence among users, which in turn can lead to greater participation and revenue for the industry. The implications of the study for the online auction industry and potential directions for future research are also discussed.

Today, high volume of goods and services is being traded using online auction systems. The growth in size and complexity of architectures to support online auctions requires the use of distributed and cooperative software techniques. In this context, the agent software development paradigm seems ap-propriate both for their modeling, development and implementation. This chapter proposes an agent-oriented patterns analysis of best practices for online auction. The patterns are intended to help both IT managers and software engineers during the requirement specification of an on-line auction system while integrating benefits of agent software engineering.

This research paper explores the concept of e-Auction, an increasingly form of online procurement. There is fixed delivery policy. This is a fully dynamic system which can be easily operated by the users. This research paper explores all the increasing form of online procurement. Online e auction system is gaining popularity day by day because of its ease of making online bidding and selling or buying. Users can freely go the website and register there and it’s ready for selling or buying their product. The main thing that is needed to be there is trust among the users, so that they can easily register and take part in the process without having any doubt regarding security. The aim of any online system are related with two points that are: 1.Customer satisfaction 2.Business purpose. Therefore, to meet these requirements there must be need of making enhancements in the online auction system. This paper will explore the all forms of online procurement that we can make to improve the current system.

Open Multithreaded Transactions form an advanced transaction model that provides features for controlling and structuring not only accesses to objects, as usual in transaction systems, but also threads taking part in transactions. The model allows several threads to enter the same transaction in order to perform a joint activity. It provides a flexible way of manipulating threads executing inside a transaction by allowing them to be forked and terminated, but it restricts their behavior in order to guarantee correctness of transaction nesting and isolation among transactions. In addition, transactions are exception handling contexts, and the model therefore provides forward and backward error recovery. In this paper we show that the model is indeed powerful, and that a complex application, i.e. an online auction system, can be designed and implemented in a very elegant way.

Homomorphic cryptosystem-based secure data processing model for edge-assisted IoT healthcare systems

Image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) is an umbrella term including the acts of nonconsensual taking, creating, or sharing of nude or sexual images, photos or videos. Organizations supporting IBSA victim-survivors have begun integrating AI chatbots into their services. The AI Act emphasizes transparency, requiring AI systems to disclose the use of AI to users. However, experimental research on transparency in chatbot design—such as disclosing bot identity, functionality, and limitations—has yielded mixed findings, and existing studies have not explored users’ in-depth experiences. To address this gap, we conducted semi-structured interviews with young adults (N=26, ages 18–29) to answer two research questions: RQ1: What are young adults’ positive and negative user experiences with a chatbot designed to support victim-survivors of IBSA? RQ2: What are young adults’ positive and negative user experiences with the disclosures of using AI in a chatbot designed to support victim-survivors of IBSA? We found that young adults liked the chatbot because it was easy to use, not embarrassing to talk to, and provided both informational and emotional support. However, they disliked that the information was often too long, sometimes irrelevant or not personalized, and that the emotional support did not meet their expectations compared to a human. Regarding the transparency design, they liked the non-transparent version because it enabled quicker access to support and fostered a greater sense of intimacy. Conversely, they appreciated the transparent version because disclosures such as “made by experts” and “protects your privacy” enhanced their trust and sense of security. However, the limitation disclosure (e.g., “I cannot understand like a real human”) received some negative comments, such as making users feel distant from the chatbot, less confident in its ability, and less inclined to engage further. These findings suggest that while transparency can build trust, opaque or unclear disclosures may undermine user confidence and engagement. Further research is needed to refine communication strategies that balance trust and usability in AI-driven support systems.

The auction system in Indonesia is the process of selling goods or services through a bargaining method where potential buyers or bidders compete to obtain the goods or services by offering the highest price. In recent years, online auctions have become popular in Indonesia, allowing people to participate in auctions via online platforms. Some well-known online auction platforms in Indonesia are Bukalapak, Tokopedia, and special auction platforms such as Invaluable or Christie's. Auctions in Indonesian legislation are regulated by various laws and regulations covering aspects such as government auctions, property auctions, and general regulations regarding the auction process. The role of an auction in auction procedures in Indonesia usually involves several important tasks related to auction transactions. A auction can be asked to examine documents related to the auction process, including the auction agreement, sale and purchase agreement, and other related documents. The aim of this research is to explain the evaluation of the role of auctions in the auction system in Indonesia. The approach used in this research is a juridical-empirical approach. The results of the research in this paper show that evaluating the role of notaries in the auction system in Indonesia can involve several aspects related to integrity, transparency, and legal compliance in the auction process. Meanwhile, the evaluation must include the extent to which the auction ensures that the auction process complies with applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia. The auction must accurately and independently certify the auction transaction. The evaluation should check whether they have performed this role well. It is important to evaluate the accuracy of the documents prepared by the auction, including the auction deed and other records that record the details of the auction transaction. In addition, the evaluation must consider whether the auction has helped in increasing transparency in the auction process, especially in terms of announcements, access to information, and reporting of auction results.

The real estate market in many African countries reflects inefficiency, indiscipline, suspicion, and fraudulent activity. Beyond the direct personal and financial costs, the friction of the existing property transfer process prevents assets from being utilized and valued at their maximum utility. The frustrations and lack of trust affect most real estate markets across Africa, including Ghana, where we will focus the investigation and examples in this paper. Remarkably, the existing Ethereum blockchain platform and smart contract capabilities can be used to bring efficiency, accuracy, trust, and value to the property transfer and registration process without a significant investment in new infrastructure. We develop a blockchain smart contract appropriate for the continent that provides transparency and traceability of digital assets from initial registration through all subsequent transfers. While blockchain-based land registration systems have been proposed and even implemented in other contexts, they are primarily for land title and deed registration. The system proposed in this paper performs these functions while also allowing the owners to trade in the tokenized assets. While we focus on the technical contribution, we also consider the infrastructure, legal, financial, and cultural factors relevant to designing a land registry solution for a developing country. While we focus on the case of Ghana, our solution is applicable anywhere and is particularly appropriate for Africa because it does not require any new infrastructure. A similar approach may be taken for a variety of e-government services such as digital identity management and online certificate management.KeywordsBlockchain 2.0Smart contractEthereumDigital assetse-infrastructuree-governmentLand titleLand registry

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">As electric vehicles adoption becomes more common, power grid operators are facing new challenges in managing the unpredictable and varying energy demands in the existing electrical infrastructure. Moreover, the cost of Electric vehicle is high when compared to fuel vehicle it has limited access to charging infrastructure along with the driving range that act as a key barrier preventing the drivers from making shift to EVs. When the EV usage integrates with blockchain, it mitigates the limitation in charging station infrastructure along with the former problem discussed. The lack of trust exists between EV owners and charging station providers can be solved through secure and transparent payment processing possible by blockchain based smart contract. Building charging station on blockchain will ease the automated payment through the use of smart contract and create more efficient EV charging network. Also, the blockchain-based charging system would enable EV owners know if they are being charged in excess and Prosumer know if they are being underpaid. The high initial cost is another prominent issue within the market place. To address this issue the introduction of sharing economy to the EV industry showcases another innovative solution that blockchain offers. The blockchain enabled sharing economy platform allows individuals to access collaboratively with the prosumer and the consumer. This provides alternative to traditional ownership while reduces individual financial barriers and maximizing electric vehicle utilization across the network. The EV users have great opportunity worldwide to take a stake in the future of EV adoption on blockchain. Therefore, this work demonstrates the sharing economy while designing, building, and customizing smart contracts for prosumers and consumers by enabling decentralized payment systems. Our research aims to develop decentralized charging electronic payment systems using blockchain and customized smart contracts to build and design the application. For blockchain Solidity programming language is used. The application displays the charging process, payment system, and charging history information.</div></div>

Healthcare insurance fraud is a growing global issue that undermines the integrity of healthcare systems and imposes significant financial losses on governments, insurers, and consumers. Fraudulent activities, including false claims, overbilling, and identity theft, inflate healthcare costs and reduce the efficiency of insurance systems. Traditional fraud detection systems rely on centralized databases and intermediaries, which are prone to inefficiencies, security vulnerabilities, and manipulation. In response to these challenges, this article proposed a decentralized blockchain‐based solution to detect and prevent healthcare insurance fraud more effectively. In healthcare insurance, blockchain can create a trusted, real‐time system for recording insurance claims and transactions. By securely sharing data between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies, blockchain enables greater transparency and auditability. Smart contracts, self‐executing contracts coded on the blockchain, can automate claim processes, reducing the potential for fraudulent claims by ensuring that all predefined conditions are met before payments are processed. Furthermore, blockchain can track every healthcare and insurance process step, from patient records and treatments to billing and reimbursement, allowing for real‐time detection of irregularities. The proposed decentralized blockchain approach offers a secure and efficient solution for detecting and preventing healthcare insurance fraud. It minimizes reliance on centralized authorities, reduces operational costs, and builds a more transparent and trustworthy system (For 10 patients, the total execution time includes 0.007 ms for hashing, 0.065 ms for encryption, and 0.060 ms for decryption). The proposed system's smart contracts obtained results (Ether cost) show that submitting a claim costs 0.01677963 ETH, flagging a claim costs 0.002234 ETH, approving a claim costs 0.00385737 ETH, and the fraud detection constructor incurs the highest cost of 0.11428872 ETH. By leveraging blockchain's strengths, the healthcare industry can proactively combat fraud, protect sensitive data, and improve overall efficiency.

Security of systems and services has been dominant research area in recent years as today's cloud services, big data and networked systems, especially when they provide wireless application access where personal and confidential data to be transmitted across the networked systems. Numerous tools and technologies are available to ensure system's security; however, external threats to computer systems and applications residents thereon, are also becoming more and more sophisticated and on the increase. Therefore, the key aim of this research is to integrate security engineering techniques and process with systems development life-cycle and process improvement frameworks. This paper presents a framework that consists of two components: 1) a security assessment model to looks at the existing security infrastructure of an organisation to determine its security maturity level; and 2) a security improvement maturity model to suggest an improvement mechanism for the organisation to progress from one maturity level to the next higher level. The intention is to provide a scheme to improve the organisation's Systems and network security with the aim that it becomes more efficient and effective than before.
