Speaking Test Apps Development: English Learning Enhancement in Online Learning Complexity

The application of Quick Response (QR) code as teaching media has become growing favored. Previous studies demonstrated that it can improve the student’s motivation in learning. Hence, this research aims to find and demonstrate the correlation between using Quick Response (QR) Code as assisted language media and student's motivation in English online learning. The type of this research is quantitative research with a descriptive correlational design. The research population is the 5th semester students of English Language Education Department UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The sample used is 30 students with techniques Random Sampling. The data have been collected by using questionnaire consisting of 12 questions on using Quick Response (QR) Code as assisted language learning and 12 questions on students' motivation in English online learning. After gaining the data, the data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment on SPSS software version 25. Correlation coefficient obtained in this study was 0.807 with a significance level of 0.00 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant correlation between using Quick Response (QR) Code as assisted language media and students' motivation in English online learning.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning in terms of students' motivation and creative thinking skills in mathematics. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted at SMK Qamarul Huda Bagu by useing online with the research subject being class XI. The instrument used is a motivational questionnaire and mathematical creative thinking skills in online learning. The questionnaire was conducted by making questions that were distributed to all respondents in the form of a google form. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis of student learning motivation data on mathematics presented in the table above, it shows that the average student learning motivation before online learning is 101.81. While the average student learning motivation after online learning is 119.43. This shows that there is an increase in students' learning motivation before and after online learning. While the effectiveness of learning with individual learning completeness is on average 85.65, the ability of teachers to manage learning is on average 89.81, and student responses are 80.28. From these data it can be concluded that online learning is effective in increasing students' motivation and creative thinking skills.

This study aims to describe the process of lectures conducted online, namely how the influence of online learning service satisfaction on learning motivation and student achievement of a state Islamic university in Riau. The data collection method in this study was a survey in the form of a questionnaire which was distributed to students with a total sample of 246 people who were distributed to all faculties. Data analysis using SEM Path Analysis 3.0 and SPSS 21. The results showed that satisfaction in online learning was in the satisfied category, motivation was quite high, and achievement was very high, and the effect of satisfaction in online learning on learning motivation was significant in the 2-sided test (t table = 1.97) with a t-statistic value of 9.525 or greater than t table, and the p-value is smaller than alpha 5% (0.000 0.05). The effect of satisfaction in online learning on learning achievement is significant in the 2-sided test (t table = 1.97) with a t-statistic value of 0.856 which is smaller than the t table, and the p-value is smaller than alpha 5% (0.392 0.05. The effect of learning motivation on learning achievement is significant in the 2-sided test (t table = 1.97) with a t-statistic value of 3.090 greater than the t table, and the p-value is less than 5% alpha (0.002 0.05). The effect of satisfaction in online learning on achievement is significant in the 2-sided test (t table = 1.97) with a t-statistic value of 2.999 greater than the t table, and nil ai p is smaller than alpha 5% (0.003 0.05). The results of the research above indicate that satisfaction in online learning has a significant effect on learning achievement through student learning motivation at university.

Purpose - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Malaysian government declared a Movement Control Order (MCO) to prevent the spread of the virus. Educational institutions were forced to switch their pedagogy to online learning to complete the semester curriculum, catching academicians and students off-guard that resulted in makeshift online lesson delivery. Previous online learning motivation studies have neglected the impact of an unplanned or sudden transition to online learning during a pandemic on student motivation to learn. This study aims to examine location learning environment, learner-instructor interactions, and self-efficacy of students more succinctly on their learning motivation during an unplanned transition to online learning. Method - This study used a sequential explanatory mixed method strategy with a sample size of 535 randomly collected from a public and two private higher education institutions in Malaysia. IBM SPSS statistical software v22 was used for descriptive statistics. Regression testing was carried out using AMOS statistical software v21 structural equation modeling. Findings - Revealed the importance of location learning environment in fostering student motivation and the positive influence of learner-instructor interactions on students achieving the desired learning outcomes during an unplanned transition to online learning. However, there is no evidence to suggest a causal effect between student self-efficacy and online learning motivation during such conditions. The theoretical implication indicates that having conducive hygiene factors are essential to driving student motivation under such situations. Significance - The COVID-19 pandemic provides opportunities for researchers to examine the role of various motivational theories to explain student motivation in learning under challenging conditions. Educators and students would benefit on ways to increase student online learning motivation in lockdown conditions. Setting up a more efficient online delivery approach could lead to higher student satisfaction and potential enrolment.

Objective: With the development of the Internet, Internet technology has had a great impact on English learning. This article explores the general expression of the performance, motivation and anxiety of students in Chinese medicine undergraduates in second language learning (SLL). performance, motivation, and anxiety for Chinese Medicine undergraduates in China, it is to analyze the attribution and relationship of above three aspects, and propose the method of using artificial intelligence to improve students’ learning motivation, reduce learning anxiety and improve learning ability. Methods: it is to select the undergraduate students (n = 300) in Jilin Province of China as the subjects. Use the Chinese version of the Foreign Language Learning Anxiety Scale under Internet technology, the Chinese Undergraduate English Learning Motivation Questionnaire, the self-made College Students’ English learning ability evaluation scale and the English Writing Scale were used for test. Results: SLL performance, motivation, and anxiety for Chinese Medicine undergraduates are in the middle level among all undergraduates in China, and their English writing ability is lower than the middle level; Analysis of variance shows that there are significant differences in gender (pDemographic variables were not statistically correlated with SLL performance, motivation, and anxiety (p>0.05); SLL anxiety had remarkable correlation with learning motivation (p>0.05); learning anxiety was statistically correlated with learning ability (pRegression analysis showed that learning anxiety and motivation had 44.3% and 5.8% explanatory power to English learning ability respectively. Intervention experiment results showed that Internet learning system significantly improved the performance of the experimental group (P the effectiveness of Internet learning mode had remarkable negative relationship with students’ learning anxiety (PConclusion: Based on the data-driven theory, the empirical study of Internet learning system in English teaching is completed, which provides an important theoretical support for the current College English intelligent teaching in China, which also provides a strong argument for the “scaffolding function” of AI in language learning. At the same time, the research also puts forward innovative ways to improve the effect of College English teaching from the perspective of psychology: through second language learning with AI resources, the “challenging task” set by the intelligent learning system increases the intensity and difficulty of learning, thus arousing the “promoting anxiety” of second language learners, and further internalizing the external and instrumental motivation in depth in order to improve English learning ability.

The purpose this article is to describe learning motivation in the application of integrative thematic learning, relationship between the implementation of thematic learning and student motivation, and thematic learning in fostering learning motivation. As a reflection of the development of increasingly advanced educational technology, changes in learning from conventional learning approach to thematic learning implementation is an innovation process in learning as an improvement effort in improving education. Therefore, the implementation of thematic learning is an important aspect in the success of student learning, especially in improving students' learning arousal or student learning motivation. The method used is library research and the result is discussed descriptively. The application of thematic learning can foster student motivation. Students will pay more attention to the lesson. With the advantages of thematic learning, it is very suitable if thematic learning is a beacon in motivational growth, as thematic learning becomes the guidance in fostering student learning motivation.

The study aimed to find out the influence of Quizizz as a learning media towards student learning motivation in English learning among tenth grade students at MAN 1 Surakarta during the 2023/2024 academic year. A quantitative method was used with a One Group PretestPosttest design, with 26 students selected through random sampling method. Data was collected through pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The researcher used a paired sample t-test formula and SPSS 16 application to analyze the data. The results showed a significant influence of Quizizz on student motivation in English learning. The t-test resulted in a tcount value of 37,787, which was greater than the ttable at a 5% significance level of 2,060. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The study highlights the importance of using Quizizz as a learning media for English learning among tenth grade students. Keywords: Quizizz, Learning Media, Learning Motivation, Learning English.

Learning activities during the Covid -19 pandemic were dominated by online learning, so digital learning materials are needed to help increase student learning motivation. The purpose of this development research is to develop digital learning material based infographic by instagram on environmental education that can increase student learning motivation in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This development research uses a method that integrates the Borg and Gall models. The data obtained were through documentation, interviews, expert validation and provision of ARCS questionnaires. The results of the validity test based on the analysis of the expert's assessment data stated that this learning material fell into the "very valid" category with an average score of 3.66. During the learning process using infographic learning materials assisted by Instagram, there was an increase in student motivation with an initial percentage value of 54.25% to 83.75% after using the learning materials developed, the magnitude of the increase was obtained from the n gain test with a score of 0.67 in the moderate category.

This study aims to measure the level and changes in motivation in grade VII students at SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda in science learning. The approach used in this study is quantitative descriptive with 34 students as samples determined through the Convenience Sampling method. The media used is a flipbook-based e-module. Three instruments were used in data collection, namely a questionnaire filled out by students, a student participation observation sheet filled out by the teacher, and multiple-choice questions assessed by the researcher. The results of the study showed that the average score of student learning motivation was 44.29 and student interest in learning was 40.47, both of which are included in the fairly high category. The results of data analysis from the three instruments showed an increase in student motivation and interest in learning, accompanied by significant positive changes. Based on these findings, the researcher concluded that the implementation of a flipbook-based e-module has a positive impact on student motivation and interest in learning.

Due to the massive spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Indonesia, teachers are demanded to make immediate plans for online teaching. Online teaching aimed to maintain the teaching quality as well as to get the students to feel more motivated in learning. Of the various studies on motivation and its role in students’ English learning, research that specifically focused on how students promote motivation to learn English remotely is still limited. This study, therefore, investigated the students’ motivation in online English learning and found out factors that affect their motivation. To get the data, an online survey questionnaire was created and distributed by using Google Forms. The results show that students have a medium level of positive motivation in online English learning. Some factors that strongly affect the level of motivation includes learning attitudes (having a strong desire to learn English), self-confidence (the capability to join the online English learning well) and influence of other people (family members and lecturers).

The learning process in Indonesia has predominantly been conducted online since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This online learning mode has also influenced students’ motivation in learning, especially in comprehending reading texts. Considering that problem, the researchers sought to investigate how the students regulated their comprehension in reading during an online class. This research used a mixed-method. The questionnaires were distributed to 30 students and analyzed as quantitative data. Then, the researchers chose four students randomly for interview purposes. The interview transcript was used as qualitative data. In conclusion, not all of the students could regulate themselves in comprehending English text during the online class well. Based on the data, students who could regulate themselves in comprehending the English texts during online class should develop the following procedure: (1) implementing learning autonomy, (2) implementing learning focus, and (3) using critical thinking. Meanwhile, students who could not regulate themselves well were inclined to perform minimally. Since students had different ways to regulate themselves, the teacher needed to monitor the students in online learning process so that the students could achieve a meaningful learning process. To improve students’ regulation in reading comprehension, the teacher can implement suitable learning activities.

In order to improve the English online courses teaching scene adaptability, optimize the online English teaching mode, improve the quality of English teaching, an English online course teaching platform is proposed based on scene simulation. B/S client communication protocol is constructed in network transport layer, and the scene simulation model of English Online Course Teaching is established, online English teaching platform designed in this paper is constructed based on the sensing layer, network layer and application layer. A data processing center is constructed in the B/S structure and the network environment, Open Core kernel is used to realize the optimization of teaching model of English online courses, improve the teaching platform of online courses, and improve the scene adaptation ability. The test results show that the platform for online English teaching has better independent learning ability, the effectiveness of online English course teaching is better, test objects have higher satisfaction with English Online Course Teaching.

Nowadays, during the pandemic of covid-19, the learning process in higher education is conducted through online learning particularly for English subject and this is a new thing both for the lecturer and students as well. This situation can affect the students’ motivation in learning particularly English as a foreign language. Based on this phenomenon, the objectives of this study was to find out the students’ motivation type in learning English in Institute of Business STIKOM Bali. The subject of this study was the students who learn English in the first semester academic year 2020/2021. The result of this study revealed that the students’ type motivation in learning English was a type of an integrative motivation rather than instrumental motivation. However, based on the mean score of both motivations, it was also on the high level of motivation. It is hoped that this finding can be used as a reference to conduct an advance research in the same area.

Learning motivation to engage students has been a challenge in building and learning. This study studied the effectiveness of learning using online media in improving student academic achievement and increasing student motivation in online learning. This type of research includes literature research as an information activity that is relevant to the topic used as the research object. The purpose of this study was to explain online learning in improving students’ academic achievement and facilitate them for all kinds of learning interactions. This research may be useful in supporting the idea that evaluation of online learning is important for students who have good learning motivation. In line with the findings obtained, this study provides operational advice on how to increase student interest and motivation in online learning activities namely a systematic review of the study of students’ motivational interest in online learning activities in the type of learning environment and how to increase student motivation in terms of the importance of students in increasing learning activities. In addition to that, study analytics to understand learners at a very subtle level is necessary to provide the most appropriate support for students.

Background: The pandemic makes online learning methods the right choice so that the learning process can continue. The learning methods in universities generally consist of the lecture/lecturer method and the skill lab method. The online practicum method is packaged in audio-visual form but has the disadvantage that the opportunity for red-demonstration cannot be carried out optimally due to limited tools and materials as well as supporting facilities. This is one of the factors that can affect student learning motivation to decrease. Methods: This study used a retrospective descriptive research design. The population to be studied is the students of the Department of Nursing at Jenderal Soedirman University using the Stratified Random Sampling technique and obtained 183 respondents. This study uses a questionnaire regarding the ARCS-V Motivation model (Keller 2016) which has been modified. Data analysis to be carried out is univariate analysis. Results: The results of the study that students' learning motivation towards online learning was included in the low category, quite a lot, namely there were 27 students (14.75%). 133 students (72.68%) with moderate learning motivation and 23 students (12.57%) with high learning motivation. Conclusion: The results showed that students' learning motivation towards online learning was included in the medium-high category range. This shows that online practicum can increase learning motivation. Online practicum is a solution for practical learning methods in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
