Tropical recurrent sequences
In this paper, closed forms of the summation formulas for generalized Tribonacci numbers are presented. Then, some previous results are recovered as particular cases of the present results. As special cases, we give summation formulas of Tribonacci, Tribonacci-Lucas, Padovan, Perrin, Narayana and some other third order linear recurrance sequences. All the summing formulas of well known recurrence sequences which we deal with are linear except the cases Pell-Padovan and Padovan-Perrin.

P-Adic quotient sets: Linear recurrence sequences with reducible characteristic polynomials
Let $(x_n)_{n\geq 0}$ be a linear recurrence sequence of order $k\geq 2$ satisfying $$ \begin{align*}x_n=a_1x_{n-1}+a_2x_{n-2}+\dots+a_kx_{n-k}\end{align*} $$ for all integers $n\geq k$ , where $a_1,\dots ,a_k,x_0,\dots , x_{k-1}\in \mathbb {Z},$ with $a_k\neq 0$ . In 2017, Sanna posed an open question to classify primes p for which the quotient set of $(x_n)_{n\geq 0}$ is dense in $\mathbb {Q}_p$ . In a recent paper, we showed that if the characteristic polynomial of the recurrence sequence has a root $\pm \alpha $ , where $\alpha $ is a Pisot number and if p is a prime such that the characteristic polynomial of the recurrence sequence is irreducible in $\mathbb {Q}_p$ , then the quotient set of $(x_n)_{n\geq 0}$ is dense in $\mathbb {Q}_p$ . In this article, we answer the problem for certain linear recurrence sequences whose characteristic polynomials are reducible over $\mathbb {Q}$ .

Linear combinations of prime powers in binary recurrence sequences
We give finiteness results concerning terms of linear recurrence sequences having a representation as a linear combination, with fixed coefficients, of powers of fixed primes. On one hand, under certain conditions, we give effective bounds for the terms of binary recurrence sequences with such a representation. On the other hand, in the case of some special binary recurrence sequences, all terms having a representation as sums of powers of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are explicitly determined.

This paper examines tropical recurrent sequences associated with Somos sequences. The classical Somos sequences have applications in the theory of elliptic curves. Due to the Laurent character of the classical sequences, a pattern can be inferred between the classical sequences and their tropical counterparts. The greatest interest is the increase in the dimension of the solution space of tropical sequences depending on the length of the final sequence. For a set of tropical sequences described by tropical recurrence relations, D.Yu.Grigoriev put forward a hypothesis about the stabilization of the maximum dimensions of the components of the corresponding tropical prevarieties. This hypothesis has been proven for tropical linear recurrent sequences. As part of this work, for tropical recurrent sequences associated with the sequences Somos-4 and Somos-5, the corresponding tropical prevarieties were investigated using the Gfan package in order to test Grigoriev's hypothesis.
Read moreMod $p$ equivalence classes of linear recurrence sequences of degree~$2$
Laxton introduced a group structure on the set of equivalence classes of linear recurrence sequences of degree~2. This result yields much information on the divisibilities of such sequences. In this paper, we introduce other equivalence relations for the set of linear recurrence sequences $(G_n)$, which are defined by $G_0, G_1 \in \mathbb{Z} $ and $G_n=TG_{n-1}-NG_{n-2}$ for fixed integers~$T$ and $N=\pm 1$. The relations are given by certain congruences modulo~$p$ for a fixed prime number~$p$, which are different from Laxton's without modulo $p$ equivalence relations. We determine the initial terms $G_0$ and $G_1$ of all of the representatives of the equivalence classes $\overline {(G_n)}$ satisfying $p\nmid G_n$ for any integer~$n$ and give the number of equivalence classes. Furthermore, we determine the representatives of Laxton's without modulo~$p$ classes from our modulo~$p$ classes.
Read moreOn Generalized co-Narayana Numbers
In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new third order recurrence sequence so called generalized co-Narayana sequence and its two special subsequences which are related to generalized Narayana numbers and its two subsequences. There are close interrelations between recurrence equations of and roots of characteristic equations of generalized Narayana and generalized co-Narayana numbers. We present Binet's formulas, generating functions, some identities, Simson's formulas, recurrence properties, sum formulas and matrices related with these sequences.
Read moreTwin Polynomials and Kernels Matrix
Polynomials and matrices have played a very important role in the development of different branches of mathematics. Indeed, several mathematicians have introduced classical polynomials very useful for the scientific community such as the Lagrange’s interpolation polynomials, the Chebyshev’s polynomials and the Bernstein’s polynomials [1,2]. Also, there is a strong link between polynomials and matrices through the notions of the determinant, the characteristic polynomial and the minimal polynomial. Similarly, we will introduce in this article two polynomials which we will call twin polynomials as well as a matrix called kernels matrix. Finally, we will present some applications such as the resolution of recurrent sequences with second member and the establishment of several sum formulas.
Read moreOn the Decidability of Monadic Second-Order Logic with Arithmetic Predicates
We investigate the decidability of the monadic second-order (MSO) theory of the structure (N; <, P1,…,Pk), for various unary predicates P1,…,Pk ⊆ N. We focus in particular on 'arithmetic' predicates arising in the study of linear recurrence sequences, such as fixed-base powers Powk = {kn : n ∈ N}, k-th powers Nk = {nk : n ∈ N}, and the set of terms of the Fibonacci sequence Fib = {0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13,…} (and similarly for other linear recurrence sequences having a single, non-repeated, dominant characteristic root). We obtain several new unconditional and conditional decidability results, a select sample of which are the following:
Read moreSome New Identities of Second Order Linear Recurrence Sequences
The main purpose of this paper is using the combinatorial method, the properties of the power series and characteristic roots to study the computational problem of the symmetric sums of a certain second-order linear recurrence sequences, and obtain some new and interesting identities. These results not only improve on some of the existing results, but are also simpler and more beautiful. Of course, these identities profoundly reveal the regularity of the second-order linear recursive sequence, which can greatly facilitate the calculation of the symmetric sums of the sequences in practice.
Read moreOn Gelfond-type problem for generalized Zeckendorf representations
Gelfond proved that for coprime 𝑏 − 1 and 𝑑 sums of digits of 𝑏-ary expressions of natural numbers are uniformly distributed on arithmetic progressions with the common difference 𝑑. Later, similar result was proved for the representations of natural numbers based on linear recurrent sequences. We consider the remainder term of the corresponding asymptotic formula and study the dichotomy between the logarithmic and power estimates of the remainder term. In the case 𝑑 = 2, we obtain some sufficient condition for the validity of the logarithmic estimate. Using them, we show that the logarithmic estimate holds for expansions based on all second-order linear recurrenct sequences and on infinite family of third-order sequences. Also we construct an example of the linear reccurent sequence of an arbitrary order with such property. On the other hand, we give an example of a third-order linear recurrent sequence for which the logarithmic estimate does not hold. We also show that for 𝑑 = 3 the logarithmic estimate does not hold even in the simplest case of the expansions based on Fibonacci numbers. In addition, we consider the representations of natural numbers based on the denominators of partial convergents of the continued fraction expansions of irrational numbers. In this case, we prove the uniformity of the distribution of sums of digits over arithmetic progressions with the common difference 2 with the logarithmic remainder term.

Information systems are developing and improving very fast. The requirements for synchronization for such systems also increase. In such systems linear recurrent sequences are widely used for synchronization. In this paper filtration algorithms of linear recurrent sequences sequences are synthesized. The synthesized algorithms can be classified as quasi-noncoherent (subincoherent) algorithms, as opposed to quasi-coherent algorithms, which use phase estimate of the received signal, or to noncoherent algorithms that use averaging over the entire region of phase uncertainty. The results of computer simulation of developed algorithms for various signal-to-noise ratios and accumulation time are presented.
Read moreGreatest common divisors with moving targets and consequences for linear recurrence sequences
We establish consequences of the moving form of Schmidt’s Subspace Theorem. Indeed, we obtain inequalities that bound the logarithmic greatest common divisor of moving multivariable polynomials evaluated at moving S S -unit arguments. In doing so, we complement recent work of Levin. As an additional application, we obtain results that pertain to the greatest common divisor problem for algebraic linear recurrence sequences. These observations are motivated by previous related works of Corvaja-Zannier, Levin, and others.

For a 1-dimensional semi-boundary link, Cochran constructed a sequence of Sato-Levine invariants of successively derived links. This is a linear recurrence sequence and conversely any linear recurrence sequence can be constructed in this way.An upper bound for the growth of this sequence is obtained.
Read moreSome Convolution Formulae Related to the Second-Order Linear Recurrence Sequence
The main aim of this paper is that for any second-order linear recurrence sequence, the generating function of which is f ( t ) = 1 1 + a t + b t 2 , we can give the exact coefficient expression of the power series expansion of f x ( t ) for x ∈ R with elementary methods and symmetry properties. On the other hand, if we take some special values for a and b, not only can we obtain the convolution formula of some important polynomials, but also we can establish the relationship between polynomials and themselves. For example, we can find relationship between the Chebyshev polynomials and Legendre polynomials.
