System Requirement Analysis and User Interface Design for Information Systems Using a Collaborative Approach of Agile and User-Centered Design Methods

An emergency can occur at anytime, anywhere and at anyone. The local government offers an application called “Panic Button” as a solution to these problems. This application aims to help people who experience or see emergency conditions so that they can be followed up by the authorities. However, this application has not been targeted for disability users. The procedure for using this application still has weaknesses that make it difficult for users with hearing loss, especially when an emergency event is confirmed. Normally, emergency events confirmation uses telephone calls to the incident reporter (user). This confirmation method is a big problem for those users with disabilities to be able to confirm the details of emergency events. In this research, a user interface re-design was carried out at the application interface to be able to accommodate the users necessary. The user interface modeling is done using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method to produce a user interface design that suits the user’s characteristics and limitations. USE Questionnaire was used to test the resulting prototype and results in a usability value of 87% with an excellent category after the third iteration. These results indicate that the results of the re-design that have been done have met the needs of the deaf, with the use of appropriate communication for people with hearing loss so that they can confirm emergencies properly.

Culture is the entire system of ideas, actions and results created by humans in social life that humans possess through the learning process. Introduction to traditional culture is an important part in maintaining and developing the identity of a society. In the digital era, the use of technology as a medium to promote traditional culture is very important. Mahograyasah art studio is one of the art studios or places to learn art which currently has problems, namely in the delivery of material. As a result, learning effectiveness decreases and participants have difficulty mastering the material well. The participants felt it was ineffective to receive the material directly and preferred to practice. However, due to the time and large number of participants, direct practice is difficult. Apart from that, the studio does not provide video tutorials for independent study at home, so participants only rely on learning when practicing in class. To overcome this problem, researchers used the User-Centered Design (UCD) method by developing a web-based prototype. Testing was carried out using the System Usability Scale (SUS). In this research, figma is used to design a website which contains dance material, dance videos, games and locations. The result of this research is a dance learning website prototype for the Mahograyasah studio. Based on prototype testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method, the average SUS score obtained was 88. 625. Thus it can be concluded that the Introduction to Traditional Culture learning website focusing on Dance has been accepted and meets the expected criteria. Tensions between software development methodologies and user-centered design (UCD) have always existed, but waterfall methodologies do provide a process context within which UCD methods can be clearly integrated whenever this is required. Popular agile methodologies such as Scrum create different challenges to integrating UCD. However, fitting UCD into agile methodologies will not necessarily result in high software quality. The combined approaches can still have significant design gaps that must be addressed by additional creative design practices. This chapter relates selected historical methodological trends to tensions between software and creative design. To resolve these tensions, innovative software development needs to draw on creative design practices in addition to UCD and agile methods. Specifically, innovative software development needs to draw on three key insights from design research: creative design work co-evolves problem and solution spaces; design materials talk back; and, the best design work is generous in scope and intent. These three insights are used firstly to structure a critique of the Agile Manifesto and secondly to provide the basis for proposing a balanced approach to software development that can appropriately integrate engineering, user-centered and creative design practices.

This study presents a content control application usage on smartphones which can improve collaboration between children and parents. The importance of the parents' role is to provide a comprehension regarding the content of the application to children will make good communications between parents and children. So, the children can think and make decisions on something that they face. Parental control application is made to control and limit the use of applications on smartphones by children. But the existing application has a problem on the user interface. They designed just only show the same features that the application block by the parents and are not designed to involve children in the process of selecting applications. Thus, the chance of parents to help children understand the contents of the application could possibly be missed. Because the user interface is closely related to the tasks performed by users, the user interface has a role in a parental control application design. To build a good parental control application, it is necessary convenience when a user interacts with the application system. This is a consideration in this study that focused on the user interface. Design methods that will be used in designing the user interface is User Centered Design (UCD). UCD is a method in designing user interface design with a focus on what the user needs. This method will help research to provide user data that parents and children directly, so the search process more accurate data is obtained. UCD has a life cycle stage design, so the design is made to be better. The result of this research is obtained parental control application user interfaces that provide children's freedom in choosing the content of applications and needs of parents in educating children regarding the content of the application being used so parents can educate a child.

Competition in the business world in the era of globalization is now getting stronger. For that, a business requires a system that works efficiently and effectively. The Ganda Bakery is one of Pematang Siantar's special culinary delights which is well known among the people in the city and outside the city. Double Bakery is a legendary bakery that has existed since 1979 which is very crowded and in demand by people in the city and outside the city. Due to the large number of customers who come to the Double Bread Shop, so many new bakeries are trying to provide types of bread that resemble the menu in the Ganda Roti Shop, so that many new bakery businesses are opening to compete for customers at the Ganda Roti Shop. Therefore, by looking at the conditions and problems at the Ganda Bakery, it is necessary to have a media in the form of an online-based system to integrate ordering, marketing, and customer service that can manage the relationship between the company and its customers by creating applications with the CRM concept. In this study using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method is a new paradigm in the development of web-based systems. The purpose of using this UCD method is to overcome the problem of the user's inability to use the system, and it is hoped that the user will be able to know the function of the system only in one use. The UCD method involves potential users in the early stages of development so that potential users can provide input regarding the e-commerce system interface. The final result in building e-commerce is expected to produce maximum appearance and functionality and have usability values. So that UCD is very suitable to be used in developing and building systems effectively and efficiently at the Double Bakery.

An optimized User Experience (UX) design plays a significant role in creating a comfortable browsing experience, ensuring good accessibility, and enhancing user satisfaction. This study analyzes the UX design of the Info Loker Karawang website by applying the User-Centered Design (UCD) method and evaluating the resulting prototype using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to assess the website’s ease of use. The UCD method was selected because it places the user at the center of the design process, enabling the development of solutions that align closely with users’ needs, expectations, and characteristics. This approach has proven effective in producing relevant and intuitive interfaces through stages of analysis, design, and evaluation involving active user participation. Following the design phase, the prototype was tested using the SUS instrument to measure how well the design solution met usability and user satisfaction criteria. The evaluation results indicate that applying UCD in website design significantly improves usability, achieving a SUS score of 72.5, which falls into Grade B and is categorized as “Good” on the adjective rating scale. This research provides insights into the importance of user-centered approaches in website development and demonstrates the effectiveness of SUS in evaluating and measuring the success of UX design outcomes.

Self-regulated learning (SRL) plays an important role in most life-long training projects. Easy and flexible interaction with system is an important factor impacting learners' motivation and learning outcomes. This study was carried out during Shanghai Ganbu (SHGB) training platform's design and development process. The emphasis was placed on the applicability of the User-Centered Design (UCD) method for improving usability of online learning system. Data was collected from 26 surveys to investigate the system's interface design, effectiveness and satisfaction. Paired samples t-test was applied to pre-test and post-test results. Finding indicates that UCD is an effective method to improving SRL system design.

Re.wood is a wooden furniture business located in Tinggarjaya Village, Jatilawang District, Banyumas Regency that offers a variety of furniture products, ranging from chairs to wall hangings, to beautify interior and exterior spaces, but still has a limited market share. Re.wood currently uses a conventional sales process that is less effective and lacks information for customers, which causes a lack of sales levels for Re.wood. Designing a system before entering the system development stage is a must because it ensures that the resulting solution is relevant and effective in overcoming the problems users face. The problem can be solved by designing User Interface and User Experience of web-based e-commerce applications. The design method used by researchers is the user-centered design method. User-centered design is a method of focusing on the needs of potential users in the system design stage or process. The results of designing the user interface and user experience only include the user interface developed using Figma. The resulting website produces menus such as Home Page, login, Shop, Cart, Search, and Profile. This evaluation utilized the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) methodology to assess various aspects of the system. The resulting values (1.55 for Efficiency, 1.54 for Attractiveness, 1.49 for Clarity, 1.33 for Accuracy, 1.5 for Stimulation, and 1.15 for Novelty) represent the average UEQ calculation figures for each dimension. In other words, these numbers correspond to the results obtained through the UEQ, which helps evaluate user experience in terms of efficiency, attractiveness, clarity, accuracy, stimulation, and novelty. UEQ uses a Likert scale to measure user experience, and the resulting values show that the system performs well in most aspects. These findings indicate that the prototype meets the needs and provides a satisfying user experience.

— User interface is a term used to describe the appearance of a computer or equipment that the user interacts with. User experience isn't just what consumers see; This can not only provide a design that appeals to the eye, but can also explain why the design is the way it is, a design that can make users feel comfortable when achieving their goals when utilizing the services provided by websites and applications. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the user centered design approach has a positive impact on the analysis and design of user interface and user experience on the Inspire Portal of Sam Ratulangi University.. Researchers have received the final results, namely, the mean value in the attractiveness aspect which was initially -1.61 the value became 0.71, for the second aspect, namely perspicuity (clarity) the initial value -1.72 rose to 0.68, and for the next aspect, namely the third efficiency value before improvement -1.67 to 0.61, and the fourth aspect dependability (accuracy) value before improvement -1.64 and after improvement the value became 0.67, The fifth aspect is stimulation before the improvement of the mean value of -1.64 after improvement to 0.58 and for the last aspect, namely novelty before improvement the value is -1.69 and after improvement the value becomes 0.64. The measurement tool in this study uses a user experience questionnaire, and for the final results of the benchmark comparison there are four aspects that are below average, namely attractiveness, efficiency, stimulation, and novelty. Abstrak — User interface adalah istilah yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan tampilan komputer atau peralatan yang berinteraksi dengan pengguna. Pengalaman pengguna bukan hanya apa yang dilihat konsumen; Ini tidak hanya dapat memberikan desain yang menarik bagi mata, tetapi juga dapat menjelaskan mengapa desainnya seperti itu, desain yang dapat membuat pengguna merasa nyaman ketika mencapai tujuan mereka ketika memanfaatkan layanan yang disediakan oleh situs web dan aplikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pendekatan user centered design memberikan dampak positif terhadap analisis dan desain user interface dan user experience pada Portal Inspire Universitas Sam Ratulangi. Peneliti telah menerima hasil akhir yaitu, nilai mean pada aspek attractiveness (daya tarik) yang awalnya -1.61 nilainya menjadi 0.71, untuk aspek yang kedua yaitu perspicuity (kejelasan) nilai awalnya -1.72 naik menjadi 0.68, serta untuk aspek berikutnya yaitu yang ketiga efficiency (efisiensi) nilai sebelum perbaikan -1.67 menjadi 0.61, dan aspek yang keempat dependability (ketepatan) nilai sebelum perbaikan -1.64 dan setelah perbaikan nilainya menjadi 0.67, aspek yang kelima yaitu stimulation (stimulasi) sebelum dilakukan perbaikan nilai meannya -1.64 setelah dilakukan perbaikan menjadi 0.58 dan untuk aspek yang terakhir yaitu novelty (kebaruan) sebelum perbaikan nilainya -1.69 dan setelah dilakukan perbaikan nilainya menjadi 0.64. Alat pengukuran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan user experience questionnaire, dan untuk hasil akhir dari comparison benchmarknya ada empat aspek yang dibawah rata-rata yaitu attractiveness, efficiency, stimulation, dan novelty. Agile is one of the commonly adopted methodologies in software development to achieve continuous development and meet customer satisfaction. The popularity of Agile has led to some research on the challenges faced when implemented in software development. The current era of user satisfaction is one of the success factors in product development using Agile. In this study, further research is carried out regarding the challenges in using Agile Software Development (ASD) and mapping solutions by combining it with the User-Centered Design (UCD) method. This research is presented using a systematic literature review method by reviewing 61 literatures. The results found that the combination of these two methods solved challenges related to the process implementation (16%) and in terms of product (18%), especially scope and requirement. These results provide practitioners and academicians with an understanding of ASD challenges and recommendations to deal with the challenges by combining with the UCD method.

Amil Zakat Institution Yayasan Masyarakat Muslim Freeport Indonesian or better known as YMM FI is an institution that distributed to the community. However, even though it has been operating for a long time, YMM FI does not have a website as information media. The basis of good website is the existence of an attractive interface that is easily understood by users, therefore this study has designed a user interface and user experience using the user centered design method through its four stages, namely; the first stage is to understand the context of use, at this stage interviews are conducted with users, then the second stage specify user requirements is a description of the flow of the system that will run using a unified modelling language, then the third stage is the design solution at this stage the researcher has proposed a website interface design, then the last stage is evaluate against requirements. which is the evaluation stage of the proposed interface design. The evaluation stage is carried out to provide experience for users. Based on usability testing with pay attention to effective and efficient aspects. To get the value of the usability testing aspects, researchers used the cognitive walkthrough method and the system usability scale (SUS). In the effective aspect, an average value of 100% is obtained for the admin display and 96% for the muzakki display, then the effective aspect gets an average value of 100% for the admin display and 95% for the muzakki display, then the SUS average value is 76,5 almost close to 77 which gets a good grade.

The swift expansion of e-commerce demands accessible digital platforms; nevertheless, numerous current applications lack intuitiveness, leading to an unsatisfactory user experience. This study creates a UI/UX for an online shopping platform utilizing Figma and the User Centered Design (UCD) approach to fulfill user requirements. This research aims to offer a structured method for creating e-commerce interfaces that improve user satisfaction. The techniques employed consist of user research, specification of requirements, development of prototypes, and testing for usability. The outcome is a model of an e-commerce site featuring a user-friendly interface that showcases an impressive System Usability Scale (SUS) score. Users mentioned a greater simplicity in usage and contentment, suggesting the success of the UCD method. In summary, utilizing UCD with Figma effectively created an interface that fulfills user requirements and boosts engagement.

Abstrak. Website dalam lembaga pendidikan berfungsi sebagai pusat informasi resmi yang valid dan terpercaya. Tampilan website yang baik memberikan pengalaman positif bagi pengguna. Metode User Centered Design (UCD) menjadikan pengguna sebagai pusat rancangan desain, yang bertujuan meningkatkan antarmuka dan pengalaman pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan metode UCD dalam perancangan desain UI/UX website SMAN 5 Karawang. Diharapkan metode UCD dapat mengatasi kendala antarmuka dan pengalaman pengguna, dengan menciptakan desain yang ramah pengguna. Hasil penelitian ini adalah rancangan desain UI/UX website SMAN 5 Karawang yang dapat digunakan sebagai dasar pengembangan website sekolah. Selain itu, hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pada skor evaluasi SUS yang semula 62.8 meningkat menjadi 78.4. Abstract. Websites in educational institutions function as valid and reliable centers of official information. A good website design provides a positive experience for users. The User Centered Design (UCD) method places users at the center of design, aiming to improve interfaces and user experiences. This study aims to apply the UCD method in designing the UI/UX of the SMAN 5 Karawang school website. It is hoped that the UCD method can address interface and user experience issues by creating user-friendly designs. The result of this research is a UI/UX design for the SMAN 5 Karawang school website that can be used as a basis for the school's website development. The research findings also show an improvement in the SUS evaluation score, which initially was 62.8 and increased to 78.4.

An organization usually has events that need to be publicized to the wider community. The Indonesian Professional Assessors Association (IASPRO) only uses social media to publicize events such as seminars, workshops, or other events that are held. As a result, many organizational members or potential participants do not know that the event is being held or are even confused about registering and finding out what the participant quota for the event is. To make it easier for potential participants, a system is needed to organize event publication and registration. Therefore, an event management system is created, namely a web-based application with a User-centered Design approach. The use of the User-centered Design method aims to produce a system that suits the needs and comfort of the user. At the testing stage, the author uses the System Usability Scale method to evaluate the system interface, and black box testing to measure software functionality and ensure the software meets user needs. Test results using the System Usability Scale obtained an Acceptability range value of 81.67 with Grade A, with these results it is certain that users are satisfied with the current interface design. The development of information technology has changed the paradigm in seeking and obtaining information, including in the context of education in Indonesia. This research aims to design and build a monitoring system for student academic activities at SD Negeri 1018886 Kiri Hilir, by applying the User Centered Design (UCD) method. The UCD method prioritizes user needs and experience, by involving admins, teachers and students in the entire planning, design and development process. The system built allows users to monitor students' academic activities in real-time via a website that can be accessed at any time. The testing method used is black box testing, which shows that the system functions as expected by the user. The test results show that the development of a student academic monitoring system using the UCD method has succeeded in producing a system that is effective and meets user needs.
