TCLOUD: A Reliable Data Storage Architecture for Cloud Computing

Encryption technology can be incorporated into access control mechanisms based on user identities, user attributes, or resource attributes. Traditional public-key encryption requires different data to have different keys that can be distributed to users who satisfy perspective access control policies along with the encrypted version of the data. However, some distributed or pervasive system environments wish to avoid the public-key encryption’s all-or-nothing data access limitation when considering their performance requirements. Attribute-based encryption incorporates access control policies and attributes with encryption and decryption functions and a one-to-many authorization scheme that requires fewer keys than public-key encryption. It also utilizes collusion-resistance, which provides a more efficient and flexible attribute-based access control mechanism that supports high-performance systems (e.g., cloud, IoT, disrupt-tolerant networks, wireless sensor networks, mobile ad-hoc networks, and public search service systems).

Multimedia social networks(MMSNs) have provided a convenient way to share the multimedia contents such as images, videos, blogs, etc. online. However, due to various privacy concerns people often want to selectively share the contents with their friends, family, colleagues, etc. Access control mechanisms help in this situation by deciding the individual who can access the contents and who cannot. But traditional access control mechanisms may not scale well for fine grained access control requirements (e.g. different access control parameters for different parts in a picture) and large number of users in MMSNs. Thus, an efficient access control mechanism suitable for MMSNs is required. In this paper, we present an efficient bit-vector transform based access control mechanism suitable for MMSNs. Mathematical analysis and experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

This study constructs a secure and efficient data storage and sharing architecture for the Internet of Vehicles. A practical Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithm using reputation was proposed to address the shortcomings of roadside unit equipment in the architecture. The experimental results showed that in the performance verification of reinforced data storage, the storage proportion of the research scheme was always lower than that of the comparison algorithm. In the simulated 5000 transactions, it was always lower than 40 MB, while the comparison algorithm reached a maximum of 72 MB. The efficiency of querying registration information and vehicle data increased by 38.2% and 49.1%, respectively. In the shared performance verification, the fully loaded roadside unit devices decreased by a maximum of 2.8%. Under heavy load conditions, the fully loaded nodes decreased by a maximum of 20.7%. In the validation of the proposed consensus algorithm, its performance was more stable in terms of throughput, and the number of transactions processed per second by d (10) remained basically between 380 and 640. Overall, the constructed secure and efficient data storage and sharing architecture for the Internet of Vehicles is efficient and secure, which can be effectively applied in practical IoV systems.

A novel and efficient user access control scheme for wireless body area sensor networks

We describe a novel approach for building a secure and fault tolerant data storage service in collaborative work environments, which uses perfect secret sharing schemes to store data. Perfect secret sharing schemes have found little use in managing generic data because of the high computation overheads incurred by such schemes. Our proposed approach uses a novel combination of XOR secret sharing and replication mechanisms, which drastically reduce the computation overheads and achieve speeds comparable to standard encryption schemes. The combination of secret sharing and replication manifests itself as an architectural framework, which has the attractive property that its dimension can be varied to exploit tradeoffs amongst different performance metrics. We evaluate the properties and performance of the proposed framework and show that the combination of perfect secret sharing and replication can be used to build efficient fault-tolerant and secure distributed data storage systems.

Efficient secure data storage based on novel blockchain model over IoT-based smart computing systems

Cloud storage relieves the user from the local management of software and hardware by enabling high quality on demand storage services to store their data in remote locations. Storing the data in remote locations not only reduces the management overheads but also eliminates the user’s physical control over data storage and data security. The loss of physical control over data brings out various security issues such as data loss, tampering of data, data modification. The primary issue is to ensure the correctness of data stored in remote locations which can be resolved by enabling public auditing for cloud storage services. In public auditing, not only the user but anyone can verify the data correctness. The introduction of third-party auditor, who works on behalf of cloud user to verify data integrity helps to reduce user computation resources and cost. The key prerequisite for the public auditing protocol is to support dynamic data operations as data in cloud are dynamic in nature. Cloud is a multiuser environment, so the auditing protocol must scale well to handle multiple auditing processes simultaneously. This paper aims at an extensive survey which mainly outlines the requirements for cloud public auditability and compares varied public auditing protocols.

With advances in the field of cloud computing many computing rsources and/or services are being provided to the end user on a pay -as-you-use basis. Data outsourcing is a new paradigm in which a third party provides storage services. This is more cost e ffective for the user as there is no need of purchasing expensive hardware and software for data storage. The user is also relieved from administrative activities of software upgrades and maintenance.Before data out sourcing can become viable, the data pr ovider needs to guarantee that the datais secure, be able to execute queries on the data, and the results of the queries must also be secure and not visible to the data provider. Data encryption, Homomorphic Encryption, Secret Sharing algorithms and Private Information R etrieval (PIR) are the techniques widely used for secure data outsourcing. CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability) are the challenging issues associated with data storage management with/without data outsourcing. In this paper the performance of two secret sharing algo rithms are compared. The Shamir’s secret sharing algorithm and Rabin’s Information Dispersal Algorithm (IDA) are implemented in a private cloud setup using the OpenStack Cloud framework.

<span lang="EN-US">Cloud Computing is the ability to improve the utility or train new human resources without investing in new infrastructure, or add capabilities to existence without the latest software licensing. It expanded the capabilities of Information Technology (IT). From the past few years, cloud computing has developed from a good business concept in the best rising sectors of the IT industry. But more information on individuals and companies was put in the cloud, and concerns began to think about how secure the cloud environment was. Despite cloud surrounding structures, enterprise users still do not want to expand their business in the cloud. Security reduces the growth of cloud computing and continues to spread the market with complexity with data privacy and data protection. The security of cloud computing has constantly been an significant aspect of improved quality of service from cloud service providers. Data storage in the cloud has a problem related to data security. However, cloud computing construct many new security challenges which have not been well examine. In order to ensure that the user's data in the cloud is secure, we have proposed an effective mechanism with a distinctive feature of data integrity and privacy. This paper focusing on problems relating to the cloud data storage techniques and security in virtual environment. We recommend a method for providing data storage and security in cloud using public key Cryptosystem, which uses the concept of the modified RSA algorithm to provide better security for the data stored in the cloud. </span>

JCDC: A blockchain-based framework for secure data storage and circulation in JointCloud

The exponential growth of data storage and sharing in cloud demands an efficient access control mechanism for flexible data sharing. Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE) is a promising cryptographic solution to share data among users in the cloud. But it suffers from user revocation, attribute revocation, forward secrecy and backward secrecy issues. Communication and computation overhead is more due to the linear variation in the size of ciphertext and the secret key with respect to the number of attributes. In this paper, we investigate an on-demand access control for flexible sharing of secure data among randomly selected users. It is a tunable access control mechanism for the flexible sharing of ciphertext classes in the cloud. It delegates the decryption rights of any set of ciphertext classes among the users only if their attributes are satisfied with the access policy associated with ciphertext and if they should possess a compact key corresponding to the intended set of ciphertext classes. It produces a constant size ciphertext and a compact secret key to efficiently utilize the storage space and reduce the communication cost. The compact key aggregates the power of secret keys used to encrypt the outsourced data. This method flexibly shares the ciphertext classes among the randomly selected users with a specific set of attributes. All other ciphertext classes outside the set remain confidential. It allows dynamic data updates by verifying the data manipulation privilege of users with the help of claim policy. The proposed scheme provides access control of varying granularity, at user-level, at file-level, and attribute-level. Granularity levels can be chosen based on applications and user demands. Hence, it is a multi-level, tunable access control over the shared data. It is very useful for secure data storage. This scheme tackles user revocation and attribute revocation problems so that, it allows the data owner to revoke a specific user or a group of users. It prevents forward and backward secrecy issues.

In the current digital era, people's need for data storage media that is practical and can be accessed at any time is increasing. This research aims to design and implement a practical cloud-based data storage system using a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B device using the Samba and OpenVPN applications. The system focuses on storing users' data (private cloud), which allows users to directly access files and data via a storage server. The method used in this research includes a literature review to support system development. Testing was carried out to evaluate the security of the system being built by comparing access to private cloud server services before and after using the OpenVPN application. Test results show that using the OpenVPN application increases the security of data exchange, with good encryption in communications between client and server. The resulting system runs according to the initial design and can function as a secure private cloud system. This research can contribute to the development of efficient and secure data storage solutions, as well as show the potential for using the Raspberry Pi as an energy and cost-saving personal cloud server device.

Security in relational database systems pursues two conflicting interests: confidentiality and availability. In order to effect a compromise between these interests, two techniques have evolved. On the one hand, controlled query evaluation always preserves confidentiality, but leads to undecidable inference problems in general. On the other hand, access control features simple access decisions, but possibly cannot avoid unwanted information flows. This paper introduces a form of access control that, in combination with restricting the query language, results in an efficient access control mechanism under preservation of confidentiality. Moreover, we justify the necessity of our restrictions and give an outlook on how to use our result as building block for a less restrictive but still secure system.

Data security storage technology is an important part of information management. The security of data storage is the key to user information security, system operation efficiency and economic benefits. The implementation of data security storage technology plays an important role in improving the efficiency of data management and reducing the operating costs of enterprises. Due to the data leakage caused by intentional or unintentional wrong operation, which infringes the user’s personal privacy, the traditional data storage methods face greater risks in the operation process. These disadvantages affect the use effect of the system, and even lead to system paralysis and data loss in serious cases. Distributed database has the characteristics of high degree of structure, good openness and small storage space requirements, and plays an important role in data management. In this paper, a data security storage model is studied combining the symmetric encryption algorithm, asymmetric encryption algorithm and the hash algorithm. A data security storage system is then proposed based on distributed storage while its functional composition, data transmission framework and database design are described. The proposed system in this paper is expected improve the data storage security so as to reduce the risks of information leakage.

In the article was substantiated the essence of blockchain technology, examines its role, significance and directions of use in various spheres of public life. It has been established that the reason for the widespread use of blockchain to optimize business processes in various fields of activity lies in the advantages of this innovative technology, in particular, decentralization, transparency and security of data storage through the use of cryptographic information security mechanisms. At the same time, it was found that blockchain technology, despite its advantages, has disadvantages associated with the high network energy consumption, insufficient data storage capacity, scalability problems, lack of standardization and legal regulation of its implementation in various sectors of the economy. It is substantiated that one of the most acceptable business processes for using blockchain is accounting, since this technology is based on the double entry method, known in accounting practice, in which each transaction is recorded twice in the same amount for each of the parties to the transaction. It was found that the use of blockchain technology leads to the emergence of the so-called triple-entry accounting method. It is substantiated that the introduction of blockchain technology into accounting practice will create the prerequisites for optimizing a number of routine accounting processes, save resources on accounting, ensure accuracy, transparency and security of data, reduce the risk of distortion of accounting information and will build trust in the accounting institution. Taking into account the functionality of blockchain technology, possible directions for its use in the field of accounting are proposed, in particular for maintaining operational accounting in real time, accounting for accounts payable and receivable, accounting for the movement of the assets within an enterprise, carrying out a multilateral audit of transactions by all participants with access to blockchain networks.
