Towards an UML Based Graphical Representation of Grid Workflow Applications

Biochemically recurrent prostate cancer (BCR) is the main indication to perform prostate-specific membrane antigen PET/CT. However, localizing BCR with prostate-specific membrane antigen PET/CT remains challenging in patients with low prostate-specific antigen (PSA) values. Here, we studied the impact of advanced PET image reconstruction methods on BCR localization and interobserver agreement with 18F-DCFPyL PET/CT scans in patients with BCR and low PSA values. Methods: Twenty-four patients with BCR and a PSA level of less than 2.0 ng/mL were included. PET images were reconstructed with 4-mm voxels and 2-mm voxels, both with and without point-spread function. All scans were interpreted by 4 nuclear medicine physicians. Additionally, PET examinations of 5 patients with primary prostate cancer and confirmed absence of lymph node metastases (after lymph node dissection) were included, to assess the risk of introducing false-positive findings when using advanced reconstruction. Calculation of BCR localization rates (scan positivity) was based on consensus among our readers (≥3 readers regarding a scan positive for BCR), as well as the individual scan interpretations of the readers. Results: In the consensus analysis, BCR localization rates were not higher using advanced reconstruction (62.5%-66.7%) than using 4-mm reconstruction (62.5%). On the basis of individual readings, however, more scans were positive using 2-mm reconstruction (74.0%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 65.0%-82.9%) (P = 0.027) and 2-mm reconstruction with point-spread function (75.0%; 95% CI, 66.2%-83.8%) (P = 0.014) than 4-mm reconstruction (65.6%; 95% CI, 56.0%-75.3%). A higher number of lesions was detected on the 2-mm scans (median, 2 lesions; interquartile range, 1-3) than the 4-mm scans (median, 1; interquartile range, 0-3; P = 0.008). The advanced reconstruction methods did not increase interobserver agreement (80.6%-84.7%), compared with the 4-mm scans (75.7%, P = 0.08-0.25). In the patients with primary prostate cancer, an equal number of false-positive lesions was observed among the different reconstruction methods (overall, n = 13). Conclusion: Applying advanced image reconstruction for 18F-DCFPyL PET/CT scans did not increase BCR localization in patients with BCR and low PSA values (reader consensus). Yet, the increased number of positive individual readings may imply that further development of image reconstruction methods holds potential to improve BCR localization. No improved interobserver agreement was observed with advanced reconstruction compared with standard 4-mm reconstruction.

Network teaching is to use computer equipment and Internet technology in the virtual space, through a certain method to implement the teaching method on the network, the perfection of the network teaching system can directly replace the traditional teaching method in the whole process of teaching. In order to solve the problem of system development, this paper carries out the demand analysis. First, the use of data flow graph technology, depicting information flow and data from the input to the output of the process of transformation; and then, the use of data dictionary technology, defining the relevant elements of the data flow diagram; finally, the use of tree structure diagram is represented by the administrator subsystem, teacher subsystem and student subsystem structure of the system. The requirement analysis system design the bridge of analysis and software, has laid a foundation for the system development.

Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) Tools is a set of software that results in high-quality and maintainable software products. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is one of the most commonly used CASE tools for analyzing and expressing software requirements. Considerably, UML overcomes ambiguity limitation which results from infamous shortcoming of national language. However, how to express requirements of E-Commerce System is still a very challenging problem. In this paper, requirement analysis is highlighted by IBM Rational Rose and Microsoft Visio, and typical E-Commerce system by UML is investigated as well. At the end, a guideline generated for Jewellery E-Commerce (JEC) is presented by UML use cases, activity diagrams, and data flow diagrams in details.

This paper describes model transformation for analyzing dynamic behavior of large-scale systems. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) based system model is transformed into the Colored Petri Nets (CPN) model, which is used for analyzing the scenarios of the use cases of a system and checking freedom of system deadlock at an early stage of software development. The CPN model that is executable is hierarchically structured on the basis of the functional decomposition of a large-scale system. The UML-based system model consisting of the use case model, class model and collaboration model is not executable so that the dynamic behavior of the system cannot be analyzed until implementation of the system. However, the UML-based system model has no hierarchical structure to be transformed into the hierarchical CPN model as well. The discrepancies of dynamic and structural views in the two models are resolved by transformation of the UML model into the layered, executable CPN model with three layers — the use case layer, object layer and operation layer. The model transformation is carried out using relationships among the use case model, class model, and collaboration model of the UML. With the executable CPN model transformed, the dynamic properties of the system are analyzed using the simulation technique, occurrence graph, and state space report provided by the Design/CPN tool. The approach in this paper is validated through two case studies — the gas station system and the distributed factory automation system.

Grid workflow applications are emerging as an important new alternative to develop truly distributed applications for the grid platform. The modeling of grid workflow system is a challenging task, due to the high degree of autonomy and heterogeneity of the cooperative organizations under distributed environments. This paper presents a formal specification methodology for grid workflow modeling which is founded upon the Pi-Calculus process algebra. This method works well for characterizing the behaviors and interactions of the grid workflow processes that belong to different organizations in terms of the semantics of Pi-Calculus.

Along with the unprecedented data-collecting capability, the higher algorithm accuracy and real-time application requirements, redundant spatial computing model had been implemented. Traditionally these spatial computing models are stored in different application centers. To avoid waste of resource, Grid workflow provides a powerful tool for sharing both remote sensing data and processing middleware. In order to enhance the interoperability of the heterogeneous quantitative remote sensing retrieval model in the Grid workflow environment, we propose a web service based Grid workflow framework to improve this situation. According to the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and web service standards, we implement a prototype of this framework. Through the experiment, we can find that web service can work well with Grid workflow and provide a management ability of remote sensing model. Also this approach can separate the application logic and process logic, providing the interoperability ability both in application and process layers.

The emergence of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) has provided software developers with an effective and efficient shared language. However, UML is often too restrictive in initial, informal, and creative modelling, and it is in some cases not restrictive enough, e.g., for code generation. Based on user studies, we propose that tool and meta-level support for several levels of restriction in diagrams and models is needed. We furthermore present a tool, Knight, which supports several levels of restriction as well as ways of transferring models from one level of restriction to another. Data flow is the name applied when data are passed from one thing to another. The “thing” that passes the data can include a piece of software or an application, a computer or a region in a computer, a person, group, or organizational unit, or combinations of these. The data passed can be simple or complex and it can be passed as a stream or a unit. A diagram that depicts objects or processes and the possible flows of data among them is called a data flow diagram (DFD). DFDs are useful for depicting information about how an organization operates; the interfaces between an application and the people or other applications that use it; and the high‐level design of an application. DFDs have been used in application development for a long time. There are two alternatives to (pure) data flow and each alternative has substantial disadvantages when used to link software components. One of these alternatives to data flow is for the data not to flow; that is, have various software modules access it directly in shared common data areas. A second alternative to pure data flow is the “call” statement, used in most languages to link subroutines. The call statement has two substantial limitations versus pure data flow: it also passes control and it explicitly names the target subroutine. In today's application development methodologies, DFDs are important for: analyzing organizational units; depicting the context of an application relative to users and other applications; designing the high level (process) architecture of applications; showing the interfaces between application processes and data stores; and documenting batch job streams. DFDs are likely to be increasingly important for designing distributed systems, object‐oriented design, depicting asynchronous components, and for reusable code. An examination of each is given.

Faculty of Teacher Training and Administrative Education is an administrative service at Bung Hatta University, Padang City. The data collection process for incoming and outgoing letters at the FKIP Administrative Unit is still said to be using the manual method. This study aims to produce a desktop-based administrative information system at the Teaching and Education Faculty with the aim of facilitating managers in recording incoming and outgoing mail numbers. This study uses the waterfall method with the design stages starting from analysis, system design using models including Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), and Unified Modeling Language (UML). Database storage using MySQL. The design phase ends with testing the program to produce an administration application at the Bung Hatta University FKIP using Java Netbeans IDE 8.1 and MySQL. This application can facilitate and speed up the process of data collection and search for incoming and outgoing mail numbers in the FKIP Administration.

Many people are interested to this snake not only for hobby but also for business. The snake lovers and breeders have already successes to cultivate this snake in normal cultivation. Then, many snake lovers want to develop their cultivation by crossing the gen morph is one of the result. Morph is a new kind of snake that has different colour and shade from albino. Technology development in smart phone, such as BlackBerry, Android and iPhone gives so many information for the users. Because of that, the researcher is interested to make an application or software to help the snake lovers and breeders of phyton molurus bivittatus to know the result of genetic crosses. The purpose of this research is to build an information system in application mobile for the snake lovers and breeders nedd. Research method used in this research is Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) for the modeling language. The result of this research has been successful to built an application of information system that can give the information about the genetic crosses of phyton molurus bivittatus based on the pretension. Computational acceleration on graphics processing units(GPUs) can make advanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) reconstruction algorithms attractive in clinical settings, thereby improving the quality of MR images across a broad spectrum of applications. At present, MR imaging is often limited by high noise levels, significant imaging artifacts, and/or long data acquisition (scan) times. Advanced image reconstruction algorithms can mitigate these limitations and improve image quality by simultaneously operating on scan data acquired with arbitrary trajectories and incorporating additional information such as anatomical constraints. However, the improvements in image quality come at the expense of a considerable increase in computation.This paper describes the acceleration of an advanced reconstruction algorithm on NVIDIA's Quadro FX 5600. Optimizations such as register allocating the voxel data, tiling the scan data, and storing the scan data in the Quadro's constant memory dramatically reduce the reconstruction's required bandwidth to on-chip memory. The Quadro's special functional units provide substantial acceleration of the trigonometric computations in the algorithm's inner loops, and experimentally-tuned code transformations increase the reconstruction's performance by an additional 20%.The reconstruction of a 3D image with 128^3 voxels ultimately achieves 150 GFLOPS and requires less than twominutes on the Quadro, while reconstruction on a quad-core CPU is thirteen times slower. Furthermore, relative to the true image, the error exhibited by the advanced reconstruction is only 12%, while conventional reconstruction techniques incur error of 42%. In short, the acceleration afforded by the GPU greatly increases the appeal of the advanced reconstruction for clinical MRI applications.

This study presented an optimized approach to Data Security Monitoring in Cloud Computing Infrastructure via an Improved Robust Virtualization Model. Malicious activities have continued to become an alarming issue in cloud computing. Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service-provider interaction. In this work, a new virtualization model for data security monitoring was developed. Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology was adopted and design was achieved with tools such as Dataflow Diagram, Use-Case Diagram, Unified Modelling Language (UML) Diagram, and Sequence Diagram. The study utilized Five Hundred (500) datasets from robust repositories, of which 30% was used for training, while 70% was used for testing. Parameters for analyzing and evaluating the results of both systems encompassed the number of adopted algorithms, the number of adopted technologies, the number of adopted design tools, and the number of tested records. From the performance evaluation, the new system showed better performance than the existing system as it achieved an accuracy rate of 1.07% as compared to the existing system which achieved an accuracy rate of 0.48%. The newly developed model was for fraudulent data detection in cloud computing infrastructure with a special emphasis on financial fraud. This is because; financial frauds are committed against property, involving the unlawful conversion of the ownership of the property to one's personal use and benefit. In addition, the new system was further optimized with a deep neural network and logistic regression technique. This study could be beneficial to anti-corruption agencies, corporate organizations, and researchers with keen interest in the study area.

The article analyzes the existing methods of managing data flows in mobile radio communications. During the analysis, the peculiarities of the functioning and construction of these networks were considered. It has been established that such networks have features different from other networks, such as mobility, dynamic topology, independent organization, use of mobile means of communication, lack of fixed data transmission routes, etc. The task of providing routing in mobile radio communication devices, mobile radio networks, and the types of routing in communication networks are considered. The conditions for the implementation of the routing task and the features that characterize the routing process have been established. The levels of the OSI open systems model and the most well-known protocols that work at these levels and are used in data flow management are considered. Data flow management methods are classified by type and a list of requirements for the process of data flow transmission in mobile radio networks is defined, taking into account the peculiarities of the functioning of mobile radio communication means, which must be taken into account when building a mobile radio network management system. It has been established that at the current stage of information technology development, data flow management methods are mostly adapted for use in computer, wired or fixed networks and do not take into account the conditions of use in mobile radio communication devices. It has been established that the construction and operation of an effective data flow control subsystem in the control systems of mobile radio networks and mobile radio communication means requires the use of the latest technologies and modern approaches in the development of data flow control methods and methods that will ensure the functioning of the corresponding data flow control subsystem. When choosing protocols, methods, methods of managing data flows, it is proposed to focus on adaptation, modification of approaches or their combined use based on the target function, taking into account the peculiarities of the functioning of mobile radio networks and mobile radio communication means.
