A Re v ersed Crime Story (A Performance Serie s) 1 Christmas Eve, 2015, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Edy Poppy, Julian Blaue, and their sixmonth-old son are assaulted and robbed by two men from a favela with a large knife.Blaue & Poppy assume the reason for the assault is poverty, caused by the unjust distribution of common global goods.Are the upper and middle classes coresponsible for this unjust distribution?1) The Criminal Complaints Performance (2018): Blaue & Poppy watched, thus supported, the 2014 World Cup, with its horrible consequences for Rio's economically underprivileged, possibly also the two assailants.Blaue & Poppy "enact" a law against structural violence and "press charges against themselves."2) The Interim Report Performance (2018): Back in Rio, on an investigative journey in search of evidence against themselves, they follow the trail of their assailants.Here, they present the findings of their investigation and verify their assessments.3) The Trial Against Ourselves (2021): Blaue & Poppy present the "evidence" collected in Rio.Although "the prosecutor" (Laura Mitzkus) agrees with their guilt, they are defended unwillingly by their "defense lawyer" (Samantha Lawson)."The judge"
