Interdisciplinary Perspectives to Sustain Effective Post-COVID-19 Classrooms

The high school curriculum encourages students to have metacognitive skills. Genetic is one of the materials in biology that train metacognitive skills. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the learning system has changed into online learning that causing new problems, such as teaching materials that are not able to facilitate students to train metacognitive skills. Teaching materials in the form of electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) by using Know-Want-Learned (KWL) strategy assisted by the application of Ms. Office Word can be used to facilitate online learning. This research aims to describe the effect of implementing E-LKPD by using Know-Want-Learned (KWL) strategy on learning outcomes and student’s metacognitive skills. This study was conducted online using One Group Pre-test Post-test Design which was carried out at SMA Negeri 3 Tuban on 30 students on XII MIPA 1. The results showed that the implementation of learning obtained an average of 100% in the very practical category. The student’s responses obtained an average of 96.7% in the very practical category. Learning outcomes based on the pre-test and post-test score obtained the N-Gain Score’s average of 0.6%. The completeness of the item indicators with sensitivity score of ≥ 0.30. Metacognitive skills based on the average of increasing metacognitive score from poor category to the very good category. Thus it can be concluded that E-LKPD by using KWL strategyas a solution for the lack of material in the outbreak of Covid-19 is practical and effective to be applied in online learning to train metacognitive skills.

The Covid-19 outbreak today changes a lot in the way teaching and learning progress in Indonesia. In most parts of the country, teachers still use the traditional ways to transfer knowledge from the collaboration of the conventional means of learning such as textbooks, boards, and situated in a classroom. In this pandemic situation, Government proposes that all teaching and learning activities in the schools should be conducted online. It makes stakeholders of education sectors, especially primary and secondary, manage learning strategies and systems. Based on the situation, Universitas Terbuka as the pioneer of open learning system has one program to facilitate students come from different places all around. It has an online tutorial where students can access material not only from the textbook but also supplementary materials such as teacher’s tutorial video, online tasks and exercises, and also online assessment. This kind of system can be adapted for traditional schools in the Pandemic era so that learning loss will not happen since students and teachers can still get connected to achieve learning goals. This article describes how the online tutorial UT can be implemented for primary, secondary, and even higher education in the Pandemic era to replace the traditional learning systems.

In the middle of a worldwide health crisis that threatens lives and containment measures that endanger our way of life, we are confronted with the sobering reality that the world we return to will be irrevocably altered. Thus, this deadly situation has flipped the offline teaching process and paved the way towards online-based learning. In today's scenario, learning has stepped into the digital world, where teachers and students are virtually connected. It is also the time where the teaching and learning activities were immediately shifted to full web-based learning. Despite the obstacles faced by both teachers and learners, online learning has proven to be a cure for this unprecedented worldwide pandemic. Transitioning from conventional face-to-face learning to online learning may be a completely different experience for both learners and educators, which they must adjust to since there are few or no other options. Hence, in this research investigation, the researcher explored the construct validity of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in analyzing the factors that influence the acceptance of the use of technologies based on the user's perspective in a higher educational institution in the Philippines.The analysis revealed that utilizing Google Classroom as an LMS was beneficial to the faculty members since it allowed them to complete their academic tasks swiftly and effortlessly. They also have positive attitude towards using LMS and agreed that using various online platforms was simple and easy for them. In addition, the findings also suggest that faculty members have had a great experience utilizing online learning through Google Classroom in their classes, and they are confident that they will continue to use this Learning Management System in the next school years and will promote it to their colleagues. Therefore, educational institutions should pay more attention on the development of its educational and ICT infrastructure most especially in this time of pandemic wherein web-based learning is the current trend in our educational landscape. Furthermore, policy makers should anchor their decisions on the findings of this study most especially on the procurement of various educational technologies and/or ICT infrastructures in their respective educational institutions. Also, educational administrators should develop an understanding on how various factors or variables significantly influences their intention to use a particular learning management system.

In this paper, we consider a learning strategy that allows one to transmit information between two coupled phase oscillator systems (called teaching and learning systems) via frequency adaptation. The dynamics of these systems can be modeled with reference to a number of partially synchronized cluster states and transitions between them. Forcing the teaching system by steady but spatially nonhomogeneous inputs produces cyclic sequences of transitions between the cluster states, that is, information about inputs is encoded via a "winnerless competition" process into spatio-temporal codes. The large variety of codes can be learned by the learning system that adapts its frequencies to those of the teaching system. We visualize the dynamics using "weighted order parameters (WOPs)" that are analogous to "local field potentials" in neural systems. Since spatio-temporal coding is a mechanism that appears in olfactory systems, the developed learning rules may help to extract information from these neural ensembles.

In the current situation of the accounting courses for the major of finance and economics and the problems faced by the limited teaching time, textbooks and their contents cannot catch up with the development of the Internet due to the limited conditions of teaching experiment environment and practical activities. Therefore, an efficient plan is proposed in this study to build a virtual reality-assisted teaching system based on computer networks that is compatible with conventional classroom teaching methods. A new model integrates teaching activities and extracurricular network interaction, theoretical learning and practical work, practical teaching activities, and online teaching activities. It guides learners to learn and carry out projects beyond the teaching activities and provide all-round technical support for the teaching activities of business computing and corresponding professional courses. Through the functions provided by the online auxiliary teaching system, the theoretical and practical simulation exercises and the practical operation of the application software system are connected to a whole teaching system.

Relevance. The COVID-19 pandemic is still making adjustments to the modern realities of both healthcare and society as a whole. The incidence of COVID-19 in children and adolescents is becoming more and more urgent. At the end of January 2022, in Moscow, the number of registered cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in minors increased 14 times (from 2,000 to 28,000), and the number of hospitalizations increased 10 times, to 120 people per day. During the pandemic, local outbreaks of COVID-19 remain relevant, especially in organized groups. Aim. Description of a local outbreak of COVID-19 in an organized educational group of common residence, preventive measures and characteristics of the infection. Materials and methods. The results of the examination of the focus of COVID-19, medical records of hospitalized patients, regulatory documents, and literary sources were used. A descriptive epidemiological method was used. Statistical data processing was not carried out due to the small sample size. Results. In the spring of 2021, an outbreak of COVID-19 was registered in one specialized educational and methodological center in Moscow with ten victims. The center is located in a five-story brick building designed for the teaching and living of pupils. When registering the first case of COVID-19 in a specialized educational and methodological center, an operating mode was established on the principle of an observatory. Nine children were hospitalized and one teenager was treated for scrap in Moscow. All hospitalized patients underwent computed tomography of the chest organs, no changes in the lungs were noted, which is a significant difference compared to adults, in whom in most cases the SARS-Cov-2 virus enters the lungs. All patients in the hospital received antiviral therapy (Umifenovir 200 mg orally 4 times a day, 5 days), decongestants, local antiseptics, antihistamines were used according to indications. At discharge, all adolescents had positive results for COVID-19 according to the results of PCR swabs from the nasopharynx and oropharynx, and therefore, with an improvement in their general condition, they were transferred for further observation to the observational rehabilitation center COVID-19 «Krylatskiye kholmy». Conclusions. Living in communal dormitories and learning at the place of residence involves close contacts at home and during classes, which predetermines a high risk of infection with the SARS-Cov-2 virus and the occurrence of foci. Promptly carried out anti-epidemic measures make it possible to interrupt the chain of infections in the outbreak. Compared to adults, adolescents experienced fewer and less severe symptoms of COVID-19. Although in most cases, children do not get severely ill from COVID-19 as adults, they can play an important role in the transmission of the infection and in the formation of its outbreak.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, the widespread application of online teaching has brought challenges and opportunities for higher education. Developing an effective teaching system is the focus of curriculum teaching reform in the post pandemic era. According to the characteristics of Human and Animal Physiology, the course teachers has developed a new teaching system by updating the teaching concept, reconstructing the contents of the course, changing the teaching modes, strengthening the integration of moral and intellectual education, and improving the assessment approaches. This teaching system is aimed at meeting the need of personalized learning for students and adapting to a new teaching environment. This article introduces the exploration and practice of the curriculum reform.

The Application of Basketball Game in College Basketball Teaching

Purpose: The study aims to address the low student motivation in learning and the lack of creativity, especially during lectures. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research used the qualitative descriptive research approach to determine the effectiveness of learning through an online instructional system. The participants comprised of 145 students of the Educational Administration study program. Practical Implications: The research findings indicated students’ increased interest in conducting the discussions with the lecturers and the other students, proving the effectiveness of information systems in learning. With the challenges associated with mobility coupled with the convenience information systems present like almost unlimited access to academic information, the future of education will be inseparable from information systems. Before the current situation, online learning thought it had been around for years, it was unpopular, mostly it was used in developed countries, but currently, the abrupt global confinement has led to online schooling and learning as a new norm at a national level and also turning out to be a global trend, influencing the mode of learning and delivery in developing countries, such as Indonesia. Originality/Value: There are several studies conducted on information management systems in higher education learning, but its adoption in mainstream learning systems in higher education has been treated with reservations’ policymakers in many countries. This study's value is to draw more attention to the empirical proof effectiveness of these systems in higher learning to stimulate policy shifts towards its adoption as mandatory mainstream learning systems even after the social lockdown measures are currently gripping the world.

Shocks and Aftershocks of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Afghanistan Higher Education Institutions

During the outbreak of COVID-19, schools at all levels were closed and face-to-face classes were cancelled. The stagnation was considered as the most impactful in human history. Surprisingly, the incident also revealed that the education sector was most vulnerable and yet resilient. Schools that have been implementing e-learning/online learning/blended or flexible learning prior to the pandemic mostly survived and were able to adapt to the new normal while those heavily relied on face-to-face classes delivery suffered the most. Readiness and responsiveness were the two key factors for educational institutions to survive. Readiness here included not merely the preparation of e-learning and teaching resources but also the stakeholders’ learning and teaching practices, habits and willingness. Schools’ timely responses and decision making on the changes of policies, curricula, timetabling as well as choosing the appropriate learning and teaching platforms were equally important. This study looked specifically into one of Hong Kong largest vocational and professional education and training (VPET) institute’s learning and teaching policy and students’ online learning experience in response to the outbreak of the pandemic. The institute also experienced the closed down of campuses and classes suspension due to the social unrest in Hong Kong in 2019. This paper first reviewed the contingency policy followed by a study on the implementation of online learning and teaching activities during the pandemic. A questionnaire survey was then conducted to 1,381 full-time and 193 part-time students on their online learning experience for the enhancement of the online learning and teaching practices and future planning. Results of the study showed that online learning experience varied amongst students from different learning programmes. This study also found that part-time students had a more satisfying online learning experience and were more adaptable to online learning than full-time students. Findings also revealed that clarity and sufficient guideline in using online learning platform and learning materials, enhancement of online assessment as well as guidance, support and feedback from teachers were the salient points to be addressed.

Despite globalisation, the essential role of FDI in economic development has not changed. However, many mechanisms and dynamics of FDI-assisted development have changed: there is greater variation in the kinds of FDI, the benefits each offers, and the manner in which each interacts with the host economy. This introductory article attempts to place the discussions and issues raised in this special issue of The European Journal of Development Research within the wider literature on FDI and development. The papers here analyse the role of MNEs in industrial development in a 'learning system' perspective. They also analyse the policy tools available for using FDI for economic development in a liberalising, post-WTO world, and the constraints to doing this. While this is a nascent debate, this special issue points to a variety of 'soft' policy options that provide a pragmatic response to the complexities of globalisation.

School is one institution that has the duty and function to seek, promote and foster the potential of the students. Various factors affect the quality of education among which is the curriculum, instructional media, learning and other methods can also give effect to student interest. Students' interest often affect student learning outcomes, with interest in learning the low is likely to produce learning outcomes that are not optimal, in addition to the above lack of student interest is also influenced by the learning method that teachers are still using a system of conventional teaching by means lecture. The results of observations at one junior high school students to the data values are still many students who get low marks, especially in science subjects. This is caused by boredom experienced by the students of the atmosphere in the classroom, as well as the delivery of content media pembelajaan unattractive and difficult to be understood by the students. So in need of a new system that can support teaching and learning activities, one of which is interactive learning with intelligent agent-based animation. Abstract
 The background of this research is to know how the e-learning system in the teaching and learning system at the public high school level, because the Covid 19 pandemic still allows us to learn online at home, with the e-learning system, the learning system can be very effective. remotely, because this research this time will discuss how a good system is applied to the learning process with an e-learning system. The method used in this research is to use the literature review method by referring to previously published books and journals, with the existence of books and journals that discuss this research before, it is certain that this research will produce the latest research and can become the basis for future research. . There are many remote learning method systems during the Covid 19 pandemic, with this remote learning system, the spread of the Corona virus will be greatly reduced, because students do not meet in person and cannot spread directly through physical contact, with the distance learning method. the teaching and learning system continues even though the Covid 19 pandemic spreads. In this research, we will produce a system proposal that will be the basis for the development of distance teaching and learning methods, using e-learning media at an educational level, namely public high schools with a proposed system, so it can be the best suggestion in the future. thiscovid 19 pandemic.

هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى معرفة اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو دور نظام التعلم عن بعد في تدريس مادة اللغة العربية لطلبة مدارس التعليم الخاص الأجنبية خلال أزمة کورونا في دولة الکويت ومعيقات ذلک في ضوء بعض المتغيرات. ولتحقيق الأهداف طورت الباحثة استبانه من (27) فقرة، وتم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها، وشملت عينة الدراسة على (273) ولي أمر، وأشارت النتائج إلى أن اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو دور نظام التعلم عن بعد في تدريس مادة اللغة العربية لطلبة مدارس التعليم الخاص الأجنبية خلال أزمة کورونا جاءت متوسطة، کما أظهرت وجود عدة معيقات تواجه أولياء الأمور عند استخدامهم لنظام التعليم عن بعد بدرجة متوسطة، کما أظهرت وجود فروق ذات دلالة احصائية بين اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو دور نظام التعلم عن بعد في تدريس مادة اللغة العربية تبعا لمتغير صلة القرابة لصالح الأمهات، وعدم وجود فروق داله احصائيا تبعا لمتغيرات: المستوى التعليمي، والمرحلة التي يدرس فيها الأبناء، وعدد الأبناء الذين يتلقون تعليم مدرسي عن بعد. الکلمات المفتاحية: اتجاهات، معيقات، التعلم عن بعد، اللغة العربية، أزمة کورونا، دولة الکويت. Abstract: This study aimed to identify parents' attitudes towards the role of the distance learning system in teaching Arabic to foreign private school students during the Corona crisis in the state of Kuwait in light of some variables; to achieve this, The researcher developed a questionnaire include (27) items, which were verified for their validity and reliability; The sample included (273) parents', The results showed that parents' attitudes towards the role of the distance learning system in teaching Arabic to foreign private school students during the Corona crisis in light of some variables, were moderate. It also showed the existence of some obstacles that parents facing when using distance learning systems in Arabic language teaching, which was a moderate degree. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between parents' attitudes towards the role of the distance learning system in teaching Arabic language according to the variable of kinship relations in favor of mothers, and that there are no statistically significant differences based on variables: the level of education, the stage where the children study, and the number of children receiving distance schooling.
