Knowledge management system design method with joint application design (JAD) adoption

Information in organizations needs to be managed to gain a competitive advantage in competitions. E-commerce, one of the most prominent industries in Indonesia, has dynamic market conditions that frequently change requirements and recent layoffs, which can harm the companies if not correctly managed. Knowledge and information usually stored in a knowledge management system (KMS) are essential to negate this, and Agile software development methodologies can manage frequent requirement changes. However, a study about KMS's success in Agile teams, primarily e-commerce, needs to be conducted to know if KMS can help companies sustain their business in Indonesia. This research analyses the KMS success in Indonesia's e-commerce companies that use Agile as their software development methodologies. This study used a quantitative approach with 31 respondents who worked or previously worked in an e-commerce company in Indonesia, using Agile as software development methodologies and experienced using KMS daily. Data was processed and analyzed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and SmartPLS tools. The results of this study indicate that KMS net benefits in Agile teams in E-commerce in Indonesia are influenced by the user's intentions to use and user satisfaction when using the KMS.

지식관리시스템(KMS)이 조직 내에서 확산되게 됨에 따라 효과적 활용방안에 대한 관심도 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연구조직을 대상으로 시스템 지식 품질, 조직지원, 개인특성이 KMS의 성공에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구를 시행하였다. 실증연구의 결과는 시스템 사용, 사용자 만족, 유용성 지각 등으로 측정된 KMS의 성공에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수로는 KMS의 시스템 품질(system quality)인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 시스템의 사용자들이 유용성을 인식하고 만족스럽게 사용하기 위해서는 시스템이 사용자들에게 편리하게 활용할 수 있도록 잘 설계되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이다. 또한 KMS성공요인들 중에는 사용자 만족과 유용성 지각이 시스템 사용의 선행요인이라는 것도 밝혀지고 있다. 끝으로 사용자의 개인적 요인인 조직기반 자기존중감이 독립변수인 영향요인과 종속변수인 KMS의 성공 간에 조절역할을 하는 것도 구명되고 있다. 이 연구는 연구조직에서는 지식관리시스템의 활용빈도를 높이기 위해서는 시스템의 사용이 연구자 친화적으로 설계, 운용되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이라는 시사점을 주고 있다. This research aims at investigating the factors determining the success of knowledge management system(KMS) in research organizations. Based on the literature survey and the general framework of IS success model, a new comprehensive model which is customized to the context of KMS is proposed. Some organizational support factors and an individual personality variable that moderates the relationship between predictors and the success factors are also integrated to the new model. A proposed model was tested by the technique of structural equation modeling using survey data from the employees in research organization. The results revealed that KMS quality had the strongest impact on the KMS success measured by perceived usefulness and user satisfaction and KMS use. The moderating effect of an individual personality factor, organization-based self esteem is also founded in the research.

Electronic Medical Records is an information system technology that is very important to support the quality of service. Ngemplak Boyolali Health Center has implemented RME on June 14, 2023. To determine the level of success in implementing RME, a user analysis is carried out to determine the level of end user satisfaction using the EUCS method. This study aims to determine user satisfaction with electronic medical records in the outpatient unit at the Ngemplak Boyolali Health Center. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the research on the content aspect of RME are in accordance with user needs. In the accuracy aspect, RME has provided fairly accurate information. In the aspect of appearance (format) RME is very easy for users to use. In the aspect of ease of use, users find it easy to operate RME. In the timeliness aspect, the information provided by RME to users is very timely. At the user satisfaction level, users feel quite satisfied with the performance provided and the features provided by RME. In the man factor, user knowledge is good and RME is quite in accordance with user expectations. In the mechine factor, the internet network is stable, maintenance of infrastructure facilities is carried out regularly and the performance provided by the computer is fast enough. In the material factor, the hardware used is in accordance with user needs.

Academic Information System is a system that collects and processes data into useful information for users. This research aims to determine the level of user satisfaction of Web-Based Academic Information Systems at Al-Kamal Institute of Science and Technology. The research model uses quantitative by using a descriptive approach. The measuring of user satisfaction uses an End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method. The variables in this research are accuracy, content, format, timeliness, and ease of use. Data collection uses a questionnaire by 12 questions with the sum of data samples are 135 respondents. The results show that the overall level of user satisfaction averaged 2.99 at level 3 (neutral). The variables considered good are timeliness and ease of use, while for content, format, and accuracy still need improvement and redevelopment. The results of this research can be used as an evaluation material to develop the academic information systems in the future.

BackgroundStressful situations during intraoperative emergencies have negative impact on human cognitive functions. Consequently, task performance may decrease and patient safety may be compromised. Cognitive aids can counteract these effects and support anesthesiologists in their crisis management. The Professional Association of German Anesthesiologists set up a project to develop a comprehensive set of digital cognitive aids for intraoperative emergencies. A parallel development for several software platforms and stationary and mobile devices will accommodate the inhomogeneity of the information technology infrastructure within German anesthesia departments.ObjectiveThis paper aimed to provide a detailed overview of how the task of developing a digital cognitive aid for intraoperative crisis management in anesthesia was addressed that meets user requirements and is highly user-friendly.MethodsA user-centered design (UCD) process was conducted to identify, specify, and supplement the requirements for a digital cognitive aid. The study covered 4 aspects: analysis of the context of use, specification of user requirements, development of design solutions, and evaluation of design solutions. Three prototypes were developed and evaluated by end users of the application. Following each evaluation, the new requirements were prioritized and used for redesign. For the first and third prototype, the System Usability Scale (SUS) score was determined. The second prototype was evaluated with an extensive Web-based questionnaire. The evaluation of the third prototype included a think-aloud protocol.ResultsThe chosen methods enabled a comprehensive collection of requirements and helped to improve the design of the application. The first prototype achieved an average SUS score of 74 (SD 12), indicating good usability. The second prototype included the following main revisions: 2-column layout, initial selection of patient type (infant, adult, or parturient), 4 offered search options, and the option to check off completed action steps. Its evaluation identified the following major revision points: add quick selection for resuscitation checklists, design the top bar and tabs slightly larger, and add more pictograms to the text. The third prototype achieved an average SUS score of 77 (SD 15). The evaluation of the think-aloud protocol revealed a good intuitiveness of the application and identified a missing home button as the main issue.ConclusionsAnesthesiology—as an acute medical field—is particularly characterized by its high demands on decision making and action in dynamic, or time-critical situations. The integration of usability aspects is essential for everyday and emergency suitability. The UCD process allowed us to develop a prototypical digital cognitive aid, exhibiting high usability and user satisfaction in the demanding environment of anesthesiological emergencies. Both aspects are essential to increase the acceptance of the application in later stages. The study approach, combining different methods for determining user requirements, may be useful for other implementation projects in a highly demanding environment.

Elearning is the implementation of information technology in learning. Elearning was used in courses in Introduction to Business and Management, Business Process Management and Ebusiness. This study aims to use the Technology Acceptance model (TAM) to measure the level of user satisfaction. TAM method is used to determine the relationship between content, accuracy, format, ease of use, timelines, organizational support, user attitudes towards the information system (user attitude towards information). system) and perceived attitude of top management on the level of satisfaction of using e-learning on learning business courses and management at the Faculty of Computer Science, Duta Bangsa University Surakarta. This research is a descriptive study using the modified End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) approach method. The results of the evaluation study show that the 5 variables (content), the level of accuracy of the system, format, easy of use, and timeliness significantly influence user satisfaction. While organizational support variables have a significant effect on user satifaction but variable usser attitude toward information system and perceived attitude of top management has an effect but not significant to the support organization.

The Study of Students’ Opinions on the Knowledge Management System to Support Online Instruction for Self-directed Learning

HSS Learning is a learning media innovation in the form of a gamification-based e-learning platform to support the learning process in programming. HSS Learning has been applied to web design and programming courses, primarily on HTML and CSS topics. This study uses a quantitative model using a descriptive approach to measure the satisfaction level of HSS Learning users—measurement of user satisfaction using End-user Computing Satisfaction (EUCS). The variables used in this research are content, format, ease of use, timeliness, and accuracy. Data collection used a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions, with the number of participant data being 264 participants. The results show that the overall level of user satisfaction reaches 4.30 at level 5 (very strong). The results of this study can be used as a material evaluation for the application of instructional media in the programming field.

Rapid advances in technology, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT), are enabling the development of devices and robots that can be operated remotely. This research explores the effects of APILASTIK Quality Check Robot Appearance and Features on User Satisfaction Level. This tool, developed by Computer Engineering Technology students at IPB University's Vocational School, aims to detect defects in production products. The robot attracted great attention when it was presented at IT FEST 2023, showing the potential for wide use. Evaluations of the robot's appearance and features showed a positive and significant influence on the level of user satisfaction, with each variable contributing 66.4% and 25.4%, respectively. Hypothesis testing confirmed the overall positive and significant impact, with the coefficient of determination (R2) reaching 82.7%. The results of multiple linear regression analysis and t-test show that the robot's appearance and features individually contribute significantly to user satisfaction. With these findings, we can understand the factors that influence user satisfaction with damage-scanning robots. The recommendation is to focus on feature development or appearance enhancement to improve overall user satisfaction.

Aim: This research aim is to determine the level of user satisfaction using the Delone and Mclean models obtained from the implementation of the content-based filtering method in the anime recommendation system. Study Design: This study was designed with Delone and Mclean and with a Content-based Filtering method and web-scrapping to build an anime recommendation system. Place and Duration of Study: Department of Informatic Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, between July 2022 and December 2022. Methodology: The initial step in this research was collecting data using web scrapping and questionnaires, then followed by a literature study, and after that continued with system design and application development. After the application is made the next step is to get the level of user satisfaction with Delone and Mclean, and the final step is writing a report from this research. Results: The design and development of a system by implementing a content-based filtering method to the website-based have been successfully created, and the results of calculating the level of user satisfaction calculated from 43 respondents using the Delone and Mclean methods show, an anime recommendation system with content-based filtering methods has good result with a user satisfaction percentage of 74.23%. Conclusion: The anime system recommendation application has been successfully made and the results of user satisfaction are 74.23%.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the education sector has been able to provide assistance for the continuation of the learning process through e-Learning services. E-Learning is an online-based learning and teaching process that utilizes information technology services. E-Learning is specially designed by the institution and integrated with academic progress data to offer the best support to students who have become increasingly familiar with information technology during the pandemic, addressing its limitations. The objective of this research is to measure user satisfaction with the e-Learning service using the PIECES framework. The PIECES framework consists of Performance, Information/data, Control/security, Efficiency, and Service categories. The PIECES framework is employed for analyzing the information system and consists of six variables: performance, information, economic, control, efficiency, and services. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 368 students from different graduation years, spanning from 2018 to 2021, who are users of the e-Learning service. Based on the gathered data analysis, the average satisfaction levels for each variable are as follows: performance scored 3.75, information scored 3.82, economic scored 3.84, control scored 3.74, efficiency scored 3.7, and services scored 3.84. Combining these values and referencing Kaplan and Norton, it can be concluded that the overall user satisfaction level with e-Learning falls into the satisfied category

SinegesJuara is an attendance application developed to provide real-time student attendance monitoring, allowing students to access and record their school attendance flexibly. Despite its popularity, SinegesJuara faces user challenges that have prompted researchers to investigate user satisfaction levels. This research analyzed user satisfaction factors by combining the TAM and EUCS methods, aiming to understand user satisfaction with the application. The research utilized the Slovin formula to determine a minimum sample size of 91 participants. Data analysis was conducted using the SEM-PLS approach with SmartPLS 3.2.9 software. The research findings indicate that the user satisfaction level with the SinegesJuara application is 78.77%, falling into the "Satisfied" category. This demonstrates that SinegesJuara fulfills its objectives, leading to user satisfaction. The results of the TAM method show that the Perceived Usefulness variable obtained a t-statistic value of 2.081, and the Attitude Toward Using variable obtained a t-statistic value of 7.877. Similarly, with the EUCS method, the Format variable obtained a t-statistic value of 2.445. As a result, it can be concluded that these three hypotheses significantly influence user satisfaction with the SinegesJuara application. In comparison, the other five hypotheses are rejected because they do not have a significant impact.

Of growing interest in the area of improving the search experience is the collection of implicit user behavior measures (implicit measures) as indications of user interest and user satisfaction. Rather than having to submit explicit user feedback, which can be costly in time and resources and alter the pattern of use within the search experience, some research has explored the collection of implicit measures as an efficient and useful alternative to collecting explicit measure of interest from users.This research article describes a recent study with two main objectives. The first was to test whether there is an association between explicit ratings of user satisfaction and implicit measures of user interest. The second was to understand what implicit measures were most strongly associated with user satisfaction. The domain of interest was Web search. We developed an instrumented browser to collect a variety of measures of user activity and also to ask for explicit judgments of the relevance of individual pages visited and entire search sessions. The data was collected in a workplace setting to improve the generalizability of the results.Results were analyzed using traditional methods (e.g., Bayesian modeling and decision trees) as well as a new usage behavior pattern analysis (“gene analysis”). We found that there was an association between implicit measures of user activity and the user's explicit satisfaction ratings. The best models for individual pages combined clickthrough, time spent on the search result page, and how a user exited a result or ended a search session (exit type/end action). Behavioral patterns (through the gene analysis) can also be used to predict user satisfaction for search sessions.

The city government has introduced an initiative to use electric buses as a cleaner and more sustainable alternative. The success of a public transportation system is not only determined by the availability of fleet and infrastructure, but also by the level of user satisfaction. User satisfaction is an important indicator that reflects the extent to which the service meets users' expectations and needs. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence user satisfaction, as well as the ability to predict and manage them, is key in improving the quality of public transportation services, including usage. In an effort to understand and improve trolleybus user satisfaction in Medan City, an adequate predictive analysis approach is required. By using methods such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naïve Bayes, we can develop predictive models that can identify patterns and trends in user data, thus enabling relevant parties to take appropriate actions to improve services. In this context, the comparison between SVM and Naïve Bayes methods will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of each method in predicting the satisfaction of electric bus users in Medan City. Based on the comparison results, the Naive Bayes algorithm shows slightly better performance compared to the Support Vector Machine in this sentiment analysis. The accuracy value generated by applying the Naive Bayes method is 58%, while applying the Support Vector Machine method is 57%. Nonetheless, both algorithms provide valuable insights into the sentiment of Medan people towards Electric Buses.

Despite the number of studies conducted on users’ satisfaction with library services, only a handful of reports was able to assess the level of users’ satisfaction with library electronic services. The review showed that previous studies measured the quality of services rendered by the federal university libraries with just a question or an extract from the ServQual instrument without proper application of the ServQual model. Identification of determinants of library users' satisfaction needs an in-depth investigation using different methods before librarians can work towards improving those identified factors for maximum utilization of library resources and services. This present study used the ServQual model for determining users' satisfaction with electronic resources and services provided in six federal university libraries. The instruments used for data collection were descriptive surveys, focus groups, observation, and interview designs. This study applied a multistage sampling technique to arrive at the 733 sample size that represented the registered postgraduate users for the selected federal university libraries from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. Structural Equation Model and SPSS were used to analyze data collected from the respondents, it was found that the federal university libraries provided minimal (acceptable) electronic services with a beta coefficient of (β=0.66**) which showed a significant level of user satisfaction with electronic services. Determinants of users’ satisfaction were a conducive environment; good Internet connection; constant power supply; adequate computer systems; use of laptops either personal or loan; longer operating hours; remote access to eResources; adequate security measures, availability and accessibility of electronic resources, currency and adequacy of electronic resources. The study concluded that users were moderately satisfied with library services provision but libraries need to improve the quality of resources quality of services provided in the various universities. This paper recommended that, the library environment must be conducive to learning; good Internet connection is provided and sustained; have power backups; provide adequate computer systems; allow users to bring in their laptops to the library; increase their operation hours; provide remote access to e-resources; re-work the security systems and subscribe to numerous electronic resources to optimally satisfied users.
