On the complementarity of environmental space design and visual communication design

In order to create more attractive graffiti works, the Internet of Things technology is used to collect people’s preference information data, and then cloud computing and big data analysis are applied to calculate and analyze the data, so as to get more design elements in line with people’s preferences, providing more material for the creators of graffiti art and facilitating their further creation of graffiti. In recent years, graffiti art, as a kind of postmodern marginal cultural art, has great expressiveness and creativity, which makes graffiti art widely used. Particularly in visual communication design, graffiti art has more characteristics and is deeply loved by the people. With the continuous development of science and technology, Internet of Things technology and cloud computing have acquired more information for many fields, thus assisting the field to complete deeper analysis and research. However, there are few applications in the field of graffiti art. Therefore, this paper combines cloud computing and Internet of Things to obtain more visual communication design elements to provide material for the creator, which is conductive for their continuing creation.

With the progress of the times and the development of society, big data technology has initially covered all areas of society, which has brought great help to people's lives and enterprise innovation. In the era of big data, computer technology is one of the simplest, most widely used and most frequently used technologies. With the improvement of people's quality of life and aesthetic standards, traditional image design and visual communication can no longer meet people's aesthetic standards. Therefore, relevant design enterprises have introduced computer technology into the system of graphic image design and visual communication design, in order to innovate image design and improve visual communication quality. According to the quality and aesthetic problems existing in current graphic image design and visual communication design, this paper analyzes the concepts and functions of computer graphic image design and visual communication design, and then summarizes the system composition of computer graphic image design and visual communication design, so as to reflect the powerful functions of computer graphic image design and visual communication design system. With the rapid development of digital media technology, digital media context emerges as the times require. Visual communication design also presents language features, aesthetic features and communication features, which have a great impact on visual communication design to a certain extent. However, based on the analysis of the actual situation, visual communication design is still in the situation of challenges and opportunities. Based on this, this paper studies the multiple characteristics of visual communication design in digital media environment. This paper expounds the main characteristics of visual communication design, and analyzes the changes of visual communication design performance in the digital media era. It also discusses the influence of digital media era on visual communication design from three dimensions: changing the form of information dissemination, promoting the development of multidimensional design and realizing virtual design. Finally, the paper compares the visual communication design based on digital media environment with the traditional visual communication design method, aiming to provide reference for the digital development of visual communication design. Research shows that visual communication design can reflect the characteristics of digital media era, break through the limitations of time and space, and bring more aesthetic experience to people. It is worth noting that on the basis of the visual impact brought by digital media technology, it is necessary to alleviate the contradiction between the progress of the times and the development of visual communication design.

With the continuous development of digitalization and informatization in the 21st century, we have ushered in the big data era. The advent of the big data era has brought about subversive changes in many fields. With the tide of the big data era, how visual communication design can more accurately and intuitively convey the information content to be expressed and can stand out among many visual communication media is the concern of every designer. Only when visual communication design is creative can the information receiver be impressed with the visual design content, so creative thinking is particularly important in visual communication design. This paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced by visual communication design under big data environment in detail, and puts forward several strategies for developing creative thinking in visual communication design according to the current situation.

The purpose of this study was to develop an instructional project of international education issue integrating into Art and Humanist Learning Area. The researcher as a visual arts teacher, had adopted action research approach and taught visual arts including the design of the national flags and the national emblem of five Olympic host countries, as well as the introduction of the mascots as a theme. The research object was 41 sixth grade students from a private elementary school in a metropolitan city of northern Taiwan. Learning activities are designed for 20 40-minute sessions. By collecting and analyzing the data such as students’ international knowledge test, visual communication design ability assessment, classroom observation records, learning feedback sheets and teaching reflection notes, the researcher is able to explore the teaching and learning effectiveness of international education issue integrated into Art and Humanist Learning Area. In order to introduce the history, culture, people and background of Olympic host countries, their national flags, national emblems and mascots are presented, to guide students to gain more interests and knowledge in these countries’ culture, and to develop their international view. By learning the history and culture of Taiwan and Taipei, all aspects of elements of design, students were encouraged to design the mascot of 2017 Universiade. The study findings are summarized in the following conclusions: 1. The development of “Designing the mascot of Universiade” instructional project was based on four foundations such as “White Paper on International Education of primary and secondary schools in Taiwan.” 2. After the instructional project, students improved significantly on the international knowledge and visual communication design ability. 3. The researcher grew professionally on four things such as her improvement of the knowledge of five countries. She also had six reflections such as international education issue could be integrated into Art and Humanist Learning Area. Based on the above conclusions, the researcher has made five recommendations for teachers, such as when deciding the instructional theme, teachers could consider students’ needs, students’ interests, emerging issues and current affairs. The researcher also made one recommendation to future researchers, i.e., integrating teaching strategies and developing the media for international education.

The role of the letter is very important for the human need to communicate visually, not only represents the world of communication, but also the aesthetic tervisual art in any media that could dihampirinya, so that in this limit development efforts must be done, particularly in context of the development of the local characters who turn out to have a very beautiful aesthetic side of diverse forms. Aims To enhance the teaching quality in the field of visual communication design and make students to improve in all aspects of moral, intellectual and physical development, strengthen their ideological education, improve their ideological quality and strengthen their understanding of visual communication design art. Methods By using mathematical methods to construct models, and making appropriate selection of the literature method, practical teaching method and investigation method, the author made a comprehensive study on the artistic problems in art teaching from the aspects of definition, function, characteristics and students’ ideological quality, and discusses potential solutions. Results It had a positive effect on teachers and on their teaching methods, so that they have a better understanding of their teaching work, to motivate themselves towards their goals, make the classroom teaching vivid and improve the teaching efficiency. Conclusion The art of teaching visual communication has a close relationship with the strength and quality of people's thoughts; so, we must strengthen the artistic quality of visual communication design education, to improve students’ ideological quality and the art of teaching visual communication design. In our model, the motivation of teachers to create and sustain interest in students studying visual communication design is stronger when the imagination of ideological content is broad, and when the artistry is positive for right triangle and thoughtful for backward right triangle. The construction of the model is like a regular triangle and an inverted triangle combined to form a regular rectangle mathematical model. It will make visual communication design teaching like Mona Lisa so that people linger.

Enrollments in online courses continue to grow. With this growth has come an increased need for instructors to develop content for their courses using digital technology. To address instructors’ abilities to develop content for a virtual environment, institutions have focused on the most effective and efficient ways to design online courses and programs. However, despite increased focus on the instructional design of online courses, little attention has been given to their visual design. This is problematic because research suggests that the visual design of online courses can improve the student learning experience. Given this problem, additional research is needed to understand the visual design of online courses, including page layout design and the integration of visual media. Three different studies were conducted to address this problem (a.) Study 1 is a literature review that synthesizes the relevant topics in visual communication design to online course development. The study addressed the mechanics of visual design but also external factors that influence visual design thinking. In this chapter, the authors seek to clarify the process of using visual design to improve the online learning experience. The chapter concludes by suggesting strategies that colleges and universities can use to help faculty and instructional designers learn visual design skills through the creation of a design studio. (b.) Study 2 is an exploratory qualitative study that investigates the ways in which educators in higher education apply visual design to their online courses through the design process framework of looking, thinking, doing, and critiquing (LTD+C). Semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore instructor’s use of a visual design process, application of visual design thinking, and perceived barriers in designing online classrooms. Based on the findings of the study, it is suggested that the visual design process in online courses can fit within the LTD+C framework and activities associated with each part of the process should be further explored. (c.) Study 3 is a qualitative content analysis of images used in online courses. The study examined the current use of images in higher-education online classrooms along with the ability of instructors to create, select, and apply images to an online classroom learning management system by exploring well-known frameworks of image taxonomy in online classrooms. Based on the findings of this study it is suggested that the current framework of educational image taxonomy can be elaborated upon and that instructors need better training in appropriately handling using images in online classrooms. The general conclusion promoted in this dissertation is that visual design needs more emphasis within the field of education from both practical applications and research-based studies.

With the continuous development of our country’s modernisation process and the continuous development of education, the education of design talents is getting more and more attention from people, the era of design as a “secondary subject” in schools has ended, modern people have recognised that the world of design is a world of infinite wonders, and that some design experience is an indispensable element for enriching people’s lives, and design is related to the deepest things in human nature. Design is closely related to the deepest part of human nature. As an important part of the design field, visual communication design is not only an education of design techniques as traditionally believed, but also a complex systematic project to develop wisdom. It is not possible to improve one’s design quality with only a little bit of technique. In addition to mastering design technique, we must also be familiar with the development history of design and its development prospect, have the ability to appreciate design and have insight into design, and fully explore one’s own visual thinking, so as to make one’s own design thinking more active. Visual thinking is a novel concept. This ability is inherent in us, and for designers of visual communication design, the cultivation of visual thinking should be richer and more diversified. But to engage in design through this ability requires special training.

This research examines using visual communication design as a medium for da’wah which is analyzed using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis on the contents of the punk hijrah community’s Instagram account @punkhijrah. Entering the development of communication and information technology in the current digital era, visual communication design has become an important platform for communicating da’wah messages visually. @punkhijrah is one of the many Instagram accounts that uses visual communication design to publish creative and innovative content. Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method is used to examine visual communication design in the form of symbols and meanings contained in posts on the Instagram account @punkhijrah. This research was conducted to find out and interpret the meaning of the visual communication design used by @punkhijrah as a propaganda medium with a qualitative approach, then analyzed using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method to examine signs as a whole, both regarding content and meaning, seen from three elements, namely typography, illustration, and color. The results of this research show that the visual communication design as a da’wah medium used by @punkhijrah shows that the meaning and understanding of the signs in the content has meaning and an appeal to the public or readers to continuously Istiqomah do good, become a better person, more becomes more vocal about current religious issues, and stay away from evil.

In today’s world, visual competence plays an increasingly important role. Proficiency in visual literacy is an essential competency in various fields, including marketing, design, education, and journalism. The competency to convey messages effectively, attract audiences, and promote engagement is crucial for success in these industries. At the university level, visual literacy is an essential competency for university students studying visual communication. A lack of sufficient visual literacy leads to several key challenges. Research indicates that most university students in China do not have sufficient visual literacy competencies. However, there has been a dearth of scholarly inquiry looking specifically into the visual literacy competency standards of students studying visual communication design in China despite its close association with visual literacy. The study aimed to evaluate the visual literacy competency of students majoring in visual communication design in Shanghai, China, through interviews. The interview questions utilised in this study were developed based on four visual literacy standards created by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). This study includes the competencies to determine visual materials needed, efficient image retrieval, interpret visual materials’ meanings, and evaluate image credibility when performing visual artworks. The study’s results indicate that students face difficulties in analysing and evaluating images due to their limited exploration of images related information, background, technology, and design elements. Consequently, they encounter challenges such as an inability to distinguish authenticity and judge reliability. These findings are valuable for the curriculum development of students majoring in visual communication design.

The result of a cognitive process, a symbol is a type of channel for visual communication. For complicated thinking behaviors, designers concretize and visualize abstract concepts. Visual design is one of the major elements in the formation and construction of meaning. Cognition is the key to constructing the communication of a message (symbolic design). For visual designers, communication and the visual cognition thereof are the ultimate goals. Designers need not only seek unique expression of visual beauty but also achieve an organic goal in visual communication, wherein, as a result, symbolic communication and cognition are required to reduce the cognitive noise in the process. The Swiss linguist Saussure has stated that ”symbols are combined with the signifier and the signified” to explain that symbols consist of the combination of formation and concept. He also discussed an arbitrary concept of symbols to illustrate the interaction between meanings and formation. By using concrete surface features transferred to abstract meaning to design cognitive procedures for symbolic design, an operational model of symbolic and cognitive design is explored. The purpose of this study was to understand the cognition and transference utilized by designers in the process of symbolic formation of meanings. On the basis of semiotics and cognitive psychology, a set of systemized-design operational methods was arranged and a study of designers' ”meaning” and ”formation” in symbolic design applied to the basic structure of visual cognition. The basic structure of both visual cognition and the creation of visual design procedures was used to explore the structural relationships among visual symbol formation, meanings and cognition.

With the continuous development of China’s social economy, the competitiveness of brand market is gradually increasing. In order to improve their own level in brand building, major enterprises gradually explore and study visual communication design. Brand visual design has also received more and more attention. Building a complete and rich visual design system can improve the brand level and attract users to consume. Based on the abovementioned situation, this paper proposes to use collaborative filtering algorithm to analyze and study brand visual design. Firstly, a solution is proposed to solve the problem of low accuracy of general recommendation algorithm in brand goods. Collaborative filtering algorithm is used to analyze the visual communication design process of enterprise brand. Research on personalized image design according to consumers’ trust and recognition of brand design is conducted. In traditional craft brand visual design, we mainly study the impact of image design on consumer behavior. The brand loyalty model is used to predict and analyze the visual design effect. Also, the user’s evaluation coefficient is taken as the expression of brand visual design recognition. Finally, the collaborative filtering algorithm is optimized to improve the consumer similarity based on the original algorithm. The results show that the brand visual design using collaborative filtering algorithm can help enterprises obtain greater benefits in their own brand construction. It provides effective data help in the development of traditional craft brands.

This paper delves into the application of colour psychology in visual communication design.As an art form that conveys information and emotions through visual elements, visual communication design, colour plays a crucial role in it.As a discipline that studies the relationship between colour and human psychology and behaviour, colour psychology provides an important theoretical basis and practical guidance for visual communication design.This paper outlines the basic principles of colour psychology, analyses in detail the specific application of colour psychology in visual communication design, and also discusses the application of colour psychology in cross-cultural design.Through a series of case studies and empirical research, this paper further validates the effectiveness of colour psychology in visual communication design.These cases cover a wide range of industries and fields, and fully demonstrate the important role of colour psychology in enhancing the attractiveness of design works, strengthening the efficiency of information communication and shaping brand image.The research in this paper not only provides new perspectives and ideas for visual communication design, but also provides useful references and lessons for designers in their practical work.In the future, with the deepening of colour psychology research and the continuous development of visual communication design, the application of colour psychology in visual communication design will be more extensive and in-depth.

With the rapid development of the times, new tools are constantly appearing in visual communication design, such as the use of graphic creativity in visual communication. With this as a starting point, this paper introduces the MOEA/D algorithm, which decomposes the MOP problem into a series of subproblems to be solved by decomposition techniques, using weight vectors to obtain the neighbors of each subproblem, followed by calculating the neighbor subproblems, dividing the individuals into segments, and obtaining the child individuals. Finally, the fitness of each offspring individual was calculated and cut to give the final level of each factor. Finally, the strategy of using graphic creativity in visual communication design in the context of Internet+ is calculated from the MOEA/D algorithm. The experimental results showed that by means of multiple control groups, the experimental group achieved a 30% correct rate for Q3 and Q9 quiz questions, and the experimental group had a significantly greater correct rate than the control group. Therefore, more design concepts and design thinking can be explored through the study and analysis of graphic creativity to help the use of graphic creativity in the work of visual communication design.
