While the potential benefits of Big Data adoption are significant, and some initial successes have already been realized, there remain many research and technical challenges that must be addressed to fully realize this potential. The Big Data processing, storage and analytics, of course, are major challenges that are most easily recognized. However, there are additional challenges related for instance to Big Data collection, integration, and quality enforcement. This paper proposes a hybrid approach to Big Data quality evaluation across the Big Data value chain. It consists of assessing first the quality of Big Data itself, which involve processes such as cleansing, filtering and approximation. Then, assessing the quality of process handling this Big Data, which involve for example processing and analytics process. We conduct a set of experiments to evaluate Quality of Data prior and after its pre-processing, and the Quality of the pre-processing and processing on a large dataset. Quality metrics have been measured to access three Big Data quality dimensions: accuracy, completeness, and consistency. The results proved that combination of data-driven and process-driven quality evaluation lead to improved quality enforcement across the Big Data value chain. Hence, we recorded high prediction accuracy and low processing time after we evaluate 6 well-known classification algorithms as part of processing and analytics phase of Big Data value chain.

Cloud computing and big data are the two important technology innovations which have the potential to restructure the value chain of telecom service providers. Apart from total cost saving, there are many operational and business objectives while adopting cloud computing technology into the telecom domain. Telecom service providers typically have terabytes of operational data available. When effectively analyzed, this information can help them to maintain consistent and appropriate service delivery across the seasonal peaks and valleys. Big data analytics offer telecom operators a real opportunity to gain a broad image of their day to day operations, customers, and more over organizations and innovative efforts to be taken. In this research paper we identify and list the key factors affecting the operational performance of a telecom contact center and the potential role of big data analytics and provenance in overcoming the performance bottlenecks. We present a case study evaluating how telecom companies can employ big data analytics in inbound and outbound contact centers for enhancement of operational performance. Results indicate that, despite of many challenges including lack of well-defined big data processing strategies, potential security threats and the need for workforce re-skilling, the use of opportunities of Big Data analytics in telecom domain is unprecedented.

A USAF sponsored MITRE research team undertook four separate, domain-specific case studies about Big Data applications. Those case studies were initial investigations into the question of whether or not data quality issues encountered in Big Data collections are substantially different in cause, manifestation, or detection than those data quality issues encountered in more traditionally sized data collections. The study addresses several factors affecting Big Data Quality at multiple levels, including collection, processing, and storage. Though not unexpected, the key findings of this study reinforce that the primary factors affecting Big Data reside in the limitations and complexities involved with handling Big Data while maintaining its integrity. These concerns are of a higher magnitude than the provenance of the data, the processing, and the tools used to prepare, manipulate, and store the data. Data quality is extremely important for all data analytics problems. From the study's findings, the "truth about Big Data" is there are no fundamentally new DQ issues in Big Data analytics projects. Some DQ issues exhibit return-s-to-scale effects, and become more or less pronounced in Big Data analytics, though. Big Data Quality varies from one type of Big Data to another and from one Big Data technology to another.

The first keynote speech entitled ‘Current and future trends of advanced manufacturing technologies’ was delivered by Prof. Emeritus Andrew Nee from Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. The second keynote speech titled ‘Opportunities and Challenges in The Implementation of Industry 4.0’ was presented by Mr. Andreas Foerster, general manager of BBS Automation Penang Sdn. Bhd., while the third keynote speech titled ‘Industry 4.X Implementation: A Journey of 1000 Miles Begins with a Single Step’ was presented by Mr. Abram Ziegelaar, Vice-President (Digital Transformation Office), B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd., Penang. The conference was sponsored jointly by Western Digital as a gold sponsor and Vitrox Technologies as a silver sponsor. The co-sponsors were Micro-Modular Systems Sdn. Bhd. and Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. The collaborators in the conference were University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Malacca (UTeM) and Institution of Malaysia (IEM), Penang Branch.An exhibition event was also held concurrent with the conference. Two leading companies involved in providing automation and Industry 4.0 solutions, namely BBS Automation Sdn. Bhd. and Advantech Co. Sdn. Bhd. showcased their latest products and services to the conference delegates and visitors. A machine vision lighting specialist, TMS Lite Sdn. Bhd., offered LED lighting solutions to industrial automation and inspection applications and problems.Organizing an international conference for the first time is a challenging task. The 2020 International Conference on Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Mechanical Automation (IoTAIMA 2020) was held in Hangzhou, China at July 10-12, 2020. Although the impact of covid-19, most participants were still highly enthusiastic about participating in this conference. In order to comply with the control and prevention of the pandemic covid-19, IoTAIMA 2020 was adjusted to be held with combining online conference with offline conference to avoid crowd gathering and physical contact. About the offline conference, we held the opening ceremony in the meeting room of Relax Hotel through live video. Due to the impact of the epidemic and travel restrictions, more than 10 participants came to the venue, and the rest of the participants attended the conference via online collaboration tool, Zoom. IoTAIMA 2020 aimed to provided opportunities for the for experts and scholars in the field of Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Mechanical Automation to exchange new ideas and application experiences, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including keynote speeches, oral presentations and online Q&A discussion. In the keynote speeches session, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-40 minutes to hold their speeches. Addressing the policy challenges and opportunities of “Big data”

The 2022 2nd International Conference on Industrial Manufacturing and Structural Materials (IMSM 2022) was planned to be held on March 25-27, 2022 in Hangzhou, China. Due to the impact of COVID-19, many communities from all over the world were under strict health measures and strict travel restrictions, and participants of IMSM 2022 also meet with the difficulty of travel restrictions. According to the current epidemic prevention policy in Mainland China, our meeting was a virtual conference. IMSM is an annual conference which explored the development and implications in the related fields of Industrial Manufacturing and Structural Materials with an objective to present the novel and fundamental advancements. IMSM is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Industrial Manufacturing and Structural Materials to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities industrial manufacturing and structural materials and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. In the second part, we invited two professors as our keynote speakers. Prof. Quanxin Zhu, Hunan Normal University, China, performed a speech: Stability and event-triggered control of stochastic nonlinear delay systems. And then we had Prof. Kamal Z. ZAMLI, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge. The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Industrial Manufacturing Technology, Structural Materials and other related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of international publication standard. We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported IMSM 2022. The 2021 6th International Symposium on Energy Science and Chemical Engineering (ISESCE 2021) was held on January 22-24, 2021 as a virtual conference due to the growing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), and in order to protect the well-being of our attendees, partners, and staff as our number one priority. ISESCE 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of energy science and chemical engineering to a common forum. The present volume of the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Sciences participates in the 1st 2022 International Conference on Sustainable Environment, Development, and Energy (CONSER 2022) to be held in Sanur, Denpasar City, Bali, Indonesia on December 5 - 6, 2022. The conference with the theme of “Energy and Sustainable Environment” was organized by the Institut Teknologi Nasional Yogyakarta (ITNY), Indonesia and in cooperation with Naresuan University, Thailand and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Perak Branch, Malaysia as co-organizers.The CONSER 2022 is the first series of conferences that brings together researchers from all over the world to present and discuss the latest research, contribute to sustainable environment, technology and sustainable development and energy resources, and encourage more research cooperation. The will of the authorities, together with the important role of scientists in creating various opportunities is to strengthen the research culture and downstream research outputs, ultimately solving problems in industry and society.The conference technical program includes five keynote speakers, invited speakers, oral, and poster presentations. Session tracks included Urban Studies and Sustainable Environment, Climate Change and Geosciences, Technology and Development, Material Science and Energy. Artificial intelligence refers to the intelligence expressed by machines made by humans and is a manifestation of human intelligence. On the whole, artificial intelligence includes two aspects: “artificial” and “intelligence.” Artificial is created by man, and information work covers a number of areas, for instance thinking and consciousness. The process from feeling memory to thinking is called “wisdom.” The result of wisdom is behavior and language. The expression process of behavior and language is called “ability,” and the two are collectively called “intelligence.” However, there is no unified explanation for intelligence at present, but there is no doubt about the widespread. Big data processing includes multiple data processing processes, but data quality is the most important link in the entire process, and each data processing link will have an impact on the quality of big data. The big data processing process mainly includes data collection, data preprocessing, data storage, data processing and analysis, data display/data visualization, data application, and other links. The aim of this paper is to explore the studies on the development of intercultural intercommunication skills in English language learning and teaching in the context of artificial intelligence and big data. It is hoped that this will be done in the light of AI and big data technologies. We can explore the current situation of cross-cultural communication, provide new learning directions for cross-cultural communication, and promote cultural exchange and dissemination. This paper investigates students’ attitudes towards cross-cultural communication by means of a questionnaire and then briefly tests students’ cross-cultural communication ability. The experimental results of this paper show that 4 students have mastered cross-cultural knowledge, accounting for 3%; 8 students have mastered cross-cultural knowledge very well, accounting for 4%, and 9 students have mastered cross-cultural knowledge, accounting for 7%. There are 12 people who are very knowledgeable about cross-cultural knowledge, accounting for 9%. These data show that the current students have very little knowledge of intercultural communication, and their intercultural communication skills need to be improved.

The quality of big data could great impact the value extracted from the data. Automated filtering of noisy data from big data is an ideal approach for improving the quality of big data. However, due to large volume and variety of big data, automated filtering of noisy data from big data is a grand challenging task. In this paper, we propose a support vector machine based approach for automated classification of big data so that the noisy data are classified as separated categories from the regular data. In order to improve the classification accuracy and training performance, we design an experiment for improving the classification model through finding the optimized learning feature set and an approach for iteratively improving the quality of the training data set. We conducted a thorough experimental study of automated classification of massive image data of biology cells to explain the approach of automated selection of big data and demonstrate its effectiveness. Finally, we compare the performance of the SVM based classification and a deep learning based classification of the same data set. The proposed approach and experience collected from the experimental study can help big data researchers and practitioners to design strategies for improving the quality of big data, designing high performance classifier, and building tools for automated selection of big data.

Big Data is becoming a standard data model, and it is gaining wide adoption in the digital universe. Estimating the Quality of Big Data is recognized to be essential for data management and data governance. To ensure a fast and efficient data quality assessment represented by its dimensions, we need to extend the data profiling model to incorporate also quality profiling. The latter encompasses more value-added quality processes that go beyond data and its corresponding metadata. In this paper, we propose a Data Quality Profiling Model (BDQPM) for Big Data that involves several modules such as sampling, profiling, exploratory quality profiling, quality profile repository (QPREPO), and the data quality profile (DQP). Thus, the QPREPO plays an important role in managing many quality-related elements such as data quality dimensions and their related metrics, pre-defined quality actions scenarios, pre-processing activities (PPA), their related functions (PPAF), and the data quality profile. Our exploratory quality profiling method discovers a set of PPAF from systematic predefined quality actions scenarios to leverage the quality trends of any data set and show the cause and effects of such a process on the data. Such a quality overview is considered as a preliminary quality profile of the data. We conducted a series of experiments to test different features of the BDQPM including sampling and profiling, quality evaluation, and exploratory quality profiling for Big Data quality enhancement. The results prove that quality profiling tracks quality at the earlier stage of Big data life cycle leading to quality improvement and enforcement insights from exploratory quality profiling methodology.

The 2nd International Conference on Computers, Remote Sensing and Aerospace (CRSA 2022) was successfully held in Nagoya, Japan, on August 26-28, 2022. Due to the impact of COVID-19, it was changed to be held online. The conference mainly focused on the latest researches on Computer, Remote Sensing and Aerospace, gathering experts, scholars, and researchers in these fields from all over the world to share research achievements, explore hot issues, and exchange experience and new ideas.In the conference, we were greatly honored to have both Prof. Yanguo Jing from Coventry University, UK and Prof. Jiang Zhu from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan to serve as our Conference Chairs. 100 scholars around the world took part in the conference. Divided into three parts, the conference agenda included keynote speeches, oral presentations and online Q&A discussion. Primarily, the keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to address their speeches. Then in the next part, oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors one by one.Three distinguished professors were invited to hold keynote speeches during the conference. Among them, Prof. Yanguo Jing from Coventry University, UK performed a thought-provoking speech on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Sports Performance. Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) are being used to create new values and opportunities in business and society, there are many challenges in developing these AI applications. In the speech, Yanguo shared his own journey of use artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor sports performance, and evaluated their effectiveness in assessing energy expenditure during sport exercise. What’s more, Assoc. Prof. Thippa Reddy Gadekallu from Vellore Institute of Technology, India addressed a speech: Federated Learning for Healthcare. He introduced the applications of FL for healthcare informatics, the need for FL in healthcare domain, the fundamentals of FL, and the major motivations behind FL for healthcare applications, etc. And some lessons learnt, challenges, as well as future directions were highlighted. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion. And every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them.
