Preface

This paper analyzes a series of problems which need to be solved for a long time in China’s fuze manufacturing industry, such as high resource consumption, poor economic benefit, low technology content, mostly in the low end of the industrial value chain, and points out that advanced manufacturing technology can promote the transformation and development of China’s fuze manufacturing industry. Based on the brief introduction of the concept, development history and key technologies of advanced manufacturing technology, this paper focuses on the application background, theoretical research and engineering progress of micro nano structure precision machining technology, intelligent additive manufacturing technology, intelligent manufacturing system and industrial internet. It is proposed that China should take “made in China 2025” as the traction, vigorously develop advanced manufacturing technology, and promote the sustainable, green and healthy development of China’s manufacturing industry.

The basic requirement of production is to produce as many products as possible, at the lowest cost, with the highest possible quality. These requirements can be met with the new "Intelligent Production" paradigm. In particular, this paradigm involves the use of intelligent manufacturing systems and the introduction of intelligent production management. In this article, we'll look at intelligent manufacturing systems. The intelligent manufacturing system itself is a flexible manufacturing system that can flexibly respond to changes in production requirements as well as changes in its surroundings and interact with its surroundings. As a result of these flexible responses, there is less space, reduced production and investment costs, and increased productivity.

Pandemics like COVID-19 have created a spreading and ever-higher healthy threat to the humans in the manufacturing system which incurs severe disruptions and complex issues to industrial networks. The intelligent manufacturing (IM) systems are promising to create a safe working environment by using the automated manufacturing assets which are monitored by the networked sensors and controlled by the intelligent decision-making algorithms. The relief of the production disruption by IM technologies facilitates the reconnection of the good and service flows in the network, which mitigates the severity of industrial chain disruption. In this study, we create a novel intelligent manufacturing framework for the production recovery under the pandemic and build an assessment model to evaluate the impacts of the IM technologies on industrial networks. Considering the constraints of the IM resources, we formulate an optimization model to schedule the allocation of IM resources according to the mutual market demands and the severity of the pandemic.

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence technology, and the emergence of modern information technologies such as intelligent manufacturing, welding systems are changing, and intelligentized welding manufacturing and systems (IWMS) utilizing these technologies are attracting attention from both academia and industry. This paper investigates sensing technology, multi-information sensor fusion technology, feature recognition technology, the quality prediction method, control method, and intelligent welding production line application in the IWMS. Combining IoT technology and multi-agent systems, a hierarchical structure model welding manufacturing system (IoT-MAS) in the form of “leader-following” was constructed. The multi-agent welding manufacturing system has the advantages of distribution, intelligence, internal coordination and so on. The IoT-MAS consists of several sub-agents, which are divided into five categories according to their functions and internal processing logic. Combined with the functions of the intelligent welding manufacturing system, the agent structure of the whole welding process was proposed, and the matching communication technology and algorithm were designed. The intelligent welding manufacturing system based on IoT-MAS proposed in this paper can effectively solve the integrated design problem of large welding manufacturing systems.

Industry 4.0 enables intelligent manufacturing that focuses on designing, creating and delivering products and services tailored to individual customer requirements. This industry encourages the integration of various intelligent manufacturing systems and advanced information technologies, such as cyberphysical systems, the Internet of Things and the Internet of Services. The aim of this paper is to prove, on the basis of analysis of selected academic sources and examples from business practice, that Industry 4.0, as a global transformation of production and other business segments based on digitalization and the Internet, increasingly transforms existing supply chains into supply chains 4.0 and affects their business performance. There are three key parts of this paper. The first part presents the conceptual and business framework of Industry 4.0, as well as its dependence on certain digital technologies. The second part points to the business relevance of supply chains 4.0 and the technological conditionality of their adaptation to customer expectations. The last part proves the fact that Industry 4.0 enables the company to be transformed into a digital supply chain (supply chain 4.0) that can successfully respond to changes in the environment.

Agent and Multi-Agent system is one of the main research directions in distributed artificial intelligence. It has been considered that the Agent technology is an important method to build the model of distributed industrial system, the most natural way to design and implement the distributed Intelligent Manufacturing environment, and one of the significant technologies to construct the manufacturing system of next generation. The manufacturing system based on Agent is the specific application of the theory and method of multi-Agent system in manufacturing domain. On the basis of briefly summarizing the technology of Agent and Multi-Agent system, the architecture of Intelligent Manufacturing System based on Multi-Agent is put forward, among which, agent represents the basic processing entity. The scheduling optimization algorithm of Intelligent Manufacturing is provided, which is feasible proved by the result of stimulation experiment. Compared with the traditional artificial scheduling, it has distinct advantages. Finally, the model of communication and negotiation between Agents in the Intelligent Manufacturing System is studied, which utilizes the features of Agent such as autonomy, social interaction, response capability, preliminary capability, etc so that Intelligent Manufacturing System could make distributed decisions. The cooperation of system is completed by communication and negotiation. During the process of interaction, Agent is endowed with a role to meet the demand of flexibility of building models in the complicated process of Intelligent Manufacturing, as well as to construct an extended frame for reusable components.

The 2022 2nd International Conference on Mechanical Automation and Electronic Information Engineering (MAEIE 2022) was successfully held on September 23rd-25th, 2022 in Guizhou, China via virtual format. MAEIE 2022 expanded channels of international academic exchange in science and technology, promoted scientific innovation on the global scale, and strengthen academic cooperation between China and the outside world.In the conference, we were greatly honored to have Prof. Ning Sun from Nankai University, China to serve as our Conference General Chair. 150 individuals around the world took part in the conference. Divided into three parts, the conference agenda covered keynote speeches, oral presentations and online Q&A discussion. Firstly, the keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to address their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors one by one.Three distinguished professors were invited to hold keynote speeches during the conference. Among them, Prof. Guanglei Wu from Dalian University of Technology addressed a speech on Path Planning of Industrial Robots for Obstacle Avoidance. In this presentation, the path planning for robotic manipulators was introduced, and by combining artificial potential field method and bidirectional rapidly exploring random tree, a BiRRT-APF algorithm was proposed, aiming to handle the problems of highly possible randomness and low search efficiency. Additionally, Prof. Imane Hilal from Faculty of Information Sciences, Morocco addressed a report on Researches on Artificial Intelligence for a Distant Social Learning: Do intelligent Technologies Beat Face-to-Face Learning? The main objective of this study was to present recent research works which focused on the use of AI technics in social distance learning. Then, he discussed the possibility of replacing teachers with technology as already done in many other jobs and concluded with the open challenges in the current distance learning and how AI could make learning more effective and joyful for both students and teachers. Their brilliant keynote speeches had triggered heated discussion in the conference. And every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.We are glad to share with you that we’ve selected a bunch of high-quality papers from the submissions and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them. This study advances the field of intelligent manufacturing by integrating automation, information technology, and digitalization into a novel “five horizontal and three vertical” system architecture. We introduce an enhanced model-free adaptive control (MFAC) algorithm that utilizes a dynamic linearization method alongside pseudo-partial derivatives (PPD) for optimizing data transfer within intelligent manufacturing systems. Using CANoe software for simulation, our research demonstrates the improved MFAC algorithm’s superior bus message transmission efficiency by 0.0224 to 0.026 and a significant reduction in the network load factor by 0.2068. These advancements highlight the efficacy of fieldbus technology in reducing network congestion and enhancing real-time performance in intelligent manufacturing environments.

The 2021 International Conference on Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering (AMCE 2021) was held on December 03-05, 2021 as a virtual conference due to the growing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), and in order to protect the well-being of our attendees, partners, and staff as our number one priority.AMCE 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering to a common forum. Due to recent pandemic, 2022 8th International Conference on Applied Materials and Manufacturing Technology (ICAMMT 2022) was held virtually online on April 15th-17th, 2022. The decision to hold the virtual conference was made in compliance with many restrictions and regulations that were imposed by countries around the globe. Such restrictions were made to minimize the risk of people contracting or spreading the COVID-19 through physical contact. His research area includes Characterization of mechanical and mechanical properties of polymer hydrogels, research and development of biomimetic electroactive hydrogels, and applications of polymer materials in microfluidic devices and biomedicine. Lastly, we were glad to invite Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) of The National University of Malaysia as our finale keynote speakers. He studied on the design and synthesis of new organic heterocyclic compounds for EL device application. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. The previous 1st International Conference on Electronics and Communication, Network and Computer Technology (ECNCT 2019) was successfully taken place on November 15-17, 2019 in Shenzhen, China. With the rapid development of nanomaterial technology, graphene has become a research hotspot in the field of materials science due to its unique physical and chemical properties. This review paper aims to explore the performance enhancement of graphene-modified carbon fiber composite (FCM) porous materials and their application potential in intelligent manufacturing. By systematically analyzing the interaction mechanisms between graphene and carbon fibers, this paper reveals how graphene modification can significantly improve the mechanical strength, thermal conductivity, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness, and tribological performance of FCMs. Furthermore, this paper discusses the applications of graphene-modified FCMs in the field of smart materials, including their use as high-performance strain sensors, piezoresistive nanocomposites, and electrode materials for energy storage systems.This paper first reviews the preparation methods of graphene-modified FCMs, including chemical vapor deposition, in situ growth, and surface modification techniques. It then provides a detailed discussion of the performance testing results of these composites, including experimental data on their mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Through comparative analysis, this paper demonstrates the significant advantages of graphene-modified FCMs in enhancing material properties. Furthermore, it explores the integration of these materials in intelligent manufacturing systems, such as their potential applications in flexible electronics, sensor technologies, and energy storage devices. Finally, the paper looks ahead to the future research directions and challenges in graphene-modified FCM porous materials, including large-scale production, cost-effectiveness analysis, and environmental impact assessments. This review provides a comprehensive perspective on the design, preparation, and application of graphene-modified FCM materials, offering valuable insights for materials scientists and engineers working in the fields of high-performance composites and intelligent manufacturing.

The research focuses on the optimization of closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) network design in intelligent manufacturing systems, to achieve sustainable development goals by optimizing resource utilization, and reducing environmental impact and operating costs. The research focuses on constructing and optimizing supply chain networks, and the proposed algorithm is applied to multi-objective optimization of intelligent manufacturing supply chains. The experimental results show that the optimized supply chain efficiency has increased from about 81% before optimization to 96.13%. The total cost is controlled between 2.30654 and 3.38452 million yuan, which is 8%-12% lower than traditional methods. The profits are maximized to 1.42387 million yuan. The utilization rates of raw materials and remanufactured materials have increased to 83.78% and 69.21%, respectively. Energy consumption is controlled between 1442.672 and 1524.567 MWh. Carbon emissions are reduced to 126.564 tons. The highest product recycling rate is 74.52%. The total logistics distance of the supply chain is optimized from 1147.932 to 1389.432 km, and the production cycle is shortened from 44.982 to 49.782 h. By modeling and optimizing parameters such as logistics nodes, production cycles, and utilization rates of raw and remanufactured materials, the algorithm proposed by the research performs excellently, with a stable running time ranging from 18.732 to 19.564 s. The significance of the research lies in providing a dynamic, efficient, and sustainable CLSC design model for intelligent manufacturing systems, and demonstrating the significant advantages of this method in improving supply chain efficiency, optimizing cost control, and achieving environmental sustainability.

Intelligent manufacturing plays an important role in Industry 4.0. Key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics (BDA), the internet of things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPSs), and cloud computing enable intelligent manufacturing systems (IMS). Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an essential role in IMS by providing typical features such as learning, reasoning, acting, modeling, intelligent interconnecting, and intelligent decision making. Artificial intelligence's impact on manufacturing is involved in Industry 4.0 through big data analytics, predictive maintenance, data-driven system modeling, control and optimization, human-robot collaboration, and smart machine communication. The recent advances in machine and deep learning algorithms combined with powerful computational hardware have opened new possibilities for technological progress in manufacturing, which led to improving and optimizing any business model.
