Object-oriented logic configuration platform design for large power grid security and stability simulation

Changing in vision is the process of progressive disability with age. Nevertheless, the visual symptoms do restrain them from being independent. Under the concept of active aging, it is very essential to allow the elderly to maintain their independent ability in their daily living. The objective of this research is to develop an application (the app) for seniors to measure their low vision status autonomously through smart devices in their places. In this research, literature reviewing and investigation from various eyes' symptoms (such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and so on) were carried out to develop the interface mechanism that act as a simulation tool for measuring elders' visual capabilities and ocular condition. Based on these, the visual interface design with visual field simulation tools were suggested to obtain parameters for colorblind, and light and shadow control. Lastly, a prototype was developed through experiencing and interviewing both Thai and Taiwanese to gain the better understanding of the seniors' needs and usability. The results provide an alternative option for the elderly staying at home while keeping their vision health status instead of unnecessary visiting hospital in person.

Digital advertising is increasingly embedded within contemporary human–computer interaction (HCI) environments, where advertisements function not only as persuasive messages but also as structural elements of digital interfaces. Despite the rapid growth of online advertising, research examining how interface design influences advertising effectiveness remains fragmented across HCI, communication science, and marketing. This study synthesizes interdisciplinary research on how HCI-related interface variables affect visual advertising attention, avoidance, and persuasion outcomes. A systematic literature review following the PRISMA 2020 framework was conducted using four major databases: Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and the ACM Digital Library. The review covers peer-reviewed studies published between 2000 and 2025 that combine HCI methodologies—such as eye-tracking, usability evaluation, interaction logging, and user experience measurement—with advertising outcomes including attention, recall, persuasion, and avoidance. A total of 118 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using narrative synthesis. The findings indicate that advertising effectiveness is strongly shaped by interface-level variables including visual complexity, animation, interactivity, aesthetic congruence, and user task context. Visual attention operates through a dual-pathway mechanism in which bottom-up visual salience interacts with top-down goal-directed browsing behavior, explaining phenomena such as banner blindness. The review highlights the need for stronger theoretical integration between HCI and communication-based persuasion frameworks.

This thesis is the result of a collaboration with the College of Arts and Humanities at Swansea University. The goal of this collaboration is to design novel visualization techniques to enable digital humanities scholars to explore and analyze parallel translations. To this end, chapter 2 introduces the first survey of surveys on text visualization which reviews all of the surveys and state-of-the-art reports on text visualization techniques, classifies them, provides recommendations, and discusses reported challenges.Following this, we present three visual interactive designs that support the typical digital humanities scholars workflow. In Chapter 4, we present VNLP, a visual, interactive design that enables users to explicitly observe the NLP pipeline processes and update the parameters at each processing stage. Chapter 5 presents AlignVis, a visual tool that provides a semi-automatic alignment framework to build a correspondence between multiple translations. It presents the results of using text similarity measurements and enables the user to create, verify, and edit alignments using a novel visual interface. Chapter 6 introduce TransVis, a novel visual design that supports comparison of multiple parallel translations. It incorporates customized mechanisms for rapid and interactive filtering and selection of a large number of German translations of Shakespeare’s Othello. All of the visual designs are evaluated using examples, detailed observations, case studies, and/or domain expert feedback from a specialist in modern and contemporary German literature and culture.Chapter 7 reports our collaborative experience and proposes a methodological workflow to guide such interdisciplinary research projects. This chapter also includes a summary of outcomes and lessons learned from our collaboration with the domain expert. Finally, Chapter 8 presents a summary of the thesis and future work directions.

The Atlantic Deepwater Ecosystem Observatory Network (ADEON) is an array of hydrophones deployed along the U.S. Mid- and South Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf, that has been collecting long-term measurements of natural and human sounds in the region since 2017. This presentation focuses on the design and implementation of a web-based geospatial visualization interface that allows anyone to easily explore the massive datasets being generated in order to gain insight about the ecology and soundscape of the region. Visitors to the public website can use an interactive map of the ADEON project region to see the locations of the hydrophone deployments, 2D overlays of contextual data such as sea surface temperature and chlorophyll levels, and 3D modelled soundscapes. Selecting individual deployment stations brings up visualization interfaces that provide multiple ways to explore the data that has been collected there. A perceptually optimized tri-level spectrogram viewer permits rapid exploration of multiple years of raw recordings, and a similar deviations viewer reveals times when the ocean was unusually loud (or quiet) at various frequencies. An interactive heat map visualization presents the results of marine mammal detection algorithms, providing insight into migration behaviors, relationships with surrounding conditions such as temperature and chlorophyll, and cyclical patterns.

In order to achieve information visualization, realize good interaction between users and information, and meet the needs of users, this study first studied the interaction behavior of the user when using the smartphone was studied, and analyzed the visual factors of the smartphone interface were analyzed from the user sensory interaction level, and the user operation mode level, from the expression of visual form to the commonly used interface mode and User Interface (UI) component space. On this basis, the situational visual expression of the scene in different interaction scenarios was analyzed. Secondly, the basic theory of visual design of smartphone application interface was explained from the perspectives of aesthetics, semiotics and Gestalt psychology, In other words, the visual design of the application interface should be metaphorical, highlighting the key points in the overall visual style, and conforming to the user’s psychological model. At the same time, in order to meet the user’s personalized needs for control, it must add customized options. Finally, the model of the interface visual design method of the interdisciplinary “Shared Communication” system for the interface design of the mobile APP was constructed, and the case of Didi Chuxing was analyzed, which preliminarily confirmed the feasibility of the construction of the interface visual design method model of the “Shared Communication” system.

Visualization literacy, the ability to interpret and understand visual designs, has gained momentum in the educational and information visualization communities. The goal of this research is to identify and address barriers to treemap literacy – a popular visual design, with a view to improve a non-expert user’s treemap visualization literacy skills. In this paper we present the results of two years of an information visualization assignment, which are used to identify the barriers to and challenges of understanding and creating treemaps. From this, we develop a treemap visualization literacy test. Then, we propose a pedagogical tool that facilitates both teaching and learning of treemaps and advances treemap visualization literacy. To investigate the efficiency of this educational software, we then conduct a classroom-based study with 25 participants. We identify the properties of treemaps that can hinder literacy and cognition based on the results from the treemap visualization literacy test. Results also provide further support for the use of our tool that had a positive effect on treemap literacy skills of university students.

With the continuous development of China’s social economy, the competitiveness of brand market is gradually increasing. In order to improve their own level in brand building, major enterprises gradually explore and study visual communication design. Brand visual design has also received more and more attention. Building a complete and rich visual design system can improve the brand level and attract users to consume. Based on the abovementioned situation, this paper proposes to use collaborative filtering algorithm to analyze and study brand visual design. Firstly, a solution is proposed to solve the problem of low accuracy of general recommendation algorithm in brand goods. Collaborative filtering algorithm is used to analyze the visual communication design process of enterprise brand. Research on personalized image design according to consumers’ trust and recognition of brand design is conducted. In traditional craft brand visual design, we mainly study the impact of image design on consumer behavior. The brand loyalty model is used to predict and analyze the visual design effect. Also, the user’s evaluation coefficient is taken as the expression of brand visual design recognition. Finally, the collaborative filtering algorithm is optimized to improve the consumer similarity based on the original algorithm. The results show that the brand visual design using collaborative filtering algorithm can help enterprises obtain greater benefits in their own brand construction. It provides effective data help in the development of traditional craft brands.

ADDI: A tool for automating the design of visual interfaces

Visual communication design and space design is discussed in this paper the complementary relationship between, it is worth mentioning that the visual communication design can be a good blend of collision and space design, so the analysis of the blend mode in the design of visual communication design elements in space, and space visual design elements of law, more reasonable and effective use of visual communication design elements in space design activities for better design services, become a carrier capacity and environmental design in visual communication design concept, therefore, in the design of the two classify, between the two cannot be away from each other, can only promote better design complement each other. As is known to all, the most direct contact between human beings in this world is vision, also known as sight and sight, followed by hearing, smelling and tasting. Therefore, the more intuitive feelings of human beings will be conveyed by vision. In 1960, the term ＂visual communication＂ popular in the world design congress held in Japan, including printed newspapers and magazines, posters and other promotional material design, and television, movies, electronic billboards and other media, through the eyes to convey to the brain for modelling of expressive design is widely referred to as visual communication design, there's a phrase can express: show people design, design. Moreover, in the design of contemporary exhibition space, visual communication design elements are often used. These design elements not only have the function of transmitting information, but also have unlimited commercial value and propaganda effect. Left the concept of positioning, space design is only the so-called functional platter; Ignore the visual communication of visual language, no matter how good the environment will be due to graphic design style gap and left a failure. As we know, one of the most important functions of visual communication design elements is to help present the most complete visual effect in the spatial display. The organic connection between visual communication design and display space design not only harmonizes the relationship between two-dimensional plane and three-dimensional space environment, but also expands the cooperation between subjects and strengthens the research space between the two design disciplines. Only in this way can designers solve complex and comprehensive problems and help designers make full use of their advantages to create better works.

We investigate the visual and vocal modalities of interaction with computer systems. We focus our attention on the integration of visual and vocal interface as possible replacement and/or additional modalities to enhance human-computer interaction. We present a new framework for employing eye gaze as a modality of interface. While voice commands, as means of interaction with computers, have been around for a number of years, integration of both the vocal interface and the visual interface, in terms of detecting user's eye movements through an eye-tracking device, is novel and promises to open the horizons for new applications where a hand-mouse interface provides little or no apparent support to the task to be accomplished. We present an array of applications to illustrate the new framework and eye-voice integration.
