Exploration and Implementation of the Fixed Telephone Cluster Management System Based on Struts Framework

Software maintenance and evolution are important processes in software development. Developers usually face issues in the process of maintaining and evaluating software. The common problem is software code not well structured and organized. This will have an impact on the difficulty of the process of maintaining and evolving software. Maintenance and evolution process is done in all types of applications. In this research, we focus on web-based applications. Web-based applications are chosen because the development of web-based applications is very evolving. One of the most widely used design patterns in web applications is the Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern. This research focuses on the model layer in web applications. Because this layer automatically changes if there is a change in the data structure or database. Therefore, to make the maintenance and evolution process easier, it is necessary to analyze and reorganize the model layer. In this study, we trying to group the functions on the model layer by looking at the similarity of table reference access in the query. For the analysis process of the reorganization of the function structure, we use DSM (Design Structural Matrix). in this research, we use DSM in a new field that is in the model layer on MVC based application. The preliminary result, the reorganization of the function structure provides better contex recommendations that following the reference table for each function.

Apache Struts is an excellent framework based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern for Web applications. The advantage of Struts is the view and business logic separated, and increases reusability and flexibility of the code for Web development. In this paper, to construct the B2B electronic commerce system, the Struts framework is used, and makes the system has features of high scalability, distribution with high transparency, high modularization and reusability.

Spring MVC is the most popular Java web framework based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. Since the Spring 3.0 version, Spring MVC has provided annotation based request mapping capabilities using @Controller and @RequestMapping. But configuring Spring MVC web application components such as DispatcherServlet, ViewResolvers, MultiPartResolver, and ExceptionHandlers is a repetitive and tedious process.

The Model–View–Controller (MVC) design pattern is widely used in web development and ERP to separate data layer, presentation layer, and user interaction concerns. In recent years there have been many PHP frameworks available for web developers to choose from right one. Developers face difficulty in choosing the relevant frameworks and appropriate support functions with libraries to include in their projects. For this reason, a clear understanding of the various frameworks is now becoming an important requirement for web developers. In this paper, we studied several research papers talking about different PHP frameworks, and we compared them with each other for result. In PHP, there are several MVC frameworks available that provide a structured approach to developing web applications. The purpose of this research paper is to explore and review some of the popular MVC frameworks for web development in PHP.

Web frameworks that allow developers to create applications based on design patterns such as the Model View Controller (MVC), provide by default a number of security checks. Nevertheless, by using specific constructs, developers may disable these checks thus re-introducing classic application vulnerabilities such as Cross-site Scripting (XSS) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). Framework-specific elements including (1) the complex nature of these applications, (2) the different features that they involve (e.g. templates), and (3) the inheritance mechanisms that governs them, make the identification of such issues very difficult.To tackle this problem, we have developed Pythia, a scheme that analyzes applications based on the Django framework. To identify potentially dangerous data flows that can lead to XSS and CSRF defects, Pythia takes into account all the aforementioned elements and employs ideas coming from standard data-flow analysis and taint tracking schemes. To the best of our knowledge, Pythia is the first mechanism to consider framework-specific elements in its analysis. We have evaluated our scheme with positive results. Specifically, we used Pythia to examine five open-source applications that are currently in production and have thousands of users including an e-voting service, and a web-based translation management system. In four cases we have identified dangerous paths that in turn led to vulnerabilities. Notably, in many cases the paths involved the particular features of Django-based applications e.g. templates.

Client-Server (C/S) application is always used in the existing Human Resource Management System (HRMS) as the system architecture, which has the problems of complex maintenance and poor compatibility; and cannot use professional database and development system, making the system development difficult and the data security low. To solve the above problems, the overall demand is analyzed, as well as feasibility and key technologies of the enterprise HRMS system. Then a HRMS is designed and developed, based on the user’s key functional requirements and related technologies, which is reasonable and easy to maintain. The system is supported by Browser-Server (B/S) structure, with the current popular Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) multi-level structure as the overall architecture. The mature Microsoft SQL Server 2008 introduced by Microsoft is used as the database platform. Combined with Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern, this system can be used by users without geographical restrictions and system maintenance. In this system, performance logic and business logic are separated, which makes it convenient for the development and maintenance of the system. The system mainly includes six modules: personnel management, organizational management, recruitment management, training management, salary management and system management, which integrates enterprise information and realizes the functions of easy access and easy query of information database. Its interface is simple, easy to understand, and easy to operate, with low investment, low cost, high safety, good performance and easy maintenance, which help to improve the work efficiency and modern management level of enterprises. In the end, the operation performance of the system is tested. The results show that the throughput of the main functional modules in the system is greater than 100 times/s when dealing with the business, and the success rate of event processing is greater than 99%. The average response time of the business end is less than 0.4 s, and the average response time of the terminal side is less than 0.5 s, which all meet the standards. System CPU occupancy rate can be basically controlled below 30%, and memory usage rate is below 30%. In summary, the system designed here has the basic functions but also to ensure good performance, suitable for enterprise personnel management, organizational management, recruitment management, training management and salary management. The design and development of this system aims to provide technical support for the service quality of enterprise human resource management business, to improve the overall efficiency, promote the pace of enterprise strategic development, and enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises.

In modern complex enterprise applications re-usability and interoperability of software components are of vital importance due to the increasing heterogeneous development platforms and variety of end user devices in which computational services need to be exposed. The need of code solutions re-usability led to the development of Design Patterns, which are means to encapsulate proven solutions to recurrent problems and they provide developers with a common language to abstract the logic encrypted under source code implementation structures. In this article we focus on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. Although it represented a step forward for components re-usability, the model and view are still coupled compromising the business logic and introducing a degree of complexity for the applications development. We discuss two main variations of the MVC pattern that are aiming to complete decoupling of Model from View, as well as platforms supporting the development of MVC based applications. Our research is based on the original Virtual-MVC design pattern, in which we model the controller as middleware to achieve full decoupling of the model from view. Studies indicate that information systems and computer science programs should place more emphasis on software design topics.Because little significant software in a commercial environment is developed using only programming skills,students without exposure to design patterns and frameworks will be ill-prepared for the workforce. This paper investigates whether PHP-based web development courses should use PHP frameworks to guide program development and how to select an appropriate framework. The paper begins with a literature review of the concept of design patterns, particularly the Model-View-Controller(MVC) pattern. We review studies that argue that design patterns and frameworks are essential pedagogical tools. Finally, we report on our work to select an appropriate framework for incorporation into web development courses as well as the process by which some of the major PHP MVC frameworks were assessed to determine which is best-suited for use in an academic environment.

In this paper, we present a Workflow-based grId portal for problem Solving Environment(WISE) which has been developed by integrating workflow, Grid and web technology to provide an enhanced powerful approach for problem solving environment. Workflow technology supports coordinated execution of multiple application tasks on Grid resources by enabling users to describe a workflow by composing many existing applications and new functions, and provides an easy powerful tool to create new Grid applications. We propose new Grid portal to allow us to use Grid resources with improved workflow patterns to represent various parallelisms inherent in parallel and distributed Grid applications and present Grid Workflow Description Language(GWDL) to specify our new workflow patterns. Purpose – Personal projects are any kind of projects whose management is left to an individual untrained in project management and is greatly influenced by this individual’s personal touch. This includes the majority of knowledge workers who daily manage information relating to several personal projects. The authors have conducted an in-depth qualitative investigation on information management of such projects and the tacit knowledge behind its processes that cannot be found in the organisational structures of current personal information management (PIM) tools (file managers, e-mail clients, web browsers). The purpose of this paper is to reveal and understand project information management practices in details and provide guidelines for personal project management tools. Design/methodology/approach – Semi-structured interviews similar to that in several other PIM exploratory studies were carried out focusing on project fragmentation, information overlap and project context recreation. In addition, the authors enhanced interviews with sketching approach not yet used to study PIM. Sketches were used for articulating things that were not easily expressed through words, they represented a time stamp of a project context in the projects’ lifetime, uncovered additional tacit knowledge behind project information management not mentioned during the interviews, and were also used to find what they have in common which might be used in prototype designing. Findings – The paper presents first personal project definition based on the conceptualisations derived from the study. The study revealed that the extensive information fragmentation in the file hierarchy (due to different organisational needs and ease of information access) poses a significant challenge to context recreation besides cross-tool fragmentation so far described in the literature. The study also reveals the division of project information into core and support and emphasises the importance of support information in relation to project goals. Other findings uncover the division of input/output information, project overlaps through information reuse, storytelling and visualising information relations, which could help with user modelling and enhancing project context recreation. Research limitations/implications – On of the limitations is the group of participants that cannot represent the ideally generalised knowledge worker as there are many different kinds of knowledge workers and they all have different information needs besides different management practices. However, participants of variety of different backgrounds were observed and the authors converged observations into points of project information management similarities across the spectrum of different professions. Nevertheless, its observations and conceptualisations should be repeatable. For one, some of the issues that emerged during this work have been to different extents discussed in other studies. Practical implications – The empirical findings are used to create guidelines for designing personal project information management tools: support the selective focus on information with the division into core and supportive information; visualise changes in project information space to support narratives for context recreation; overcome fragmentation in the file system with selective unification; visualising project’s information relationship to better understand the complexity of project information space; and support navigating in project information space on two axes: time and between projects (overlaps through information). Originality/value – The study presents a longitudinal insight into personal project information management. As such it provides a first formal definition of personal project from the information point of view. The method used in the study presented uses a new approach – sketching in which participants externalised and visualised personal information and projects they discussed. The insights derived from the study form design implications for personal project management tools for knowledge workers.

En este trabajo se analizan los framework PHP de código abierto basados en el patrón de diseño Modelo-Vista-Controlador (MVC) a través de cuadros comparativos, que permiten a los desarrolladores crear sus aplicaciones web sin necesidad de codificar desde cero, ya que cuentan con herramientas integradas y bibliotecas que facilitan las operaciones CRUD (creación, lectura, actualización y eliminación), organización del código, facilidad de mantenimiento, seguridad ante ataques de inyección SQL y otras amenazas. Se describen las características, especificaciones técnicas, componentes de los frameworks considerados los más comunes como son: Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, Zend, CakePHP, Yii, que ayudan a reducir el tiempo en el proceso de desarrollo empleando buenas prácticas de programación. Para el estudio se aplicó el método analítico-sintético para identificar los frameworks que permitan diseñar e implementar web dinámicas, robustas y seguras facilitando la corrección de errores. Los resultados brindan un insumo a los programadores e ingenieros de software que están incursionando en los frameworks PHP donde puedan analizar las bondades que tiene cada uno, elegir el más completo según su funcionalidad, ventajas y desventajas al momento de desarrollar sus proyectos web.

In order to realize effective process management and application integration used in the whole product development process, some advanced techniques or methods have been proposed and successfully applied in product design. But in distributed environment, how these engineering tools can effectively access right data in right format at the right time inevitably becomes a very important factor in product development. So a flexible integrated design platform for process integration has been established, which consists of representation layer, process control layer, services layer and repository layer. Based on analyzing three patterns of organizing data, context data model is introduced, which organizes data based on process. The mechanism of interaction between context data model and process unit is described in detail. The model-view-controller (MVC) design pattern is adopted in our design platform which separates data model from its various views. Web services are developed to realize the dynamic data integration between applications. The design platform based on the key techniques is developed as a prototype to prove the concept.

Providing students with the expertise of scientific and practical skills in Web development requires good preparation and practical competencies, the formation of positive attitudes toward the given course and determining suitable learning outcomes is one of the most important trends and issues in instructional design and technology. One of the most important challenges in this paper is to develop the relatively old course plan to cope with the rapid developments in the world of web application development, this requires Curriculum mapping to identify and address academic gaps, and redundancies. For purposes of improving the overall coherence of the course, its relationship with the other prerequisite courses should be explained more, some learning outcomes may be achieved through more than one course, therefore this study traced other related courses to the problem statement, such as Object-Oriented-Programming (OOP), Software Modelling and Design and other courses. This interconnected set of courses was motivated by the idea of Crosscutting concepts (CCCs) in Web Application Development, such as design patterns, Model-View-Controller (MVC), Entity Framework, Object Relational Mapping, Application Programming Interface (API), and others. This paper proposed some best practices and guidelines to take students gradually from a simple to more complicated tasks in learning Web development.

Ethics in digital resource processing and access are strongly coupled with human computer interaction because they produce trust between user and system. Over the past decades, we have seen a rapid increase of digital born resources in business applications where i.e. different stakeholders, ranging from patients, doctors to Data Scientists must cope with ethical aspects and regulations. Amongst others, innovative Model View Controller (MVC) based data management systems in the healthcare sector are analysing and managing an ever-growing, vast amount of sensitive data, enabling its efficient and comprehensive use in decision-making processes. E.g. in data-driven collaboration processes like drug development, caregiving or clinical patient monitoring. MVC is one of the most popular architectural patterns (Holzinger et.al 2010), which is the reason to investigate this design pattern further in terms of ethical aspects within human computer intractable systems. However, new regulations, like the GDPR have a huge impact on sensitive data management. However, ethical regulations could not first be considered by those who make use of information system functionalities, but must be an inherent part of considerations during software development process. This short paper will bring up and discuss ethical issues in decision making systems system software development, along with an existing ethic by design framework in the scope of health-related research projects.

Today few organizations have a thorough understanding of what is on their networks at any given time. This study tries to develop Computer and Network Asset Manager (CNAM) that is a network management application which helps large enterprises, and Small medium enterprises (SMEs) service providers, manage their data centers and IT infrastructure efficiently and cost effectively. CANM collects information on all hardware components of the network instruments that are on the network. In this project, a real-time network monitoring method is suggested for dynamic information to reduce the complexity and cost based on network management. In the proposed method, a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is first used to collect data for start interaction between equipment in the specific data center, to gather these data SNMP would need to request it from Management Information Base (MIB) that served as a database for stored information. Furthermore, to ensure data authenticity in the management station that fetches real-time data periodically from equipment, network engineer would have to manually key-in static information into CNAM when it was first launched. The SNMP would then pick up on this stored static information and automatically began collecting real-time data; this feature will be developed with the help of Model View Controller (MVC) pattern that is a software pattern for implementing user interfaces. It allows users to have interaction with the CNAM as well as input the related data. The object oriented approach shall be used to implement SNMP and MIB which represents system management information. Web Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is required in order to transfer protocol like SNMP, as well as to enter the actual data manually for further authenticity with the real time data. This study would hopefully encourage companies to try an interactive solution for problem in managing their equipment in the data center.
