Preface

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to extend our warmest regards to all participants of the International Conference on Tropical and Coastal Region Eco-Development (ICTCRED) 2019. This annual conference is the fifth event at Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia that is organized by the Faculty of Fisheries, Universitas Diponegoro. This year we brought an essential global topic the Integrated Coastal Zone Management for Sustainable Development. The conference aims to provide a forum to exchange ideas and their current achievements for researchers, academicians, professionals, and industries to expose and exchange innovative ideas, methods, and experiences in the areas related to tropical life sciences and coastal development.We have accepted 156 abstracts for oral and poster presentations coming from different universities and research centers from many countries, which were consisted of 13 big interests. Besides, we have cordially invited five highly respected researchers as keynote speakers with different fields to share their knowledge and expertise. I am grateful for each one of them for setting aside their valuable time to participate in this conference.The committee extent very kind thank all participants for the success of the conference. International conference on fisheries and marine sciences (INCOFIMS) is an annual conference organized by Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. The main aim is to provide a sharing platform that enables researchers, academics and practitioners from all over the world to share their most recent findings as well as to propose the best strategies to address issues and challenges which we have been currently facing in aquaculture and fisheries practices worldwide. The 1st INCOFIMS was held successfully offline in Surabaya in 2018, the second in 2019, the third in 2020 and the 4th in 2021.The 5th INCOFIMS was previously scheduled offline in Surabaya on 28th September 2022. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and travel restriction for foreigners come into Indonesia as well as traveling within the Indonesian islands, we had the 5th INCOFIMS in a virtual format with ZOOM on 28 September 2022, and hosted from Faculty of Fisheries and marine, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya Indonesia.The theme in the 5th INCOFIMS was “Optimizing the Utilization of Aquatic Resources Through the Blue Economy Program Towards Achieving the SDGs Program”. Technically, we had the conference divided into 2 (two) sessions in general: (1) keynote speaker session and (2) guest speaker session. In the keynote session, we had 3 (three) keynote speakers delivering a speech which were Prof. Dr. Orhan Tufan Eroldogan, Prof. Lee Baumgartner and Dr. Ian Hendy. Each keynote speaker had 1.5 hours for giving a presentation using ZOOM and 30 minutes for discussion in one virtual room. After the keynote speaker session, we proceeded to the guest speaker session in which all participants were divided into 7 (seven) rooms according to our subtopics for oral and poster presentations:Room 1: Aquaculture technologyRoom 2: Fish Nutrition RoomRoom 3: Fish DiseasesRoom 4: Marine and Aquatic SciencesRoom 5: Estuarine and Coastal EcosystemsRoom 6: Fisheries ManagementRoom 7: Fisheries Socio-economicsIn this session, every speaker had 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Total participants joined in this conference was 200 participants from at least 6 different countries (Australia, Japan, Austria, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia).The conference was in general quite successful, acknowledging the number and enthusiasms of participants during the discussion sessions in both the keynote speaker session and guest speaker’s session. The 2nd International Conference on Fisheries and Marine (ICFM) was organized by Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science and carried out on July 15, 2021 in the format of virtual conference (online platform, Zoom) due to the situation of Covid-19 and the implementation of worldwide travel restriction.This conference brings together about 150 presenters and 255 general participants consist of researchers, scientist, government’s official, professional from private sectors and NGO’s. They were come from Japan, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Australia, and Indonesia. The conference model was divided into two sessions, including keynote speeches and plenary session (oral presentations). In the first session, we invited six experts to deliver their keynote speeches. Each expert was allocated about thirty minutes to perform their talks through Zoom and after all keynote speech perform followed by discussion about sixty minutes. The keynote speakers were Prof. Dr. Soottawat Benjakul from Thailand, Dr. Hirose Kazuyo from Japan, Prof. Dr. Takaomi Arai from University of Brunei Darussalam, Prof. Dr. Agung Damar Syakti from Indonesia, Dr. Luky Adrianto from Indonesia, and Dr. M. Djanib Achmad from Indonesia. In the second session, the presenters, who performed in oral presentations were given 10 minutes each to briefly present their recent research and 5 minutes discussion via online collaboration tool, Zoom. This session was divided into the five class of meeting rooms based on the field area of their subjects and it was carried out by parallel system.The Proceedings of ICFM 2021 contains 73 papers which were compiled from the excellent papers submitted and presented in the plenary session of the conference. The papers discuss a broad area in fisheries and marine science covering oceanography, marine and fisheries biotechnology, aquaculture, capture fisheries and processing technology, marine and fisheries resources management. We do hope that this proceeding could share bright ideas and give noteworthy contribution in the field of fisheries and marine science for sustainable development.We would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved, especially to all authors for their contribution in preparing the papers. Pandemic COVID-19 has hardly impacted global fisheries and aquaculture, as FAO reported in the 34th session of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) in February 2021. FAO further suggests that this pandemic impact catalyzes the fisheries sector to be more innovative, socially, and environmentally responsible. Fish and fisheries products are well-known healthy food. It contains high quality and quantity of protein and provides essential vitamins and minerals to maintain human health status. The innovation of science and technology in the fisheries sector is a crucial point to improve and assure the efficiency and sustainability of the production and utilization of the resource. Research activities and development should be synergically conducted to implement technologies that benefit the communities.Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, holds a biennially international symposium to provide access and exchange of research data and fisheries experience to support the transfer of knowledge and technology to strengthen the world’s fisheries sector. The 4th International Symposium on Marine and Fisheries Research (The 4th ISMFR) aims to bring together academic scientists, researchers, government institutions, private parties, and stakeholders to share and exchange progress information, experiences, and research results in all aspects of marine and fisheries sciences. The 4th ISMFR theme was promoting sustainable fisheries through technology and research innovation for a healthy community”. It covered a broad spectrum of fisheries-related topics, including aquaculture, fish disease, fish genetics, biotechnology, marine natural product, seafood processing technology, seafood safety, fisheries biology, fisheries resources management, fisheries socio-economics, oceanography, climate sciences, and marine ecotoxicology. Due to the Pandemic COVID-19, the 4th ISMFR was held virtual on July 28-29, 2021, by using the Zoom Meeting platform. We cannot postpone this symposium because it is a routine schedule for researchers and stakeholders to disseminate and discuss their research findings. The seminar’s organizing committee was located in the Fisheries Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Management of the symposium was carried out using the website (http://ismfr-ugm.org/).The symposium consists of a plenary session and parallel presentation sessions. The plenary session presented three keynote speakers, namely Professor Rashid Sumaila from The University of British Columbia (Canada), Professor Erlinda R. Cruz Lacierda from The University of the Philippines Visayas (Philippines), and Professor Soottawat Benjakul from The Prince of Songkla University (Thailand). A total of six parallel presentation sessions was conducted with 12 invited speakers and presenters from eight countries, namely Norway, Belgium, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Presentations in each parallel class were divided into presentation panels consisting of approximately five presenters. Each presenter was given 10 minutes for presentation and discussion. Discussion sessions were held at the end of each forum for about 15 minutes. A total of 146 scientific papers have been presented at the 4th ISMFR. The 4th ISMFR was attended by 155 participants. All presenters and attendances join the symposium virtually from their respective residences. Readers can access recordings of the 4th ISMFR Plenary session on the YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGtjnoR3hSo&t=7599s).This proceeding provides an opportunity for readers to gain more information from the reviewed papers that have been presented in the 4th ISMFR. The reviewers from six countries (Philippines, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia) and the editors from four countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia) have participated in the abstracts screening, improving, and finalizing the manuscripts. The proceedings divided into three sections, namely aquaculture, aquatic resource management, and fish product technology. From this proceeding, readers will find recent research finding on broad aspects of fisheries and marine sciences to come up with new knowledge and idea to promote sustainable fisheries through technology and research innovation for a healthy community.We want to thank all parties for the success of the 4th ISMFR. Radiological protection is based on the assumption that any additional exposure to ionizing radiation produces an increased risk of stochastic adverse health effects. The ICRP has adopted linear no-threshold (LNT) dose-response relationships to derive health risks associated with low doses of radiation and this implies that the risks of cancer and hereditary effects are directly proportional to the dose received, no matter how small the dose. The LNT assumption has been criticised over the years both by those who consider that it underestimates the risk and by those who believe that it is overly conservative. A few years ago, most of the pressure on ICRP came from those who believed that the risks per unit dose adopted at low doses were too small, but in recent years the pressure has been coming from the opposite direction. Strictly speaking, ICRP feels that the most likely form of the dose-response relationship for low LET radiation is linear-quadratic (i.e. sub-linear at low doses), and for cancer they approximate this by two linear relations, that for the low dose region having a slope (risk per unit dose) half of that for the high dose region, represented by a DDREF of 2. Nevertheless, there are those (particularly in the US and France) who argue that there is no direct evidence for stochastic effects being produced by low doses of radiation, and that the appropriate dose-response relationship has a threshold dose below which no risk to health exists, or even that low doses of radiation are beneficial (`radiation hormesis').

PrefaceThe UNNES Physics International Symposium, UPIS 2018 was held in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia on 3 May 2018 in Conjunction with 32nd National Seminar on Physics - Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI). In the symposium, the researchers from various area in Physics and Physics Educations presented their new findings from their latest works. The 2nd International Seminar of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University in 2025 Banjarbaru, October 3, 2025 The 2nd International Seminar and the 10th National Seminar 2025 is organized by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (FPIK ULM) as part of the International Joint Seminar on Education, Social Science and Applied Science (IJESAS) 2025. Although the seminar is conducted under the IJESAS umbrella, the publication of scientific papers in this proceeding is carried out through ISFMAR (International Seminar on Fisheries and Marine), the official scientific forum of FPIK ULM. In this event, FPIK ULM serves as a co-host, contributing expertise in fisheries and marine sciences and supporting the scientific publication process. This international seminar is part of an annual series organized through a collaboration involving the Institut Nasional Flores (INF), Borneo Riset Edukasi (BREC), Dharma Samakta Edukhatulistiwa (DSE), and Perhimpunan Afirmasi Pendidik Nusantara (PAPENTARA). The 10th International Seminar on New Paradigm and Innovation on Natural Science and Its Application (10th ISNPINSA)“Developing Innovations and Challenges in Science And Technology For Better Living”September 24-25, 2020The International Seminar on New Paradigm and Innovation of Natural Sciences and its Application (ISNPINSA) is an annual conference organized by the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. This seminar has been successfully conducted since 2011 and therefore becoming an annual event since then. This annual ISNPINSA has been intensively achieved high level improvement in strengthening the collaboration between scientists either from Indonesia or other countries, stimulating a new research partnership, and contributing to formulating policies to increase the important roles of science for the community.The 10th ISNPINSA was held on September 24-25, 2020 with the theme of “DEVELOPING INNOVATIONS AND CHALLENGES IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR BETTER LIVING”. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the conference process was carried out virtually using licensed Zoom media. The presentations were categorized into two terms, which were plenary presentation and parallel presentation. Keynote speakers were invited to deliver their expertise and research findings at the plenary presentation and each had given 1 hour of speech. While invited speakers together with all parallel presenters delivered their presentation in parallel session with time of speech including Q&A for each of 15 minutes.The number of participants of the seminar were 313 including 7 keynote speakers, 5 invited speakers, presenters and non-presenters coming from various institutions of various countries consist of researchers, lecturers, postgraduate and undergraduate students from various universities. There were 263 papers presented in this seminar and after the review process, there are 199 articles to be published in the present conference proceeding. This year’s theme is Recent Innovations in Sustainable Environment Facing 5.0 Society. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and travel restrictions, the symposium should be held as a virtual event. On the positive side, we could gather six keynote speakers, 119 presenters, and participants who joined the symposium from various places including Japan, Korea, Zambia, the USA, United Kingdom, and of course Indonesia to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and information through meaningful discussions on the latest innovation and technologies in environmental issues.The proceeding of GreenVC 2022 presents the original and unpublished results in all areas of interest. This research was conducted from May to September 2018 at the Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Padjadjaran. Fish samples were taken from Jatigede Reservoir, Sumedang, West Java. The hampala fish consisted of female hampala barb with gonadal maturity level (GML) IV, GML V, and GML VI. Ovarian histological preparations were made at the Animal Microtechnical Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. This research aimed to determine the stages of ovarian development of hampala barb, and determine the types of spawning. The hampala barb in the Jatigede Reservoir had five stages of oocyte development, namely chromatin nucleolus stage, perinucleolus stage, cortical alveolus stage, vitellogenesis, and oocyte maturation with multi-spawner group synchronous type of ovarian development.

 One of the stages of the Green Campus 2020 program as an effort of IPB towards World Class University (WCU) is to carry out the Green Transportation (GT) movement. Buses, electric cars, bicycles and electric motorcycle taxis are the GT transportation modes in IPB. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of satisfaction of GT users and identify attributes that are important and need to be improved so that the GT service system can be improved. This study uses survey data conducted by researchers on undergraduate students who use GT transportation mode in the past week. The sampling method used is random layered sampling with layers in the form of faculties. The analytical methods used are Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), biplot analysis, and simple correspondence analysis. The CSI value obtained is 2.96 (1-4 scale) with a CSI percentage of 74% in other words the user is satisfied with the service he receives. The aspects that need to be improved are aspects of empathy and reliability on electric cars and assurance on bicycles, while other aspects have been considered good. Biplot analysis shows the diversity of satisfaction obtained from aspects (reliability, empathy, tangibles, assurance, and responsiveness) is the same. Simple correspondence analysis shows students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), Faculty of Animal Husbandry (FAPET), Faculty of Forestry (FAHUTAN), and General Competency Education Program (PPKU) often use electric cars. Faculties that often use buses are Faculty of Agriculture (FAPERTA), Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FATETA), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). The mode of bicycle transportation cannot be characterized in any faculty because at least the respondents use it.

It is our great honor to welcome you to the 2020 International Symposium on New Energy and Electrical Technology (ISNEET 2020) held on September 18-20, 2020 in Changsha, China. ISNEET 2020 welcomes researchers, engineers, scientists and industry professionals to an open forum where advances in the field of New Energy and Electrical Technology can be shared and examined. ACTION/INTERACTION: BOOK/ARTS COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO CENTER FOR BOOK AND PAPER ARTS CHICAGO, ILLINOIS JUNE 8-10, 2007 The Action/Interaction: Book/Arts conference consisted of a major invitational exhibition, three keynote conference speakers, eight guided discussion sessions, an open mic night for readings and performance works, and one technical presentation. In its first year as a source for the book arts community, the conference completely subsumed the Festival of the the third fair hosted by Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts. Action/Interaction was a relatively open environment offering opportunities to engage through dialogue. For an audience accustomed to hearing about book craft, channels were opened to include other media's influence. Discussion leaders and attendees began to address the book medium's relations outside its own social bounds as well. Action/Interaction's first keynote speaker, Audrey Niffenegger, is known among book artists for her hand-colored etchings with aquatint that make for fictions of mostly pictures. Since the publication of a bestseller, The Time Traveler's Wife (2004), Niffenegger has become better known as a novelist. Nifenegger spoke to the differences between her projects of pure writing versus predominately image-based books, such as The Three Incestuous Sisters: An Illustrated Novel (2005), which was published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. in a much larger edition than viable using hand-printed methods. Niffenegger also reported she is embarking on a serial for the United Kingdom's Guardian Unlimited newspaper as well as reading screenwriters' disputable attempts to adapt The Time Traveler's Wife for an upcoming feature film. Niffenegger is a case in point for the conference's parallel discussion session, Books and Mainstream Publication, lead by Jen Blair of Columbia College Chicago. Blair and those present contended over decisions faced by book artists pursuant to attention from major publishers. Tactics for improving artists' books distribution, profitability, and the Internet's potential for opening up new audiences were also debated. The potential for linking to new audiences was at the core of questions in another parallel session, Considering Artists' Books moderated by Amanda D'Amico and Phoebe Esmon of University of the Arts (UArts) in Philadelphia. The moderators questioned the general functionality of the in-progress Web site. Johanna Drucker, founder of Artists' Books Online, was in attendance for the discussion and positioned the project as an archive providing access to certain books in their entirety, rather than simply an aid for locating artists' books or an advocate for the medium. D'Amico and Esmon stimulated their discussion by picking apart Artists' Books Online's metadata fields and glossary. Terminology remains a central point of departure as evident from the session Shaping a New Critical Discourse for the Field, lead by Mary Tasillo of UArts, as well as Beyond Artifacts: Book Arts as Practice, lead by Andrew Eason of University of West England. In yet another parallel discussion session, Crossing Boundaries: New Conceptions for the Book, moderator Jonathan Lill's (Museum of Modern Art Archives) approach was to phenomenologically compare artists' books to other media like architecture and monumental sculpture in a lively philosophical debate. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Even more energetic was Marshall Weber's keynote address directed primarily at students whose attention he captured by calling for revolt. Weber's talk was inspired by the conference moniker of Action as well as its locale, Chicago--historically known for student protest and uprisings against the city's infamous one-party politics. Weber provided a brief history of Chicago's revolutionary past including violent unrest surrounding the 1968 Democratic convention and the Days of Rage in the fall of 1969. …
