PrefaceThe UNNES Physics International Symposium, UPIS 2018 was held in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia on 3 May 2018 in Conjunction with 32nd National Seminar on Physics - Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI). In the symposium, the researchers from various area in Physics and Physics Educations presented their new findings from their latest works. The event was join-organized by Physics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia with Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI).The symposium consisted of plenary sessions and 14 parallel sessions which covers the following topics: Theoretical and Computational Physics, Advanced Materials, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Geophysics, Astrophysics, Instrumentation Physics, Laser and Optoelectronics, Energy and Environmental Physics, Physics Education and Interdisciplinary Physics. The plenary sessions were held in two sessions in which five keynote speakers from five countries shared their valuable knowledge and researches. We hope that this program will expand the mutual understanding and respect in stimulating research in Mathematics, Science, and Education; share research interest and information, and create a form of collaboration to build a trust relationship. It is our great honor to welcome you to the 2020 International Symposium on New Energy and Electrical Technology (ISNEET 2020) held on September 18-20, 2020 in Changsha, China. ISNEET 2020 welcomes researchers, engineers, scientists and industry professionals to an open forum where advances in the field of New Energy and Electrical Technology can be shared and examined. The conference is an ideal platform for keeping up with advances and changes to a consistently morphing field. Leading researchers and industry experts from around the globe will be presenting the latest studies through papers and oral presentations.The meeting consists of two parts: oral presentations and speeches of keynote speakers. More than 50 participants attended the meeting. We were greatly honored to have invited Dr. Thanikaivelan Palanisamy from CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute, India to serve as our Conference Chairs.In the keynote presentations part, we invited three professors as our keynote speakers. Our beloved Conference Chair, Dr. Thanikaivelan Palanisamy was also invited to present his talk Collagen Derived Advanced Materials for Energy and Environmental Applications. His research proposed new avenues for converting industrial bio-wastes into useful multifunctional advanced materials based on nanoscience approach are scalable and inexpensive thereby minimizing pollution and maximizing environmental sustainability. Dr. Ruomei Li, our second keynote speakers, from Tsinghua University, China presented her latest research: The Role of Human Nature in the Energy Revolution. Her speech had mainly analyzed the negative reactions from different sectors of the energy industry in facing the challenge of energy revolution, and Point out that those are the natural reflection of human nature. The last keynote speaker was Prof. Deng Feng, Changsha University of Science and Technology, China. Her speech topic is: Key technology of high precision real-time monitoring and control in the distribution network. This talk aimed to introduce the key technology of high precision real-time monitoring and control in the distribution network which has promoted significantly the scientific and technological progress in the field of distribution network safety monitoring, which is significant in reducing the hidden danger of personal equipment, reducing power outage, improving the utilization rate of equipment and improving the quality of people’s production and life.ISNEET 2020 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of New Energy and Electrical Technology to a common forum. Therefore, we compiled a lot of excellent papers featuring the latest advanced studies on the following topics: New energy resources, Electrical Systems, Energy Science and Energy Technology, Energy management and other related topics. These proceedings collect the academic and scientific contributions presented at the X International Conference Days of Mathematical Modeling in Sciences (X ICDMMS), which continues the legacy of the “Days of Applied Mathematics” (ICDAM) previously held at Universidad Simón Bolívar, San José de Cúcuta, Colombia. The X ICDMMS took place in Talca, Chile, on October 2–25, 2024. The primary objective of this conference is to promote the exchange of concrete experiences in applying mathematical knowledge to address complex problems across diverse scientific contexts. In line with this mission, the event has brought together a vibrant academic and scientific community, including postgraduate students, professors, and researchers from across Latin America, who have not only presented their research but have also had the opportunity to publish their work (since the fourth edition) in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series, the journal associated with the conference. This event is an initiative led by three academic research groups with a presence in Chile and Colombia: the Mathematical Modeling Group of Maule (GM3), the Scientific Modeling and Business Innovation Group of Universidad Simón Bolívar (GIMCINE), and the Mathematical Modeling Group of Biological Systems at Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (MATBIO-UTEM). Its purpose is to serve as a platform for disseminating knowledge in the basic and applied sciences through the lens of mathematical modeling. A key focus of the conference is to continue encouraging a space for the scientific contributions of graduate students and to promote interactions that strengthen their integration into the research community. Between June 6 and 7, 2024, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca hosted the second edition of the scientific conference ICEMS-BIOMED - International Conference on Electromagnetic Fields, Signals and BioMedical Engineering - dedicated to the research in electrical and biomedical engineering. Organized under the aegis of EUT+ and based on the collaborative relations between prestigious academic institutions from Romania (Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, „Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu and „Ştefan cel Mare” University of Suceava), the 2024 edition enjoyed the presence of researchers from 8 European countries: Spain, Greece, Poland, Latvia, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Romania. As in the case of the previous edition, the conference was held in a hybrid format; following the evaluation process, out of a total of 40 papers initially uploaded on the site, only 27 were presented, the 13 rejected papers representing a percentage of 32.5%. The Conference was attended by 4 invited speakers, who held lectures of forty minutes each, the rest of the papers being presented exclusively orally. In this way, a total of 27 papers were presented: 4 by invited speakers and 23 regular papers. The main objective of this scientific event was to create emulation in the academic world in topics of great relevance and interest and to offer an opportunity to young researchers to present their newest results in approaching the following topics: • Electromagnetic Fields • Electromagnetic Compatibility • Interactions between Electromagnetic Waves and Biological Systems • Biomedical Engineering • Modern Solutions for Diagnostics and Treatment The event took place in the new conference center of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTC-N Hub) and in the presentation room there were about 50 people: authors (senior researchers or doctoral students), master’s students, sponsors and guests. The regular presentations took place over a period of 15 minutes - 10 minutes for the presentation itself and 5 minutes for discussions and questions and the online presentations were made through the Teams platform. The 2nd International Conference on Agriculture and Bioindustry (ICAGRI) is an international conference that brings leading international academia, researchers, policymakers, professionals and stakeholders in the domain of interest from around the world together. Various issues related to Environmental Studies, Soil and Earth Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, Animal Husbandry, Biodiversity, Biomaterial and Bioindustry and were discussed to accelerate innovation and technology of resource-based food security and local wisdom.The conference that organized by Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) was held from October 27-28, 2020 in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. This year, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was carried out in the form of virtual conference to avoid personnel gatherings. Nevertheless, we can see the enthusiasm of the participants from the number of papers we received. In total, we received 151 submitted papers through submission system among that a total of 126 papers were sent to the reviewers, while 16 submission papers were rejected due to irrelevant topics. A total of 110 papers were accepted for presentations on the 2nd ICAGRI 2020. Forming 4.0: Big Data – Smart Solutions Enschede, NetherlandsInternational Deep Drawing Research Group annual conference 2019 was held on 3–7 June in Enschede, The Netherlands. The conference was co-organized by the University of Twente and Tata Steel Europe. Editorial introductions

Radiological protection is based on the assumption that any additional exposure to ionizing radiation produces an increased risk of stochastic adverse health effects. The ICRP has adopted linear no-threshold (LNT) dose-response relationships to derive health risks associated with low doses of radiation and this implies that the risks of cancer and hereditary effects are directly proportional to the dose received, no matter how small the dose. The LNT assumption has been criticised over the years both by those who consider that it underestimates the risk and by those who believe that it is overly conservative. A few years ago, most of the pressure on ICRP came from those who believed that the risks per unit dose adopted at low doses were too small, but in recent years the pressure has been coming from the opposite direction. Strictly speaking, ICRP feels that the most likely form of the dose-response relationship for low LET radiation is linear-quadratic (i.e. sub-linear at low doses), and for cancer they approximate this by two linear relations, that for the low dose region having a slope (risk per unit dose) half of that for the high dose region, represented by a DDREF of 2. Nevertheless, there are those (particularly in the US and France) who argue that there is no direct evidence for stochastic effects being produced by low doses of radiation, and that the appropriate dose-response relationship has a threshold dose below which no risk to health exists, or even that low doses of radiation are beneficial (`radiation hormesis').

PrefaceThe 2nd International Conference on New Energy and Future Energy System (NEFES2017) was held from September 22nd to 25th, 2017 in Kunming, China. Prof. Juan Yu from Chongqing University, China, talked about Data-driven Methods for Operational Reliability Assessment of Power Systems Integrated with High-penetration Renewables. Her speech focusing on the computational efficiency of the operational reliability assessment in power systems that contain high penetration renewables, this presentation lays a theoretical foundation to support practical applications of an online high-accuracy operational reliability assessment. Prof. Alberto Borghetti, University of Bologna, Italy, shared a speech on his specialty related to Scheduling problems in local energy communities. This presentation is aimed to describe some models that could be useful for the operation of energy communities and distribution networks where trading between neighbors becomes significant. A/Prof. Farhad Shahnia, Murdoch University, Australia, made an insightful speech on Recent and Future Research on Microgrid Clusters. This talk briefly introduced the progress of research in this field around the world and Australia, and also discussed some of the technical challenges associated with interconnection of neighbouring microgrids as a key step to improve their survivability in the course of unexpected imbalances between the demand and the available generation from intermittent renewable resources. Prof. Xinyu Chen, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, delivered a speech: Towards Higher Penetration of Renewable Challenge and Opportunities. This talk focused on deepen the understanding of how the environmental regulations and low carbon polices influence the operation, planning and markets for power systems in different counties. As the last keynote speaker, Prof. Shouxiang Wang from Tianjin University, China. His research area: microgrid, smart distribution system, uncertainty analysis of power system.We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. In October, the Faculty of Engineering traditionally holds gatherings of researchers and academics who study motor vehicles, engines and road traffic. From 1979 to 2004, thirteen, biennal MVM Symposiums have been held and they grew into an International Congress MVM in 2006. Since then, eight MVM Congresses have been held and in October 2022, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Kragujevac organized the ninth International Congress MVM from 13th to 14th October 2022.With the traditional support of the Ministry of Educetion, Science, and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia, University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Engineering and the International Journal “Mobility and Vehicle Mechanics”, the organizers of the Congress decided to organize the event on the Internet network (online) due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, through ZOOM platform, for the second time.The theme of the Congress MVM 2022 was “Ecology - Vehicle and Road Safety - Efficiency”. Along this journey we learned from the various sessions, which broadly cover a wide range of topics related to automotive engineering from fundamental research to industrial applications, highlight the interaction between the driver, vehicle and environment and stimulate scientific interactions and collaborations.The International Scientific Committee in collaboration with the Organising Committee built up a stimulating scientific program. The program offered over 49 presentations, including key-note speakers and paper sessions. The presentations to this conference covered current research in motor vehicle and motors conducted in 15 countries from all over the world. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Chunbo Xiu, from Tiangong University, China. He shared a speech on his specialty related to Memristive Cellular Neural Network & Its Dynamic Characteristic Analysis. He demonstrated that chaotic memristive CNN system can be used in the secure communication by the chaos synchronization based on sliding mode control. Assoc. Prof. Pavel Loskot, from Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), our third keynote speakers. He presented a speech: Monte Carlo Simulations Revisited.
