Using Object-Z to Compare the MVC and PAC Architectures

We describe our approach to teaching the MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture for GUI applications. Swing adopts MVC at component level. We use it as a case study to illustrate features of MVC and also help students learn to use the tool for programming projects. To encourage them to see beyond a specific tool, we assign students a project to build a domain-specific framework for GUI applications using MVC at application level. This project allows students to learn hands on the MVC architecture as well as other design techniques in a new context. Our two-semester experience shows that a tool-based case study with a follow-up effort as such is productive in teaching practical design techniques.

Ethics in digital resource processing and access are strongly coupled with human computer interaction because they produce trust between user and system. Over the past decades, we have seen a rapid increase of digital born resources in business applications where i.e. different stakeholders, ranging from patients, doctors to Data Scientists must cope with ethical aspects and regulations. Amongst others, innovative Model View Controller (MVC) based data management systems in the healthcare sector are analysing and managing an ever-growing, vast amount of sensitive data, enabling its efficient and comprehensive use in decision-making processes. E.g. in data-driven collaboration processes like drug development, caregiving or clinical patient monitoring. MVC is one of the most popular architectural patterns (Holzinger et.al 2010), which is the reason to investigate this design pattern further in terms of ethical aspects within human computer intractable systems. However, new regulations, like the GDPR have a huge impact on sensitive data management. However, ethical regulations could not first be considered by those who make use of information system functionalities, but must be an inherent part of considerations during software development process. This short paper will bring up and discuss ethical issues in decision making systems system software development, along with an existing ethic by design framework in the scope of health-related research projects.

In the current teaching of politics, teachers still focus on the cultivation of the basic intelligence of students’ language intelligence, and it is easy to ignore the cultivation of other intelligences that affect the overall development of students. This research mainly discusses the design of curriculum ideological and political teaching platform based on the fusion of multiple data and information in an intelligent environment. This research adopts the MVC architecture, and the web application developed based on the MVC (Model View Controller) architecture pattern is easier to complete the realization of multiple controllers. The front desk ideological and political teaching teacher module includes the login system. In addition, the teacher can view the test status of a specific student and can also pay attention to the total intelligence of all students who have been tested. The process of the student test is to enter the correct account and password to log in to the system and then perform the test. After the test, the test result can be viewed, and the personal information can be maintained at the same time. In addition, the personal login password can be modified. The existence of the database is to ensure that the data is correct and effective. This system uses MySql to design the database, and the name of the database is braintest_db. The data table in relational database is the main object of storing and managing data, and it is also an important task of database design. This system has designed three kinds of user logins, namely, administrator, student, and teacher, and login can be realized according to the account number and password. Among them, teacher’s participation is by inquiring about students’ test situation, paying attention to students’ multiple intelligences, and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. In addition, the main object of this test is students, and the analysis of multiple intelligences is realized through student tests. Students are vitally physical objects that can be tested and searched for results. In the study, 20% of the students both learn the basic content of the platform and use the forum. This research will help improve students’ literacy in an all‐round way.

There is a lot of routine work in any organization, including in recruitment agencies. Effective management organization and automation of activities of employees of recruiting agencies is not an easy task. The system should automate the routine actions of workers of recruiting agencies and be convenient for their clients. This paper proposes an approach to automating the selection of necessary medical staff. Not all information systems used by recruiting agencies can compare candidates and generate results that include several of the best candidates. Based on the analysis of the subject area, groups of parameters that significantly affect the choice of medical personnel were determined. The proposed approach is to analyze the request from the client, and then in the system find requests of other clients similar to it in terms of parameters, for which a candidate has already been found. The next step is to take the profiles of healthcare professionals that have been suggested for these requests (they act as benchmarks) to further compare them with existing candidates. Each employee profile parameter has its own similarity function. Available candidates will receive scores and will be ranked. We also additionally adjust the assessment by comparing candidates with the current request. Software was developed to automate the selection of medical personnel. For its implementation, a three-level client-server architecture is proposed. MVC (Model View Controller) architecture was chosen for the server part. The Single Page Application architectural template is used for the client part. The server part is divided into three layers, which further demarcate and structure the responsibilities of the system components. .NET technologies are used to implement business logic. SQL Server is used for the server and database provider. The use of the software implementation of the developed system demonstrated quite good results. The average time for selecting the 10 best candidates out of 500 is 0.4 seconds, and the processing of only 1 resume by a person takes several minutes.

En este trabajo se analizan los framework PHP de código abierto basados en el patrón de diseño Modelo-Vista-Controlador (MVC) a través de cuadros comparativos, que permiten a los desarrolladores crear sus aplicaciones web sin necesidad de codificar desde cero, ya que cuentan con herramientas integradas y bibliotecas que facilitan las operaciones CRUD (creación, lectura, actualización y eliminación), organización del código, facilidad de mantenimiento, seguridad ante ataques de inyección SQL y otras amenazas. Se describen las características, especificaciones técnicas, componentes de los frameworks considerados los más comunes como son: Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, Zend, CakePHP, Yii, que ayudan a reducir el tiempo en el proceso de desarrollo empleando buenas prácticas de programación. Para el estudio se aplicó el método analítico-sintético para identificar los frameworks que permitan diseñar e implementar web dinámicas, robustas y seguras facilitando la corrección de errores. Los resultados brindan un insumo a los programadores e ingenieros de software que están incursionando en los frameworks PHP donde puedan analizar las bondades que tiene cada uno, elegir el más completo según su funcionalidad, ventajas y desventajas al momento de desarrollar sus proyectos web.

Dance appreciation is a creative and complex spiritual activity process of the unity of feeling and understanding, affection and understanding. Development of information technology and mobile terminals provide a new way to dance appreciation. In order to develop dance appreciation video system, this paper designed it based on the MVC mode and provided technical support for software development. Firstly, studied the MVC mode, using graph represented the relationship among modes, views and controllers; and then designed layered system architecture consisting of user layer, service layer and management layer; finally, with the live video of one of the core program designed the program flow and illustrated the implementation process. The results shown that forcibly defining controller, model, view and other modules of application improved the readability of application and the reusability of code.

Java Beans provides a robust mechanism for combining software components. However, to a large extent Java Beans components are currently not being combined to create documents in an environment such as a word processor or illustration program. This is not due to a weakness in the Beans property model, but rather to limitations in how Java Beans' user interfaces are currently implemented. Verdantium is a prototype Java-based API (for JDK 1.2.2 and above) for document embedding that takes a novel approach to implementing software components. This environment retains the property-based semantics from Java Beans, but implements different approaches for on-screen presentation, visual embedding, document printing, and persistence. Fully functional applications (i.e., word processors, illustration programs, equation editors, etc.) can be implemented as individual software components that can either run independently or be embedded in other applications using the same API.

The Tuition Payment Information System was designed because at this time the payment of tuition at SMP Islam Cilacap still uses the general ledger, causing inaccuracies in payment data by employees (administrative). The purpose of this research is to help solve problems in the processing of tuition payment data, making payment data reports, searching payment data, knowing payment data information, and knowing the school money payment report. The system is designed using MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture and SMS Gateway notifications as well as system development methods using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with Waterfall model. In addition, the system design uses PHP and HTML programming languages, database management is MySQL and uses the Laravel framework. Based on the results of the system test and the results of the questionnaire by 10 respondents that 14% stated enough, 44% stated well and 42% stated very well calculated by the calculation of the Likert scale of 86% entered the excellent qualification which means successful. So it can be concluded that this system can solve existing problems by facilitating the processing of payment data, assisting in the creation of school money payment reports, helping in speeding up the search for payment data, knowing the payment information of tuition without having to come to school, and knowing the payment data report quickly without having to go through a long recap process.

It is common practice to create new technologies with the existing ones and eventually replace them. We investigate the domain of user interfaces (UIs) in self-supporting programming environments. The Squeak/Smalltalk programming system has a history of almost 20 years of replacing Smalltalk-80's model-view-controller (MVC) with Self's Morphic, a direct manipulation interface. In the course of this transition, we think it is likely that Squeak managed to provide an abstraction for arbitrary UI frameworks, called projects. In this paper, we describe plain Squeak without its user interface, considering object collaboration, code execution, and extension points in the virtual machine. We implemented a command-line interface, the Squeak Shell, to emphasize the simplicity of adding a new UI to Squeak using this project concept. We believe that self-supporting programming environments can benefit from multiple user interfaces to accommodate a variety of tasks.

Construction materials play a crucial role in the project delivery process. However, the process of requisition for the materials on construction site if not handled appropriately can adversely affect the performance of quality, cost, and time. Therefore, the study was aimed at developing an automated materials requisition system which will make the supply chain on construction sites seamless and more effective. A use case diagram and an activity block diagram helped to understand the users and functionalities of the material requisition platform. In addition, using different user interface and a database system including a programming language to connect them, the study developed an automated Web-based material requisition system for construction firms using the model view controller (MVC) model. The MVC model comprised of using MySQL, HTML, and PHP, respectively, in the design. The automated materials requisition system was tested by sending material requisition through the supply chain of a construction firm. Result of the automated system was presented via screenshots of the Web-based platform. In conclusion, any construction firm can register on the platform and make use of the automated materials requisition system in order to maximize the productivity and optimize the use of ICT in their materials’ supply chain process.

Researchers studying biomolecules require easy-to-use, customizable tools allowing them to effectively use other molecular science packages written for molecular dynamics (MD), quantum chemistry, statistical mechanics, and molecular graphics. This paper presents a Scala tool for the computational science of biomolecules (STCSB) developed in Scala, which allows users to prepare and run MD simulations, as well as perform three-dimensional reference interaction site model (3D-RISM) calculations of biomolecules. Features of the STCSB include the following: (1) a cross-platform application running on a Java virtual machine; (2) handling hierarchical XML-based data formats such as the protein data bank markup language (PDBML); (3) prepared application programming interfaces (APIs) with both character user interface (CUI) and graphical user interface (GUI) options; (4) prepared APIs for molecular graphics; and (5) a scalable source code based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.

Interactive Systems and the Model–View–Controller Architecture

Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern is very useful and popular design pattern that separates the modeling of the domain, the presentation, and the actions based on user input into three separate classes. The model acts as the domain that software is built around, the view as the visual representation of a model. It is usually the resulting markup that the framework renders to the browser and the controller responsible for processing input, acting upon the model, and deciding on what action should be performed, such as rendering a view or redirecting to another page for supporting a business models. Hadoop MapReduce paradigm applied for collected the several datasets for generating the large volume of data in batch processing. In this paper enhanced the Hadoop MapReduce for processing large scale and different data set across platform with MVC pattern. In general, the system consists of five mainly methods: 1.) Collected data sources from different platforms such as the registrar system, web mail, web blogs, news and the English Wikipedia that are included in the data file system at local system, 2.) Generate the data into a map slot from input format, 3.) calculate the jobs from the business logic, 4.) Create a data model based on data entity framework, and 5.) Display an user interface for supporting the business interfaces.

Limitations of Smalltalk’s Model-View-Controller (MVC) paradigm are discussed. A novel approach to generalising MVC is described. Our approach based on application Entities, visual Representations and Input Dispatching (ERID) decouples the conventional interdependence of MVC’s View and Controller subclass hierarchies. Instead we have generalised the user interface capability of visible entities by allowing each entity to handle its own user interaction through the incorporation of a generic input dispatcher. User interfaces represent a major part in software products. Generally, it is difficult to document the content and the structure of the user interface. However, there is a need to save and preserve the overall state and structure of the user interface for later communication and modifications in requirements, design and implementation. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) storage format should be universal and can be transferred from one application to another (such as XML). GUI states are usually defined as the overall combination of properties of all the components or widgets of the GUI This paper suggests an alternative back end representation of user interfaces and their state from their original format within the applications. The user interface model is transformed to a schema saved in an XML file. The schema structure represents the user interface state. This state considers only the structure of the user interface and ignores controls' specific properties. XML format is widely used and accepted by many applications. It is the infrastructure language for web pages and database management systems. User interface documentation is useful for future evaluation and comparison, useful for stakeholders' communication. It is also for some GUI testing activities such as regression testing where we trigger testing if there is a change in the user interface.
